I thought I'd share with you this morning a preview I did on the radio show of tomorrow night's GOP debate on CNN. It's only a minute-and-a-half so I won't give away the whole thing by writing exactly what I said. I will say this, though: Given the number of candidates and the time available, you know that no one is going to have time to dig deep into the substance of issues.
What they will have time to do is say something designed to generate headlines - whether that comes in the form of an oh-so-clever attack on Donald Trump or something else. Which ones do you suppose need most desperately to try something like that?
Here are my full thoughts:
Herman Cain is a conservative radio host of CainTV, a 2012 GOP presidential primary candidate with over 40 years of experience in the private sector as an analyst for Coca-Cola, an executive at Pillsbury, a regional Vice President for Burger King, and CEO of Godfather's Pizza. Cain served as Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and a supervisory mathematician for the Dept. of the Navy.
