Biden’s First Two Weeks: Killing Thousands of Energy Jobs, Free Speech, Women’s Sports With The Stroke Of His Pen

by Lew Uhler, Peter Ferrara, & Joe Yocca: While Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer oversee a military occupation of the Capitol and another “impeachment show” with no chance of success, new President Joe Biden has been dutifully carrying out the real election prize: imposing the leftist dream of the Green New Deal, silencing conservative critics and murdering women’s sports. And all in the first two weeks of his presidency.

While crushing the previously unsurpassed record for most Executive Orders in a new administration’s first week (Biden’s 27 to Trump’s 4 and Obama’s 5), the progressives are scheming and conniving their way to the “Great Reset” without the inconvenience of legislative Congressional approval.

The first rash of executive orders, policy pronouncements, administrative memorandum and other similar decrees were centered most around fundamental and lasting changes concerning America’s energy security. Chief among these is the order halting the Keystone Pipeline project which is currently employing over 11,000 direct high-paying jobs and an estimated 60,000 in downstream employment. But that was only the beginning.

Numerous other executive actions have shuttered oil and gas leases in the Alaska National Wildlife Rescue, placed a moratorium on all oil and gas production on federal lands and, of course, attempts to rejoining the American job-whacking Paris Climate Accords.

The oil and gas producers across our nation provide millions of high paying careers as well as an affordable and secure supply of energy for America and her $21 trillion industrial economy. These new “green” measures will not lead our country forward, but rather undermine our prosperity, innovation and national security. And cost our nation dearly in millions of lost jobs and a return to a reliance on importing oil from dangerous parts of the world.

Most urgently, these actions will have immediate and disastrous effects on jobs and economic growth at a time when our nation is still reeling from the pandemic and high unemployment. Simply put, this leftist agenda, once realized, will do irreparable harm to the economic landscape for generations to come.

And if you wonder what America will look like in the future under these “climate control” edicts, one need only look to California, which has imposed “green” energy standards for more than two decades. That state’s recent power blackouts and outrageously expensive energy costs forecast a dire economic consequence and an unreliable future. Is it any wonder businesses can’t leave the state fast enough? It’s not a golden sight.

Next on the Biden vision for America is to silence conservative critics. Despite his calls for “unity”, Biden’s executive actions have the effect of circumventing Congress and thereby silencing any dissenting (read, conservative) points of view. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt to fill your administration and DOJ with Big Tech and social media executives to ensure the public discourse continues to crowd out conservative viewpoints.

Which brings us to the most outrageous actions of Biden’s first two week’s penmanship: his unilateral determination to remove the barriers for men to compete in girl’s sports. Besides the obvious potential of heightened criminality as well as the awkwardness of locker rooms and showers, what is the point of allowing men to destroy women’s competition? Does one think this will advance some unrealized woman’s rights agenda? It will only lead to the end of all women’s sports. How is this helpful to women, much less just?

There certainly isn’t any mandate from this past election to impose these radical leftist schemes on America. No one wants to trade fewer good-paying American jobs for higher energy costs, less free and open debate, and men in women’s track shoes.

Why circumvent the congressional process entirely if you have a mandate? It’s because even they know they don’t have the best interests of the American people in this agenda and certainly no mandate for all this extreme leftism.

It’s clear the recent Biden overreach needs to end up in Article 3 Courts where it can be short-circuited and we can return our nation to the founding constitutional principles of open debate, checks and balances and congressional lawmaking. This would take the pen out of Biden’s hand, at once and for good.
