Is Hillary FOR Dismemberment of Unborn Children?
by Ken Blackwell and and Bob Morrison: When Republican governors go all weak and wobbly, it's front-page news everywhere. And when grassroots social conservatives criticize those governors, all of a sudden, the GOP is falling apart.
Well, Gov. Sam Brownback hasn’t waffled. He has just signed important legislation in Kansas that protects unborn children in that state from the monstrous death by dismemberment that pro-abortion people clinically call “Dilation and Extraction (D&E).” As he signed this historic legislation, Gov. Brownback said: “This is a horrific procedure and we are pleased to ban it in Kansas and we hope it will be banned nationally.”
With Gov. Brownback taking such a strong stance, it’s worth recalling that his predecessor, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D) not only opposed such protective legislation, she actually invited those who dismember the unborn children to dine with her at Cedar Crest, the French Chateau-style Kansas governor’s mansion. What on earth would the conversation be about with men who make their living cutting arms and legs of struggling unborn children in the womb?
LifeNews, a pro-life online resource, carried this story on the passage of this first-in-the-nation protective law. No longer will unborn children be torn limb-from-limb in Kansas if this law can withstand judicial review.
We can be assured that when grassroots conservatives criticize Republican politicians, the media will be happy to hold their coats. Why is it, though, that former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton seems to get a free ride on all questions related to abortion.
She can go before EMILY”S List—an outfit that recruits women candidates—and whip up the crowd with the thought of a woman President. Carly Fiorina—Don’t call your office! Joni Ernst, stand by. EMILY’s List is only wants pro-abortion women. EMILY is an acronym for “Early money is like yeast.” They happen to be right about that. And that’s how pro-abortion politicos dominate the nominating process.
But they seem to have forgotten about Hillary Clinton’s famous quote: “Abortion is wrong.” (Newsweek, October 31, 1994) She never said it before. She has never said it since. But she said it. Aren't our journalists curious about why she said it? Or if she meant it?
Does it really all depend on what the meaning of “is” is? We thought we knew what the meaning of “wrong” is.
Wouldn't we like to have seen her reaction if the late Tim Russert had put that simple declarative statement up on the screen? What made the Tim Russert on NBC’s Meet the Press so great was the simple act of asking tough questions of liberals as well as conservatives.
If she thought abortion was wrong, why did she propose a national health care takeover that would force the 89% of U.S. counties that had no abortion facilities in 1994 to provide at least one? If she thought it was wrong, why did she assail Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa for not including abortion in his African maternal health initiative? If she thought it was wrong, why did she collude with President Obama and Vice President Biden in forcing Kenya to adopt abortion in its new constitution?
If she thought it was wrong, why did she oppose letting pro-life Democrat Bob Casey, the late Governor of Pennsylvania, address the Convention where her husband was nominated?
Is there anything else she considered wrong that she sought to spread throughout the world? Any other wrong thing she wanted to force Americans to pay for with their tax dollars?
Why did she vote against any judicial nominee who might agree that abortion is wrong? And why does she promote only those candidates and public officials who think abortion is right?
When Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis (D) conducted a filibuster against a ban on dismemberment abortion, a protective law like the one Gov. Brownback just signed, Hillary Clinton had a perfect opportunity to show her sincerity. She might have taken a stand to stop the wrong thing from continuing in Texas abortion facilities. Unborn children there have their arms and legs cut off while they, writhing in pain and bleeding profusely, die agonizing deaths.
What D&E avoids mentioning is the unborn child. Dilation of the cervix, yes. And extraction from the mother’s body, yes. But what about the little WHO whose broken and lifeless body is extracted?
Hillary Clinton might have said NO to dismemberment. It’s not too late. We are happy to make converts. If she even once thought it was wrong, there may yet be hope for her.
Why won’t our media even ask her about that?
That’s why we salute the courage and the conviction of Gov. Sam Brownback of Kansas.
