Democrats throw Gruber Under The Bus While Universities Try to "Disappear" Gruber
Democrats throw Gruber Under The Bus |
Needless to say, Gruber quickly became toxic -- so bad, in fact, that Democrats wasted little time in tossing him over the side:
Andrews noted that “embarrassed” Democrats “quickly distanced themselves from Gruber.” Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) “turned Gruber into a stranger,” while the White House claimed he never worked there.
“But when the bill was being written, the administration paid Gruber almost $400,000 for technical advice on drafting the law,” Andrew said.
And as for congressional Democrats..."disappearing" Gruber won't work. With each new video of him saying something disturbingly and disgustingly true about Obamacare, the worse their predicament becomes. After all, Gruber could only put the ideas down on paper. They actually voted for it.
Universities try to "disappear" Gruber |
On Monday the University of Rhode Island took a page out of Penn’s book, removing (link is external) a 2012 discussion where Gruber explains how the law was passed to “exploit” the American voters’ “lack of economic understanding.” URI offered no explanation on its webpage as to why the video was pulled.
The fact is nothing ever really disappears from the Internet. If you're curious about what Mr. Gruber, or anyone else, may have said about Obamacare, one resource to check is the Internet Archive, where old sites continue to live on forever.
