That's when Donald Trump will have the best opportunity to implement a principled, conservative agenda and win real victories.
My Heritage colleagues have spent the last year developing a comprehensive plan for the new administration. Many of these same experts are now advising the transition team on what policies to pursue and which people to appoint to key jobs.
These are the issues the new administration should prioritize:
- Fully repealing Obamacare. Congress should pass a repeal bill and send it to Donald Trump's desk on January 20, the day he takes office.
- Nominating a conservative justice to the Supreme Court. Donald Trump should nominate a conservative justice to the Supreme Court on the day he takes office. As a candidate, President-elect Trump announced a list of potential Supreme Court nominees that Heritage helped develop.
- Securing the border. Congress and the administration should act quickly to secure the border, halt illegal immigration, and reject amnesty.
Thanks to Heritage supporters, conservative ideas are front and center on the Trump transition team.
Because of this, the Washington Examiner said "The Heritage Foundation might be the biggest winner of 2016." But the real winner is you. You've made this opportunity possible.
I look forward to seeing the progress we can make together in the first 100 days of the new administration.
