Left-wing Anarchy So Bad In Portland That Sheriff & Deputies Won't Respond

by J. D. Heyes: In the mid-1800s, hundreds of thousands of Americans began migrating west along the Oregon Trail to take advantage of federal legislation guaranteeing a plot of land to anyone who settled the region.

“The trail was arduous and snaked through Missouri and present-day Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho and finally into Oregon,” the History Channel notes. Thousands died of diseases and what are, today, easily treatable conditions like dysentery.

Over the next century or so, Oregon flourished and became home to scores of patriotic Americans who worked hard, built lives, and made something out of an obscure frontier.

But then something happened to destroy the frontier, can-do mentality of Oregonians: Democrats and their Left-wing supporters took over and now the state is hostage to anti-establishment, anti-patriotic lunacy.

In the age of POTUS Donald Trump, Portland has become ground zero for Leftist ‘protests’ and violence. The lawlessness has become so pronounced, in fact, that the local sheriff has now instructed his deputies to stay out of the city because it’s become too dangerous and they are getting no assistance from city police.

As Law Enforcement Today reported:

Portland just lost a huge chunk of its police presence.

On Friday, Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts wrote an email to his deputies, stating his concern for their safety.

“I will not place you at unnecessary personal and professional risk,” the email read.

Portland is mostly patrolled by the Portland Police Bureau, which has come under scrutiny and criticism in recent years for doing too little to intervene against lawless Leftists and Antifa anarchists who regularly take over city streets using violence and mayhem.

The PPB gets assistance from neighboring counties including the Clackamas Sheriff’s Department. However, with Roberts’ decision, that means PPB officers will be under even more pressure from a lack of staffing, even as new protests are being staged and scheduled.

On May Day, Portland underwent another Left-wing protest — for ‘immigrant’ and ‘workers rights’ set for the downtown area.

Part of the problem is that the Leftists who run Portland hamstring their own police department. In February, Mayor Ted Wheeler ordered an investigation into the Portland Police Bureau after hundreds of texts between a department lieutenant and “right-wing activist” Joey Gibson were made public, The New York Times reported.

“Community members have long expressed concerns about police bias during demonstrations,” Mr. Wheeler said in a statement a day before he announced the investigation. “Incidents like this contribute to the distrust that so many people have about the Portland Police Bureau.”

The complaining ‘community members’ he’s talking about are Left-wing activists who have demonstrated open hostility towards the PPB and all police departments and officers, unlike Gibson’s organization.

And this is why Sheriff Roberts won’t send his deputies into Portland anymore: Left-wing hostility towards police that is sanctioned by city officials who are literally allowing the inmates to run the asylum.

In August, Wheeler attempted to prevent his own police department from sweeping up protesters manning a fetid, disgusting ‘camp’ at a local ICE office, which prevented federal workers from doing their jobs. Some ICE agents reported being threatened by Antifa types and left to fend for themselves because Wheeler forbade his officers from intervening to help federal immigration authorities.

POTUS Trump blasted Wheeler: “Last month, the mayor of Portland, Oregon shamefully ordered local police to stand down, leaving federal law enforcement officers to face an angry mob of violent people,” the president said.

This is what it’s coming to in American cities like Portland that are run by idiot Leftist Democrats: Lawless dens of violence and chaos, leading to a reduced police presence endangered residents.

Get ready to reap what Democrats are sowing; when cops stop showing up, mayhem isn’t far behind.
