Cronyism: Having Your Ex-Employees Award Government Contracts . . .
. . . Makes It Much More Likely You’ll Get Government Contracts.

President Donald Trump’s far-and-away biggest mistake as chief executive – was not making MANY more people depart the government upon his taking over its top spot.
Trump is currently in the midst of an additional round of small-bore house cleaning. But the Deep State is very, very un-shallow and inordinately un-narrow – and oh-so-much-more culling needs to be done.
To give but two sub-departmental examples:
Behold the United States Digital Service (USDS). And the Defense Department’s portion thereof: The Defense Digital Service (DDS).
The Trump Administration has left these government nooks and crannies nigh completely un-cleansed. So they remain entirely populated by Barack Obama Administration holdovers.
And as we have seen time and time and time again – Obama holdovers make really bad, heinously crony policy.
Where the Trump Administration has applied itself – things government have gotten very much better. To wit:

When attention is not paid – you get very Leftist-preening-esque things like…the following USDS website.
Which actually isn’t the official government website – that’s www.usds.gov. This is some inexplicable additional website – hosted externally on the Medium website-building-and-hosting platform. Behold some excerpts from their “Team and Culture” page:
As the latter, self-congratulatory entry states – the USDS was created out of whole cloth in 2014 by the Obama Administration. So the office is chock full of uber-Left, ex-Big Tech crony Obama appointments.
And these people LOVE introducing themselves.
And the only thing they love more than presenting themselves – is providing crony assistance to their former employers. Or, maybe, current, concurrent employers….
Meet Deap Ubhi.
Like that massive pic of Ubhi and Obama? Good thing he’s still working in the Trump Administration.
Get that self-description? Ubhi is simultaneously working for the government – and his own private company. How very Barack Obama-Hillary Clinton of him.
Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner’s Wife, Consulted For Outside Clients While At State Department
Ubhi’s private sector Tablehero seems innocuous enough: “Bringing intelligence to hospitality. Tablehero is the simplest platform to build your restaurant business on the internet.”
But we don’t know who Tablehero’s clients are. Could his private company be “hired” – to affect his decision-making in his government gig?
And it seems more than a little odd – and perhaps legally problematic??? – to simultaneously work for the public and private sectors.
And get Ubhi’s USDS self-description: “Product & Technology Leader.” On his Twitter page (again with the Obama pic):
Ubhi describes himself as USDS’ “Product Guy.”
Sounds like procurement to me.
Ubhi’s LinkedIn headline says he works for USDS – but his employment history says he works as “Product Director” for Defense’s DDS.
Sounds like procurement to me.
And where did Ubhi work immediately prior to government? Why look…uber-Big Tech company Amazon. You know, the company owned and operated by Jeff Bezos – the world’s richest man and an outspoken anti-Trump agitator.
And Ubhi didn’t just work for Amazon. He worked for Amazon Web Services (AWS) – Amazon’s cloud storage company.
Which brings us to this.
Defense Department Gives Trump Enemy Bezos Ten-Year, Monopoly Cloud Contract
Well isn’t that special?
Barack Obama starts a new government Tech agency. With, of course, departmental subagencies. Because too much government is never enough.
And Obama stocks them full up with Leftist Big Tech cronies.
The Defense Department sub-agency then cuts an interminably-long, monopoly contract – with Amazon Web Services.
And the Defense Department sub-agency’s Product Director…worked for…Amazon Web Services.
Until Obama plucked him to be an uber-Left, ex-Big Tech crony government appointee.
What an amazing set of coincidences all of this is.
