Congratulations Matt Blevin & Jenean Hampton: Gov/LtGov Elect for Kentucky
ARRA News Service: [Updated 10:30 AM] Change is coming to Kentucky!
Matt Blevin, a businessman and Tea Party favorite, defeated democrat opponent Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway becoming the second elected republican to the governor's office since 1971 (48 years).
Blevin rebounded to victory from a a prior defeat when he tried to unseat Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell (R), the current U.S. Senate majority Leader.
Blevin is a grassroots tea-party supported Republican and in the view of many pundits did not run "stellar political campaign." Well, his "not so stellar campaign" seemed to be doing all right with Kentucky voters. They signaled that they have had enough of both the the Obama administration and the former democrat controlling their capitol in Frankfort. Kentucky coal mining has suffered under the EPA as well as numerous failures in Obamacare in Kentucky.
Matt Blevin and his running mate Jenean Hampton have been on the road campaigning and listening to their fellow citizens. Blevin has been at it since the beginning of his campaign for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. It worked and the people voted 53%-44% to send Blevin to Frankfort, as Kentucky's next Governor.
In addition, his Republican running mate, Jenean Hampton made a significant impact. She is a retired Air Force officer and Fellow TEA Party activist. He democrat opponent was State Representative Sannie Overly. Hampton will not only become the next Lieutenant Governor, she becomes the first African American elected to statewide office in the history of Kentucky . WOW! And, the Democrats falsely claimed to be the party of African Americans.
Congratulations Gov. Elect Matt Blevin and Lt. Gov. elect Jenean Hamption!
