Trump Vs. The Media & End Of The EU?
Gary Bauer |
For weeks the media have been hounding Donald Trump over whether he had fulfilled a pledge to donate millions of dollars to veterans groups. Yesterday, Trump held a press conference to put the issue to rest.
Flanked by vets, Trump read a list of dozens of groups he financially supported. He said he had not released the details because he did not want the attention, yet the media demanded details.
By the way, where is the media frenzy over Hillary Clinton's email scandal? An Associated Press Fact Check strongly suggests she has been lying to the American people.
Why aren't reporters demanding details from Hillary about the Clinton Global Initiative? It was reported months ago that the FBI had launched a public corruption probe.
Why hasn't Hillary Clinton held a single press conference this entire year? Why don't the media seem to care? Well, we know the answer to that one.
A small group of veterans held a demonstration outside of Trump Tower during Trump's press conference. Alexander McCoy, the leader of the group, categorically denied they were part of the Clinton operation, but it didn't take long to discover evidence to the contrary.
One big clue for me was their signs reading, "We won't be props for hate. We will stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters."
Who would that be? The peaceful Muslim neighbors next door or the Tsarnaev brothers? The San Bernardino shooters? The Fort Hood shooter? The D.C. sniper?
The right is often condemned for stereotyping all Muslims, but the left refuses to recognize that Islam is in the middle of a brutal civil war that is raging for the heart and soul of that faith.
End Of The EU?
Later this month, British voters will go to the polls and cast their ballots on a referendum to stay or exit the European Union (EU). The vote is often referred to as the "Brexit" -- short for "British exit."
You may recall that Barack Obama went to England several weeks ago and threatened British voters if they dared to leave the EU. Obama suggested England would be at the back of the line in future trade deals.
Obama's threats may have worked, at least initially. Two weeks ago, polls showed a 10-point advantage for those seeking to remain in the EU. But something has changed.
Two new polls conducted for The Guardian, a left-wing newspaper, find British voters favor leaving the EU by a 52%-to-48% margin.
This sudden shift comes after new ads focusing on the lack of border controls. The ads tell voters that if they want to stop the transformation of Britain resulting from massive waves of immigration then they should vote for Brexit.
It is still a very tight race that could change again before the vote. But the polling shows just how potent the immigration issue is throughout the West.
With that in mind, a new analysis of Census Bureau data finds that 3.1 million new immigrants arrived in the United States in the past two years. That's more than 1.5 million immigrants per year. Of those new arrivals, a third or 1.1 million were illegal immigrants.
As Steven Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies put it:
