Arkansas Citizens Question Validity of Mexican Consular ID Card

Even though the new Mexican consulate in Arkansas, situated in Little Rock, does not open its doors to the public until the beginning of March, there are already Arkansans speaking out that registrations consular will send off the new diplomatic representation, only promoting the arrival of more illegal immigrants to the state.

The Mexican government asserts that the American institutions are the ones that should decide for themselves if they accept the registration or not.

But critics say that only the illegal foreigners have a need of the registrations because the national Mexicans that reside legally in the U.S. already have Social Security cards, “Green” cards, driver's licenses or other legal forms of identification. Nearly 6.3 million Mexicans live illegally in the U.S., according to the estimations of Centró Hispanico Pew, an organization of investigation based in Washington DC., and of the total 40,000 illegal foreigners of diverse ethnic origins, they live in Arkansas.

Navy dismisses chaplain who prayed 'in Jesus' name'

"We are homeless, jobless, and we are in God's hands," says Klingenschmitt. A U.S. Navy chaplain who prayed "in Jesus' name" as his conscience dictated is being ejected from the military service "in retaliation" for his victorious battle to change Navy policy that required religious rites be "non-sectarian." "This fight cost me everything. My career is over, my family is now homeless, we've lost a million dollar pension, but Congress agreed with me and rescinded the Navy policy, so chaplains are free again to pray in Jesus' name," Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt told WorldNetDaily. "My sacrifice purchased their freedom. My conscience is clear, the fight was worth it, and I'd do it all again" . . . [Click for more]

Speaker Pelosi to monitor your church via the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2007

by Jay Sekulow (1/12/07) : Nancy Pelosi hasn't been Speaker of the House for two weeks yet and there is already proposed legislation which would be the most significant encroachment ever into the affairs and ability of churches and other organizations to communicate.Under the guise of lobbying reform, Speaker Pelosi and others have proposed legislation greatly expanding the scope of lobbying regulation which would have a significant impact on churches, pastors, religious denominations, public interest organizations, civic organizations and other nonprofit groups . . . Grassroots freedom of speech threatened - Action Needed!

Several grassroots orgs are sending out similar warnings to the following. We posted comments last Friday (Jan 5th) http://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/2007/01/others-concerned-for-assault-on-our.html . Below is another input on this risk to our free speech:

NewsMax: Grassrootsfreedom.com Chairman Richard A. Viguerie, direct-mail guru and author of "Conservatives Betrayed: How the Republican Party Hijacked the Conservative Cause", warns, "the Senate is debating legislation that will silence many grass-roots organizations. The lobbying initiative titled the "Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2007, has a major Trojan horse. Section 220 of this bill requires grass-roots communications to be subject to onerous registration and reporting requirements that actually exceed what is required of the big Washington, D.C., lobbyists," . . .

What Thomas Jefferson learned from the Muslim book of Jihad

U.S. Veteran Dispatch article by Ted Sampley -- Excerpted info: Dem. Keith Ellison is now officially the first Muslim U.S. congressman. True to his pledge, he placed his hand on the Quran, the Muslim book of jihad and pledged his allegiance to the U.S. during his ceremonial swearing-in. The Quran Ellison used was once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States and one of America's founding fathers. Ellison borrowed it from the Rare Book Section of the Library of Congress. There is no doubt Ellison was right about Jefferson believing wisdom could be "gleaned" from the Muslim Quran. At the time Jefferson owned the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic "Barbary" states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.

In 1786, Jefferson, America's ambassador to France, and Adams, America's ambassador to Britain, met in London with Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the "Dey of Algiers" ambassador to Britain. The Americans wanted to negotiate a peace treaty based on Congress' vote to appease. During the meeting Jefferson and Adams asked Adja why Muslims held so much hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts. In a later meeting with the American Congress, the two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam "was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise."

For the next 15 years, America paid the Muslims millions of dollars for the safe passage of American ships and the return of American hostages. In 1800, the ransom and tribute amounted to 20 percent of U.S. government's annual revenues. Not long after Jefferson's inauguration as president in 1801, he dispatched a group of frigates to defend American interests in the Mediterranean, and informed Congress that America was going to spend "millions for defense but not one cent for tribute," Jefferson deployed the Marines and many of America's best warships to the Muslim Barbary Coast.>

During his administration, the Muslim Barbary States, crumbed as a result of intense American naval bombardment and on shore raids by Marines. Jefferson's victory over the Muslims lives on today in the Marine Hymn, with the line, "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our country's battles on the land as on the sea." Jefferson had been right. The "medium of war" was the only way to put and end to the Muslim problem. Mr. Ellison was right about Jefferson. He was a "visionary" wise enough to read and learn about the enemy from their own Muslim book of jihad. Read Full Article

Corporate supporters of Planned Parenthood

ARRA Blog News: Life Decisions International has released a revised edition of The Boycott List, which identifies corporations that are boycott targets due to their support of Planned Parenthood, the world's primary abortion-advocacy group. "As a direct result of the commitment, action and prayers of pro-family people, at least 137 corporations have stopped funding Planned Parenthood," said LDI President Douglas R. Scott, Jr. It is estimated that the boycott has cost Planned Parenthood more than $35 million since the Corporate Funding Project (CFP) began some 15 years ago. "This should be a testament to those who believe it is impossible to change corporate philanthropic behavior," Scott said . . . [Click for more]

President Bush Addresses Nation on Iraq

ARRA Blog News: President Bush addressed the nation last night (1/10/06) and called for a new direction in Iraq. Excerpts -- link to the full text is provided: "The situation in Iraq is unacceptable to the American people -- and it is unacceptable to me. Our troops in Iraq have fought bravely. They have done everything we have asked them to do. Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me. It is clear that we need to change our strategy in Iraq.

So my national security team, military commanders, and diplomats conducted a comprehensive review. ... the main elements of this effort: The Iraqi government will appoint a military commander and two deputy commanders for their capital. The Iraqi government will deploy Iraqi Army and National Police brigades across Baghdad's nine districts. When these forces are fully deployed, there will be 18 Iraqi Army and National Police brigades committed to this effort, along with local police. These Iraqi forces will operate from local police stations -- conducting patrols and setting up checkpoints, and going door-to-door to gain the trust of Baghdad residents.

This is a strong commitment. But for it to succeed, our commanders say the Iraqis will need our help. So America will change our strategy to help the Iraqis carry out their campaign to put down sectarian violence and bring security to the people of Baghdad. This will require increasing American force levels. So I've committed more than 20,000 additional American troops to Iraq. The vast majority of them -- five brigades -- will be deployed to Baghdad. These troops will work alongside Iraqi units and be embedded in their formations. Our troops will have a well-defined mission: to help Iraqis clear and secure neighborhoods, to help them protect the local population, and to help ensure that the Iraqi forces left behind are capable of providing the security that Baghdad needs. ...

In these dangerous times, the United States is blessed to have extraordinary and selfless men and women willing to step forward and defend us. These young Americans understand that our cause in Iraq is noble and necessary -- and that the advance of freedom is the calling of our time. They serve far from their families, who make the quiet sacrifices of lonely holidays and empty chairs at the dinner table. They have watched their comrades give their lives to ensure our liberty. We mourn the loss of every fallen American -- and we owe it to them to build a future worthy of their sacrifice.

Fellow citizens: The year ahead will demand more patience, sacrifice, and resolve. It can be tempting to think that America can put aside the burdens of freedom. Yet times of testing reveal the character of a nation. And throughout our history, Americans have always defied the pessimists and seen our faith in freedom redeemed. Now America is engaged in a new struggle that will set the course for a new century. We can, and we will, prevail. We go forward with trust that the Author of Liberty will guide us through these trying hours. ..." Read the full text of his speech.

Gov. Beebe's State-of-the-State Remarks - Only proposes a 50% cut in state food taxes

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Beebe says the state has a moral charge to eliminate the state sales tax on food. He says the tax is the most regressive tax in Arkansas. Beebe says he will ask legislators to phase out the tax with a 50 percent cut...three cents from the six-cent tax. He didn't give a timetable for when the remaining portion of the tax should be eliminated.

The governor says the state needs to shed its negative stereotypes and become recognized for its high-tech centers and innovations in agriculture. In his first state-of-the state address, Beebe called for an array of improvements to state services, from education to elder care. Beebe proposed funding increases for public schools, saying much of the state's $843 million surplus should go to school facilities.[KAIT K8 TV]

Democrat Mike Beebe is Arkansas' 45th Governor

After 10 years of being held by Republican Mike Huckabee who was term limited, the office of Arkansas Governor passed back into the hands of a democrat. Former Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe officially became the states 45th Governor. After taking the oath of office Mike Beebe delivered his inaugural address. Before a crowd of almost two-thousand people Beebe outlined his top priorities as he enters office. He focused on education, economic development, and tax relief. He ran on the campaign slogan, believing in Arkansas. And his first speech as Governor focused on turning that principle into practice.

Mexican gunmen involved in Arizona border incident actually a uniformed Mexican force

EuphoricReality.com: The incursion into U.S. territory last week by "Mexican gunmen" was not a chance confrontation between the Arizona National Guard and untrained illegal immigrants, but a deliberate "perimeter probe" by an infantry-trained, uniformed Mexican force, officials say.

Euphoric Reality has learned in exclusive interviews with high-ranking sources within both the Arizona National Guard and the U.S. Border Patrol that the incident the mainstream media calls a "standoff" was in reality a military-style operation, carried out by a unit of Mexican men dressed in military uniforms, flak jackets, and armed with AK-47s in an apparent operation to probe the border defenses and test the limits of the National Guard troops . . . Amniotic fluid better than human embryos, scientists say

Leading abortion activist will help John Edwards' presidential campaign

One of the top abortion activists in the United States has signed on to assist former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards as he undertakes a second campaign for president. Kate Michelman, who was the president of NARAL for almost 20 years, will serve as a senior campaign advisor.

Why Is Congress Ignoring The Incredible Promise Of Adult Stem Cells?

Liberal Republicans and Democrats in Congress are rushing to overturn President Bush’s ban on expanded use of human embryos in stem cell research this week. Under consideration this week is H.R. 3, a bill that is designed to institutionalize the killing of unborn humans for their stem cells.

Why are liberals so determined to expand on the killing of the unborn? They already vigorously defend the so-called “right” of an abortionist to “terminate” the life of unborn children—even those in the ninth month of life. What drives these individuals to now view human embryos as spare body parts for others? But, more to the point: Why do liberals consistently refuse to consider the promising results of adult stem cells, which are already being used to cure diseases? [Read More ...]

My ideal GOP presidential candidate

By Gregg Jackson author of "Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies": There has been and will continue to be a great deal of speculation surrounding which Republican candidate has the best chance of succeeding President Bush in 2008. Some Republicans have suggested that only a "centrist" Republican such as Rudy Giuliani or John McCain can win. If history has taught us anything, it has taught us that checkered pants "Rockefeller Republicans" don't win landslides. Reagan-style conservatives do.

This past November, voters made it clear that the Republican Party had moved too far left, especially on entitlement spending and immigration. I believe the candidate with the best chance of winning a Reagan landslide would be solidly conservative both fiscally and socially and would be able to clearly articulate a bold conservative vision for America . . . Liberals will argue GOP has abandoned Christian values

by D.R. Tucker: Will 2008 be the year that Christianity goes secular? Although similar claims have been made about the 2000 and 2004 elections, the next presidential election will unquestionably be one of the most consequential in U.S. history. A significant factor in this election will be the left's effort to finally achieve a goal it has pursued for decades: convincing a majority of Americans that liberal "social justice" and traditional Christianity are one and the same. For years, the left has pushed the notion that a permanent welfare state, social "nonjudgmentalism," environmental eccentricity, staunch pacifism, and wealth redistribution are virtues consistent with the teachings of Jesus. Giuliani tops in early GOP polls -- Why?

If the polls are to be believed, Republicans want to nominate an pro-choice, anti-gun, thrice-married, New York City champion of gays and illegal aliens for president in 2008. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani — at least on paper — is precisely the sort of candidate that most conservatives would vote against in a GOP presidential primary.

His first marriage, to a second cousin, was annulled after being married for 14 years. During his second marriage, he began dating a third woman and moved in with a gay couple. In order to clear the way for his third marriage, Giuliani called a news conference to announce plans for a divorce from his surprised second wife, who accused him of “open and notorious adultery” with a fourth woman.

“I’ve said that I’ll uphold a woman’s right of choice, that I will fund abortion so that a poor woman is not deprived of a right that others can exercise, and that I would oppose going back to a day in which abortions were illegal,” Giuliani told talk show host Phil Donahue during his first run for mayor in 1989. “If the ultimate choice of the woman — my daughter or any other woman — would be that in this particular circumstance to have an abortion, I’d support that. I’d give my daughter the money for it,” he added.

Although Giuliani, a former prosecutor, has called for tougher security along the U.S.-Mexico border, he has also bragged of providing city services to the multitudes of illegal immigrants flooding New York City. Perhaps the only thing that could make conservatives hold their noses and vote for Giuliani is the fear that Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York would otherwise win the White House.

Giuliani’s positions on the issues
Abortion: Opposes ban on partial-birth abortion.
Gay marriage: Opposes constitutional ban. “I’m pro-gay rights.”
Gun control: Supports ban on assault weapons. As mayor, he called on New Yorkers “to re-energize the fight for gun control.”
Immigration: “We got to stop illegals from coming in,” he recently told Fox News. “And a tremendous amount of money should be put into the physical security that’s needed to do that.”
Iraq: Strongly supports President Bush’s policy.
Taxes: As mayor, reduced taxes in New York by several billion dollars.
Family: Has had three wives, Divorced twice, lived with one woman without being married.

Premeditated Merger - North American Union

How leaders are stealthily transforming USA into North American Union. It seems unthinkable. But then, so did 9/11 before it happened. Can it really be possible that Americans are witnessing a governmental program designed to merge – slowly but surely – the United States, Mexico and Canada? That question is generating a major amount of below-the-media-radar buzz. In recent months, e-mails and telephone calls have poured into radio talk shows and congressional offices asking: Is there a plan to create a "North American Union"? Will a new currency, the "amero," replace the dollar? Is it true that Mexicans will now get Social Security? Yet Congress (except for a few representatives like Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul) as well as the establishment press (with notable exceptions like CNN's Lou Dobbs) turn a blind eye – despite major evidence mounting daily. Was There a Cover-up in Oklahoma City Bombing?

Saddam's attack on America? Part 2: the cover-up: by Wes Vernon
(Washington-based writer and veteran broadcast journalist). The cover-up of the trail linking Saddam Hussein's Iraqi regime and/or other terrorists to the Oklahoma City bombing of April 19, 1995 (last week -- Part 1: The Evidence) is pervasive, bipartisan, and spans two administrations. It figures that the Clinton administration would put the lid on this scandal. That the Bush administration would also block the pursuit of any lead in the case goes to circumstances that are more complicated and mysterious . . . [Click for more]

Huckabee Leaves Office - Ready for National Spotlight

Mike Huckabee leaves office Tuesday after more than ten years as Arkansas governor. He is considering a run for the presidency in 2008 and has said he will announce his decision after he leaves office. Huckabee indicated he is ready for the national spotlight in a potential run for president. He says that every transaction he's been a part of as governor has had an extraordinary level of scrutiny so he thinks he has been somewhat prepared for the national press if he chooses to go that route. Huckabee has a term for the harsh media spotlight that some say awaits the Arkansas' governor if he jumps into the presidential race. He jokingly refers to it as "the political version of a colonoscopy.'' KAIT K8

Arkansas Lawmakers Prepare for Legislative Session

Arkansas lawmakers will meet today at the state capital for the start of a new legislative session. The 86th general assembly will be the first in more than a decade without Governor Huckabee behind the wheel. There are certainly many changes that the state capital has in store for this session: a new governor and four new senators. But the biggest change in terms of sheer numbers is in the House of Representatives. Improving infrastructure and education will top the legislative agenda, as well as several proposals to phase out the controversial grocery tax. KATV7 News Report

Israel plans strike on Iran's nuclear facilities

Dudi Cohen & Reuters 1/7/06: Israel has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons, Britain's Sunday Times newspaper said. Citing what it said were several Israeli military sources, the paper said two Israeli air force squadrons had been training to blow up an enrichment plant in Natanz using low-yield nuclear "bunker busters. To take back Congress, Republicans had better vote pro-life

The Democrats in control of Congress plan to vote next week, on January 11, 2007, on legislation to expand federal taxpayer funding of scientific experiments that require the killing of human beings at the earliest (embryonic) stage of development. If the House passes the measure, they would be overturning President Bush's veto of a similar bill passed by both Houses of Congress last year. Political analyst Bob Novak comments in the January 3, 2007 issue of the Evans-Novak Political Report that, "This is an issue where the vote will be very close on overturning President Bush's veto in both Houses. House passage over Bush's veto will be difficult, since 12 of the Republicans who lost voted for federal funding of embryo-destroying research. It is unclear how some of the new Democrats in the House will vote as well" . . . [Click for more]
