Trump Wins New York's April 19, 2016 Republican Primary
ARRA News Service: Yesterday's New York's Super Tuesday continued to shape the both the Republican and the Democratic Primaries. Donald Trump, a New Yorker, and Hillary Clinton, a transplant and former NY U.S. Senator, both had decisive victories. As noted in previous articles, Sanders has practically no chance of gaining the democratic nomination barring Hillary being charged by the Feds with a crime.
Although there is little wiggle room in New York, adjustments / corrections can still be made by the states, the following results for the Republican and Democratic primaries are as follows:
New York Republican Primary
Trump 524,936 votes 60.41% - 90 delegates
Kasich 217,901 25.08% - 5
Cruz 126,156 14.52%
Delegate Count for GOP (per The Green Papers):
The Republican Convention has total of 2,472 delegates with 1,237 needed to nominate.
Active Candidates:
D Trump - 846 delegates
R Cruz - 544
J Kasich - 149
Delegates available: 680
Pledged to others suspended campaigns:
Rubio 173 Carson 9, Bush 4, Fiorina 1, Huckabee 1, Paul 1
New York Democrat Primary
Clinton 1,054,088 votes 57.99% - 139 Delegates
Sanders 763,474 votes 42.01% - 108
5 Unpledged
Delegate Count for DEM (per The Green Papers):
The Democrat Convention has total of 4765 delegates with 2383 needed to nominate.
Clinton - 1,362 delegates
Sanders - 1,052 delegates
Delegates available - 1,637
Uncommitted - 714
