Hillary Was More Interested In Hiding Her Own Secrets Than Protecting U.S. Secrets

The Hillary Daily
by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann: In sworn testimony given in a deposition by Judicial Watch, top Clinton aide Huma Abedin revealed that she and Hillary used the private server for some government business, especially while traveling abroad.

Both Hillary and Huma knew that they were not permitted to use their devices outside the U.S. Hillary admitted that she and her aides was explicitly warned by State Dept. security experts that her phone could easily be hacked in foreign countries. In her book Hard Choices, she describes the specific instructions to refrain from using her personal Blackberry, laptops, and any other electronic devices in foreign countries.

But she completely ignored them. She was more interested in protecting her own secrets than the U.S. government secrets.

Now Huma has confirmed that she -- and her staff -- arrogantly ignored those serious warnings.

In Hard Choices, Hillary recalls that:

"When we traveled to sensitive places, like Russia, we often received warnings from Department security officers to leave our Blackberrys, laptops, anything that communicated with the outside world -- on the plane, with their batteries removed to prevent foreign intelligent services from compromising them. Even in friendly settings, we conducted business under strict security protections, taking care where and how we read secret material and used our technology."

So there's no question that she knew what she was supposed to do. She just chose to disregard it.

Emails show what Huma has now confirmed that despite the acknowledged and understood warnings, Hillary and her top aides routinely -- and carelessly -- used their Blackberrys all over the world.

She refused to use a government issued Blackberry, even though Eric Boswell, the Assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security at the time, issued another strong warning about the dangers of using an unclassified Blackberry:

"I cannot stress too strongly, however, that any unclassified Blackberry is highly vulnerable in any setting to remotely and covertly monitoring conversations, retrieving emails, and exploiting calendars."

But Hillary and her aides continued to use her unsecured Blackberry that was connected to her private server housed in the basement of her Chappaqua home.

Hillary used her "berry" as she called it, all over the world, including in unfriendly places like China, Russia.

On March 17, 2010, at a stopover in Shannon, Ireland, en route to Russia, Hillary indicated to Cheryl Mills that when was in Shannon and would be available on her Blackberry:

Although Clinton denies that her Blackberry was ever hacked, The Daily Caller has reported on a March 5, 2009 email that suggests otherwise. The email appears to be from Boswell, but is heavily redacted:

"Her attention was drawn to the sentence that indicates that we (Diplomatic Security) have intelligence concerning this vulnerability during her recent trip to China."

So what was the intelligence they had regarding the "vulnerability" of Hillary's unsecured Blackberry? Most likely that other intelligence sources found that her "berry" had been hacked.

Now Huma has testified that it was a regular practice for her, as well as Hillary, to use the basement private server in foreign countries for State Department business.

Hillary knew about the risks, was warned about the dangers and ignored those warnings. She did what she wanted -- putting U.S. secrets in jeopardy. But she made sure that her private dealings were well protected.

So where's the FBI?

Superhero Movies . . .

. . . Not What They Used To Be!
by Kerby Anderson, Contributing Author: Superhero movies aren’t what they used to be. They are bigger, bolder, but also more adult-oriented. That is not good news for parents who have kids that want to go to all of these movies.

Christopher Gildemeister (Parents Television Council) was on my radio program to talk about his article, Many Superhero Movies Not for Kids. He reminds us that originally superhero comics were for young children but later were able to attract older teens and even college students. The current trend has been to make superhero movies that attract kids and adults.

Two companies dominate the superhero world: DC and Marvel. Marvel is the home for Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, and the Avengers (including Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and Ant-Man.). DC has the more iconic superheroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Some of the movies began to become “dark” and “edgy.” The Christopher Nolan trilogy of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises are a good example. Frankly, these films may have fit the character of Batman, but it seems to have led to more and more films (especially by DC comics) that are also dark, violent, and destructive.

The recent movie, Batman vs. Superman is a good example. It was originally intended to carry an R rating, but got by with a PG-13 rating by pulling some footage. This is not the Superman from previous years.

Don’t take my word for it. One of the most compelling quotes in the article came from a man who was an artist on DC’s Supergirl comics. He lamented, “My most prominent memory as a five-year-old is my grandfather taking me to see Christopher Reeve in Superman. The fact that I can’t take my eight-year-old to a Superman movie disappoints me on a level I have trouble reconciling.”

I agree. It is a sad commentary on Hollywood movie producers when we can’t take our kids or grand kids to see Superman, a man who used to stand for truth, justice, and the American way.

Why Trump Is Routing the Free Traders

by Patrick Buchanan: In Tuesday’s indictment of free trade as virtual economic treason, The Donald has really set the cat down among the pigeons.

For, in denouncing NAFTA, the WTO, MFN for China and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, all backed by Bush I and II, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, Trump is all but calling his own party leaders dunderheads and losers.

And he seems to be winning the argument.

As he calls for the repudiation of “globalism” and a return to “Americanism,” a Republican Congress renders itself mute on whether it will even vote on the TPP this year.

On trade, Bernie Sanders is closer to Trump. Even Hillary Clinton has begun to renounce a TPP she once called the “gold standard” of trade deals.

Where have all the troubadours of free trade gone? Why do economic patriots seem ascendant? Is this like the Cold War, where the other side gets up and goes home?

Answer. As Trump pointed out in Monessen in the Mon Valley of Pennsylvania, the returns from free trade are in, and the results are rotten.

Since Bush I, we have run $12 trillion in trade deficits, $4 trillion with China. Once a Maoist dump, China has become the greatest manufacturing power on earth. Meanwhile, the U.S. has lost 50,000 factories and a third of its manufacturing jobs.

Trump is going to start a “trade war,” wail the critics.

But the damage wreaked upon U.S. industry by free traders already rivals what Arthur “Bomber” Harris did for German industry in the Ruhr.

In recent decades, every major U.S. trade partner — China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, EU — has run annual trade surpluses at our expense. How do 40 years of trade deficits in goods, run by a nation that rarely ran one for a century before, make us stronger or wealthier?

Or is what is best for the world now more important than what is best for America?

And here we come to the heart of the argument.

Washington, Hamilton, and Henry Clay, father of the “American System,” and Lincoln and every Republican president up to Eisenhower, crafted trade policies to promote manufacturing to grow the wealth of the USA.

They were patriots not globalists.

They knew that America’s political independence required economic independence of all other nations. They wanted to build an economy where Americans would cut their bonds to foreign lands and come to rely upon one another for the needs and necessities of their national life. They sought to make us independent, so that we could not be dragged by economic ties into the inevitable wars of the Old World.

And they succeeded magnificently.

Britain, which embraced free trade in the 1840s, became so reliant on imports that a few dozen German submarines almost knocked her out of World War I. Protectionist America had to come pull her chestnuts out of the fire.

Free trade ideology is not America-made. It is an alien faith, a cargo cult, smuggled in from the old continent, the work of men Edmund Burke called “sophisters, economists, and calculators.”

David Ricardo, James and John Stuart Mill, Richard Cobden, all chatterers and scribblers, none of whom ever built a great nation, declared free trade to be the new New Testament, the salvation of mankind.

These men in whose souls the old faith was dying seized on a utopian belief that world government and free trade would be the salvation of mankind. The Economist magazine was founded to preach the heresy.

Before the modern era, Americans never bought into it. But now, our elites have. And, undeniably, there are beneficiaries to free trade.

There are first the owners, operators and shareholders of companies who, to be rid of high-wage American labor, moved production to China or Mexico or where the costs are lower and regulations near nonexistent.

Transnational companies, their K Street lobbyists, and media that survive on their advertising dollars, are the biggest boosters of free trade, as they are the biggest beneficiaries.

Consumers, too, at least initially, see more products down at the mall, selling at lower prices. Cheap consumer goods are the bribes free traders proffer to patriots to sell out their country and countrymen to capitalists who have no country.

But we are not simply consumers. We are Americans. We are fellow citizens. We are neighbors. We have duties to one another.

When a factory shuts down and a town begins to die, workers are laid off. The local tax base shrinks, education and social services are cut. Folks go on unemployment and food stamps. We all pay for that.

Wives go to work and kids come home from school to empty houses, and families break up, and move away. Social disintegration follows.

“Creative destruction” is the antiseptic term free traders use to describe what they have done and are doing to the America we grew up in.

Southeast of the old Steel City, in the Mon Valley of Pennsylvania, where my mother and her six brothers and her sister grew up, folks describe what happened more poignantly and graphically.

Gray Lady Casts Shadow

by Paul Jacob, Contributing Author: Earlier in the week, I noted how media manipulation of presidential poll results by not considering the Johnson and Stein campaigns distorts the race. I speculated why journalists would do such a thing, but didn’t have space for an exhaustive list.

But it’s clear that one of the things journalists aim to do is retain their once-vaunted position as gatekeepers, as the idea-people and fact-dispersers who define the terms of allowable debate.

By ignoring the competition, they narrow the terms of this year’s presidential campaign, allowing their inexplicable favorite, Hillary Clinton, an advantage going to the polls.

But poll taking and reporting is not the half of it. Tim Graham, writing at Newsbusters, notes how the Gray Lady rigs the intellectual field. “The New York Times appears to be playing games again with conservative authors, trying to keep them off its vaunted (and secretively manipulated) Best Sellers list. This has happened to Ted Cruz, to Dinesh D’Souza, and to David Limbaugh.”

And now, Graham tells us, it’s happening to Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel, whose new book, The Intimidation Game: How the Left Is Silencing Free Speech, has been doing gangbusters on BookScan’s bestseller list.

The new exposé is sixth on BookScan’s hardcover list. But it’s not even made an appearance on the Times’ “list of the top 20 hardcover bestsellers, despite outselling books that did make the list.”

Would the Gray Lady dare manipulate the figures . . . just to suppress an idea it doesn’t like?

That is, the idea that the Left suppresses speech.

It’s almost too rich to be true.

This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

Pentagon’s Transgender Policy Defies Common Sense

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter dishonors their sacrifices
by suggesting that these Americans who actually died for
the Constitution failed to live by the Constitution themselves.
by Roger Severino: On Thursday, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced that the U.S. military is dropping its policy of treating male and female troops according to their biology—to be replaced by a policy based on a radical new gender ideology.

This change was not precipitated by military needs but by political correctness. After all, the military is not stretched so thin that it must make special accommodations to help attract the estimated 0.6 percent of Americans who self-identify as transgender in order to effectively fight and win our wars.

Moreover, people with gender dysphoria are allowed to serve, and many have served honorably, so long as their condition or treatments do not interfere with combat readiness.

What the military did not allow before today was the disruption to morale, privacy, and readiness that results from a male serviceman demanding the “right” to dress as a female, have others address him as a female, and be granted unfettered access to showers, lockers, bathrooms, and barracks designated for females. That commonsense policy, which has served our country well, was jettisoned today.

In grappling with this issue it helps to ask why the military has separate shower facilities and barracks for women and men in the first place. As with the question of women in combat, if the answer has something to do with biological realities, privacy, and interactions between the sexes, then the implications for morale and readiness are fairly evident.

But the new gender ideology ignores these facts and replaces them with subjective self-identification, so that a person’s sex is merely an arbitrary designation “assigned at birth” and one can actually be “male, female, neither, or a combination of male and female,” at least according to new mandates from the Obama administration.

Some obvious questions arise from the new policy. Will biological males who identify as female be subject to physical fitness requirements for men or women? Will they be required to do 35 pushups or 13 pushups to pass basic training? Will American taxpayers be required to pay for expensive “sex reassignment” surgeries, including breast implants in men and shaving down Adam’s apples when that money can be spent on better weapons or more training?

Will service members who have addressed an officer as “sir” for years be booted out of the military if they refuse to address him as “ma’am?” Wouldn’t the loss and impact on recruiting offset any supposed gains of allowing a relatively few transgender troops the ability to dress according to their chosen identity? These are but a few questions Carter neglected to address in his announcement.

Instead, Carter said that:Embedded within our Constitution is th[e] very principle that all Americans are free and equal. And we as an Army are sworn to protect and defend that very principle. And we are sworn to even die for that principle. So if we in uniform are willing to die for that principle then we in uniform should be willing to live by that principle. This is too much.

First, it doesn’t violate equality to recognize relevant biological realities and there is nothing in the text, structure, or history of the Constitution that elevates transgender people to a protected class akin to race.

Second, whatever one thinks of the latest Supreme Court redefinition of marriage, it did not redefine what it means to be a man and a woman for all Americans, especially in the military context.

There are painstakingly detailed regulations concerning uniforms, grooming, and even tattoo placement because troops must be trained to put the mission above self-expression, as lives depend upon it. Regulations that recognize relevant biological realities help, not hinder, the mission, and as admitted by Carter in his statement, thousands of people with gender dysphoria were already allowed to serve over the years because they respected the old policies.

Finally, there are hundreds of thousands of veterans and current troops who were traumatized, wounded, or died fighting against Nazis, Communist aggressors, and terrorists, yet, believe that biological men should not be allowed into the same barracks and showers as women.

Carter dishonors their sacrifices by suggesting that these Americans who actually died for the Constitution failed to live by the Constitution themselves. This decision has nothing to do with the Constitution and everything to do with politics and a gender ideology run amok.

Bill Tells Loretta, “Don’t Worry, Baby!”

Editor's Note. Today America heard via news reports and an interview with AG Loretta Lynch what happened when she met with Former President and potential "First Gentleman" Bill Clinton. Enjoy the the following article which shares what "really" went on in the AG's airplane. And if you laugh, we will all hear you. :)  Comments appreciated!
by Tom Balek, Contributing Author: Loretta's jet pulled off the runway and onto the tarmac at the executive end of Sky Harbor Airport. Glancing out the window she spotted a familiar sight.

"Oh look! There's Bill's plane!" she said, pointing to the big gray Gulfstream parked on the outside edge of the field. "I'd recognize it anywhere."

Moments later, her phone rang. "Hi, Loretta, it's Bill. Do you have a minute?" Soon he was bounding up the steps into her smaller, but comfortable government-issue Lear jet.

"That's a beautiful plane you have there, Bill," Loretta said.

"Oh, that old thing? It's all the foundation could afford. Shoot, you ought to see the 727 my friend Jeff Epstein had. We called it the "Lolita Express" because of all the young honeys Jeff kept on the plane for those trips to Orgy Island. Yeah, heh heh, I was on that thing about every other weekend for a few years . . . "

"Oh, um, Mr. President, I'd like you to meet my husband . . . " Loretta interrupted.

"Nice to meet you, man," Bill said, shaking hands. "You must be pretty proud of Loretta here. I remember when I put her on the bench, and now she's the AG. You know if my wife gets elected, she's going to need some good people - Supreme Court justices, cabinet positions. Of course that's if she doesn't get indicted."

"But, Mr. President, I don't think we are supposed to talk about that," Loretta said, with a worried look. "After the FBI investigations are finished, it will end up on my desk."

"Oh, I'm not worried about that, Loretta," Bill grinned. "We've been through some little scuffles like that before, and nothing ever comes of it. It's like I told Ron Brown when the FBI and all those other guys were after him, you know, right before the election? Yeah, he said he would have to testify against me and 'Hil' to the grand jury in a few days. I told him, 'Don't worry Ron, things will work out'. Too bad about that plane crash."

Loretta gulped. "But Mr. President, there is so much evidence about all the billions of dollars you and your wife raised for your foundation, and it looks like you were doing favors for other countries and bankers and . . . I just don't know how I can stop it from coming out . . . " She looked liked she might cry.

"Now, Loretta," Bill crooned, patting her on the shoulder. "You're not the first one who faced a tough decision. Our friend Vince Foster was in charge of handling the information on our little Whitewater problem, and some things for Hillary, and he was really worried too. But look, nothing came out of that either."

Bill got up to leave. "I sure do enjoy those grandbabies of mine. I've got a new one, you know."

"Yes, I have grandchildren too, from my husband's previous marriage," Loretta whispered, dabbing at her eyes with a tissue.

"Keep an eye on those grandkids," Bill said as he started back down the steps. "I'm sure nothing will happen to them. Take care now, I've got a tee time."

Is Lynch Lying?

by Gary Bauer, Contributing Author: Washington is buzzing after news broke late yesterday that former President Bill Clinton met privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch earlier this week. The meeting reportedly took place Monday evening onboard a private jet at the Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, Arizona.

According to CBS News, "President Clinton saw the attorney general on the tarmac and wanted to say hello, so he boarded her plane to talk." I'm sure he had a lot on his mind that he wanted to discuss with the attorney general.

Asked by local reporters about this impromptu meeting, Lynch said they chatted about grandchildren, golf, their travels and the Brexit vote. Lynch insisted that nothing about Benghazi or emails was mentioned.

Really? Consider me skeptical. And I'm not the only one.

The biggest national security case currently pending before the Justice Department just happens to involve the former president's wife. Not only that, the president's own foundation is also under investigation. The notion that they exchanged only pleasantries about golf and grandkids is ludicrous.

CBS News Justice reporter Paul Reid said the meeting is "shocking, absolutely shocking," adding, "The appearance of impropriety is just stunning. . . The optics of this for the investigation going forward are horrible."

Shocking. Stunning. Horrible. It is all of that and more.

Does Lynch have a habit of meeting with the spouses of individuals under FBI investigation? Of course not. She is a career prosecutor. She knows better.

So does Bill Clinton, a former lawyer himself. Even though he was disbarred, a first year law student knows this kind of meeting is unacceptable. Ah, but this is the Clintons and the rules just don't apply to them.

Even some Democrats are having trouble defending this. Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) told CNN this morning, "I do think that this meeting sends the wrong signal. . . I think she should have steered clear."

Republicans on Capitol Hill should be issuing press releases and statements today demanding that Lynch recuse herself. They should be calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor to take over the investigation of Hillary Clinton's email server and the public corruption investigation of the Clinton Foundation.

In addition, the chairman of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, Rep. Bob Goodlatte of Virginia and Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, should issue subpoenas today demanding Lynch appear before their committees to explain herself and whether she would accept this kind behavior from any prosecutor on her staff.

Disturbing Reports Surround The Murder Of 13 Year-Old Israeli Girl By A Muslim

Bill Smith. Editor, ARRA News Service: Below we have merged information from three reports by the author related to the murder of Hallel-Yaffa Ariel, a 13-year-old girl in Israel by a Muslim Terrorist.  This article would have ran yesterday but was delayed due to a power outage.
----------------------
by Daniel Greenfield: Hallel-Yaffa Ariel, a 13-year-old girl in Israel who wanted to be a dancer, was stabbed to death in her bedroom by a Muslim terrorist.
The father of 13-year-old Hallel-Yaffa Ariel, who was murdered in her sleep by a Palestinian terrorist Thursday morning, has spoken of his gifted girl's dreams of becoming a dancer.

"Last night she came back from a dance performance," Amichai Ariel recounted. "She was an amazing girl."

"She worked very hard for years to become a dancer. She put so much effort into everything she did. God gave her a great mind, lots of wisdom. She was so bright."

Yael Kabiliv, the aunt of the young girl murdered in Thursday morning’s vicious terror attack in Kiryat Arba, spoke with journalists in the Shaarei Tzedek hospital, following news that Hallel-Yaffa Ariel had succumbed to her injuries.

"A truly wonderful girl was murdered today - Hallel-Yaffa bat Rina Devorah. Hallel, my niece, was the most amazing girl in the world.”

"She had slept in late after having danced in a performance the night before. [Then], a disgusting terrorist came in and killed her while she slept in her bed."

As his wife wept beside him, Amichai said he and his daughter had planned to work together at his local winery.

"This morning at 9:30 we were supposed to work together filling bottles with wine."

"Hallel loved living here, loved the place," he continued. "She wasn't afraid of anyone. She never imagined - nor did anyone else - that an evil person, one of 1.5 billion Muslims who just want to drown the world in rivers of blood. That's what they live for. Its terrible, just think about it: A little girl who did nothing."
Unfortunately the religion of Islam commands its followers to murder non-Muslims until they submit to Islam. This latest Muslim murderer named Mohammed was following in the footsteps of the original Mohammed who began the process of ethnically cleansing Jews from the Middle East.

But the Islamic terrorism practiced by Muslims living in Israel is funded by US taxpayers. As I wrote after the murder of Taylor Force, Muslim terrorism in Israel is maintained through a system of payments by the Palestinian Authority to terrorists. The PA is funded largely by the United States.
The Palestinian Authority pays terrorists based on the amount of harm they caused and the resulting jail sentence. Had Masalha survived his attack on Taylor Force and the other victims, he would have likely been paid $2,000 a month for his act of terror. That’s pretty good money in a place where $2,000 is more like an annual income. It’s so good that that there’s no shortage of terrorists eager to kill for cash.

And the Palestinian Authority has no shortage of money to pay Muslim terrorists to kill Americans and Israelis because the terror organization which claims to be a state is subsidized by the United States with billions of dollars. In 2014, the PA spent $144 million on payments to convicted terrorists. Its terror budget benefited from Obama boosting 2014 foreign aid to the PA to $440 million. For “peace”.

Masalha is dead and will not receive the blood money he was hoping for from the Palestinian Authority, but he died knowing that his family will still be paid for his crime. In just one year, the PA paid out $78 million to the families of terrorists. Masalha’s family will receive money each month for the murder of Taylor Force. That money will come from American taxpayers. It will come from you.

Americans are paying money to Islamic terrorists who kill them. They are paying money to their families so that the terrorists know that even if they die, their families will be taken care of by their victims.
As long as we continue funding the Palestinian Authority (PA) and reciting cliches about a two-state solution, we are complicit in this form of Muslim terrorism. All taxpayer funding of the "Palestinian" cause must end.

Obama insisted that PA terror boss Abbas had "renounced violence". This was news to Abbas who had said on television that he was just like Hamas.
"I have to commend President Abbas. He has been somebody who has consistently renounced violence, has consistently sought a diplomatic and peaceful solution that allows for two states, side by side, in peace and security; a state that allows for the dignity and sovereignty of the Palestinian people and a state that allows for Israelis to feel secure and at peace with their neighbors," Obama said.

Around the time that Obama visited him, Abbas gave an interview to Putin's RT in which he claimed that he was just like Hamas.

“As far as I am concerned, there is no difference between our policies and those of Hamas. So why are they labeled as terrorists? In my opinion, [the EU] can remove Hamas [from the list], why not?”

The Palestinian Authority terrorist organization promotes and funds terrorism against Americans and Israelis. This includes the latest terror attack in which a Muslim terrorist stabbed a 13-year-old girl to death in her bedroom. The core Fatah organization quickly declared the Muslim man who was shot after murdering the young girl a martyr as Palestinian Media Watch reported.
Fatah's official Facebook page immediately posted his picture, declaring him a Martyr - "Shahid," the highest honor achievable in Islam according to the Palestinian Authority.

WAFA, the official PA news agency, likewise honored the terrorist, referring to him as a Martyr - "Shahid."

According to Palestinian Authority law, the family of today's murderer will immediately start receiving a monthly PA stipend that the PA pays to the families of all the "Martyrs."
All of this is funded by the US and overseen by Abbas, the president who won't run for election, who renounced violence.

Muslim heroism is defined somewhat differently than in the civilized world. In the civilized world, rushing into a burning building to save a 13-year-old girl makes you a hero. Among Muslims, stabbing a sleeping teenage girl in her bedroom makes you a hero.

Just ask the Muslim mother of the latest official hero of the Palestinian Authority.

WAFA, the official PA news agency, likewise honored the terrorist, referring to him as a Martyr - "Shahid."

According to Palestinian Authority law, the family of today's murderer will immediately start receiving a monthly PA stipend that the PA pays to the families of all the "Martyrs."

The mother of the terrorist told a local Hebron news network that her son was "a hero" who made her "proud":

Mother of terrorist Muhammad Taraireh: "My son is a hero. He made me proud. My son died as a Martyr defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, he [my son] has joined the Martyrs before him, and he is not better than them. Allah willing, all of them will follow this path, all the youth of Palestine. Allah be praised."
Yes he died defending the Victory Mosque constructed on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem from a teenage girl sleeping after a dance recital in her bedroom.

These people really need their own country. Preferably one that's on fire in the lowest precincts of hell.

The Sunday After Brexit

Americans also wants its Country back!
Time FOR US to GET OUT of a

by Terence Jeffrey:  It was off to one side of the train line but not too far away.

The tower of an ancient church stood up in golden sunshine. Before it and beyond it rolled fields of brilliant green, crossed by hedgerows and accented by occasional trees. Stretching out in front of the church was a small village of solid stone houses.

How old was that church? How old were those houses? How long had farmers tilled the fields around them? How long had this architecture — this village — stood in this rural part of England?

The answers were impossible for a foreigner to immediately learn as the train from Scotland rolled smoothly and rapidly southward on its journey to London — on the Sunday after the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union.

A few similar villages stood along the route: Solid old houses, towering churches, surrounding fields of green. Even the cities — where the fields were no longer seen — gave evidence of a similar pattern: houses, churches and places to produce.

All over America, too, stand towns and cities that may not be as ancient, but that reflect in their design the same essential roots: Family, faith and work.

Who should rule such places?

Should a parliament in London rule a village — or a city — in Pennsylvania? Should it govern states in the Midwest? The people of California and Oregon?

In the United States of America, the people decided 240 years ago that the British parliament did not and could not represent them. It taxed them without representation. It tried to control their economic activities. It trampled on their liberty.

So we declared our independence.

Two days before the Brexit vote, a commercial jet took off from Heathrow heading north for Edinburgh. Not long into that short journey, the plane steered to the west. Out the windows to the east, the presumed reason could be seen: a massive bank of fierce-looking clouds rising high into the heavens.

As the plane gained altitude, it bounced through the extended arms of that still gathering storm. Passengers gripped their armrests and grimaced — and prayed. In a few moments, the plane was above the clouds, streaming peacefully through clear skies, still on its way to Scotland.

In parts of southern England, the news channels reported the next day, a massive amount of rain was falling and streets were flooding. But people still went out to vote on Thursday.

"The turnout was high at 72 percent with more people turning out to vote than in last year's general election," reported the BBC.

A majority of them wanted to declare their independence from a European Union that over the years has gathered in more nations and accumulated more power over what used to be those nation's sovereign affairs.

The people of the United Kingdom voted to retain one of their greatest traditions: the right to govern themselves.

Many critics of the U.K.'s vote to leave the EU have argued that the U.K. will pay an economic price for what the majority of its people have freely chosen to do. Perhaps. But it may be much like the price that that airliner paid for changing course to avoid the center of a massive cloud formation. It hit some short-term turbulence on the way to smoother skies — and found a place where the aircraft's crew, and not external forces, would control its path and destiny.

The ultimate freedom and prosperity of the West — including in the United States — is dependent on recognizing, turning back toward and governing itself in a way that preserves and protects the inalienable rights that God has given all human beings.

The United Kingdom last week took a turn away from the centralization of government power. On the Sunday after that vote, a bright sun was shining on its heartland.

This Hidden Fact Predicts Terrorism

Editorial Cartoon by AF Branco
by Ann Coulter: How'd you like to be running a presidential campaign dependent on Muslims not acting up again between now and Nov. 8? It's getting awfully hard for the media to keep being indignant about Trump's proposed Muslim ban, as long as Muslims keep blowing things up and shooting people.

I'm assuming here that The Washington Post has not already ruled the Muslims who blew up the Istanbul Airport to be self-hating gays infected by America's culture of homophobia.

It turns out, Omar Mateen, the Orlando nightclub shooter, also wasn't a self-hating gay, despite media excitement over that rumor. The FBI has now run down every alleged gay partner of Omar's, searched his phone and computers, and the alleged gay lovers either had the wrong guy or were lying, and there's no evidence he was on any gay websites or apps.

As a Muslim immigrant explained in a curbside interview videotaped by Tony Vera at the Los Angeles International Airport recently -- before she was arrested -- "that's what we do, we bomb people."

With impeccable timing, three days before the Istanbul bombing, the liberal Guardian (UK) ran an article sneering at Brexit supporters for wanting out of the European Union before Turkey became a member and the door was thrown open to unlimited migration from this Muslim country that shares a border with Syria, Iraq and Iran.

The article by Liz Cookman was titled, "Turkey, the Brexit bogeyman, is not so different from the UK."

Liz had a lot of fun with the Brexit-supporting ninnies, so relieved that "the Turks are no longer coming." She referred to Turkey as "the country whose people Britons are apparently petrified of," despite the fact that "it turns out Britain and Turkey are not so different after all."

One way they're a little different is that Britain has fewer Muslims on hand to blow things up. The attack this Tuesday, which left dozens dead and more than 100 wounded, is the seventh major terrorist bombing in Turkey so far this year, with a total death count in the hundreds.

As with the British media, the American media keep telling us that all these Muslim terrorist attacks have nothing to do with Muslims, and Donald Trump's suggestion that we impose a temporary moratorium on Muslim immigration is madness, bigoted, racist.

Thank God Hitler didn't claim "Mein Kampf" was a holy book and the Fuhrerbunker a mosque.

Western governments have devoted incalculable resources to developing some diagnostic test other than "Muslim" to predict terrorism. As the New York Times reported earlier this year:

"What turns people toward violence -- and whether they can be steered away from it -- are questions that have bedeviled governments around the world for generations. Those questions have taken on fresh urgency with the rise of the Islamic State and the string of attacks in Europe and the United States. Despite millions of dollars of government-sponsored research, and a much-publicized White House pledge to find answers, there is still nothing close to a consensus on why someone becomes a terrorist."I have a possible indicator! M-U-S-L- ...

After the July 7, 2005, London subway bombing by Muslim terrorists that killed 52 people, the British MI5 undertook its own highly sophisticated study, examining hundreds of cases. But the UK's security agency discovered that terrorists are a wildly diverse lot. They worshipped at a variety of different mosques, for example.

Some terrorists were very religious Muslims and some barely practicing. Most were men, but some were women. There were young and old terrorists, highly educated as well as uneducated, some loners and some married with children.

So, according to MI5, the predictive power of every factor is very low -- other than: Is a Muslim.

The researchers claimed their work would "challenge the stereotypes" about who becomes a terrorist, but it pretty much confirmed mine.

Republicans who are furious with Trump for proposing that we hit the pause button on this one category of Third World mass immigration have nothing at all to say about the census report this week showing Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration act has so transformed the country that a majority of babies born in the United States today are not white.

The only thing Republicans can do is denounce Obama for not using the words "radical Islamic terrorism." (As long as they brought up Words Politicians Refuse to Use, when will the eunuchs work up the nerve to say "illegal alien," "anchor baby" and "amnesty"?)

Obama is a hapless fool, but what is so special about the words "radical Islam"? Maybe it's not radical Islam. Maybe it's just "Islam."

The reason Republicans obsess over Obama's language is that they can't go on TV and say nothing, and no one but Trump will say anything useful. To wit: Let's stop dumping a million Muslim immigrants on the country every year, some percentage of whom we know will commit mass murder.

White House Watch: Trump 43%, Clinton 39%

Rasmussen Reports (6/30/2016): The tables have turned in this week’s White House Watch. After trailing Hillary Clinton by five points for the prior two weeks, Donald Trump has now taken a four-point lead.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 43% of the vote, while Clinton earns 39%. Twelve percent (12%) still like another candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Last week at this time, it was Clinton 44%, Trump 39%. This is Trump’s highest level of support in Rasmussen Reports’ matchups with Clinton since last October. His support has been hovering around the 40% mark since April, but it remains to be seen whether he’s just having a good week or this actually represents a real move forward among voters.

Trump now earns 75% support among his fellow Republicans and picks up 14% of the Democratic vote. Seventy-six percent (76%) of Democrats like Clinton, as do 10% of GOP voters . . . [Read More]

DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson - June 2016 Porker of the Month

DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson
(Washington, D.C.) - Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) named Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson its June Porker of the Month for failing to take sufficient steps to eliminate the “nightmarish” lines at Transportation Security Administration (TSA) airport checkpoints across the nation.

Since the beginning of 2016, airline passengers have been plagued with absurdly long lines at TSA security checkpoints. American Airlines estimated that since February, long lines at Chicago’s O’Hare airport alone led to 4,000 passengers missing flights. One of Secretary Johnson’s many feeble responses to this unprecedented and unnecessary problem was to tell passengers on May 13, 2016 to simply “contemplate increased wait times as you travel.” He pledged to hire more TSA officers, while admitting that the additional staff would not improve the lengthy wait times during the summer travel season. He assured air travelers that TSA would be asking airports for help with insignificant “nonsecurity” activities like moving bins that carry laptops, shoes, and other items through scanners even though airlines already spend millions to help move travelers through TSA’s inefficient process.

Secretary Johnson and TSA officials not only blamed passengers for the delays; they also used the tired, old bureaucratic excuse that a lack of funding or resources is causing problems. However, stubborn facts contradict these claims: TSA’s fiscal year (FY) 2016 budget of $7.3 billion is one billion dollars and 16 percent higher than in FY 2007. TSA’s full-time workforce rose by 4.3 percent over the last decade, even as air travel at major airports decreased. To date, 22 airports have dropped TSA and switched to more cost-effective, flexible, and efficient private alternatives. The massive lines of outraged passengers have caused airports in Atlanta, New York, and Seattle to announce they are strongly considering privatizing security as well.

The true causes of these delays are the TSA’s bureaucratic ineptitude and its failure to reliably predict demand for TSA PreCheck, which allows passengers to bypass more intense security if they pay an $85 fee and provide a fingerprint and other background information. TSA projected 25 million people would join this program, but to date less than three million have joined.
For bringing America’s air travel to a screeching halt, failing to solve the problem, and using a bureaucratic cop-out, CAGW names Secretary Jeh Johnson its June Porker of the Month.

Citizens Against Government Waste is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government. Porker of the Month is a dubious honor given to lawmakers, government officials, and political candidates who have shown a blatant disregard for the interests of taxpayers.

What Doesn't Fly

by Paul Jacob, Contributing Author: After the Orlando massacre, isn’t it time to get guns out of the hands of . . . licensed security guards?

Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, who murdered 49 people and wounded 53 others in The Pulse nightclub, worked for the globe’s largest security firm, Britain’s G4S. He passed two background checks conducted by the company.

Mateen’s government credentials included “a Florida state-issued security guard license and a security guard firearms license.” Twice, he was investigated by the FBI, in 2013 and again in 2014, and cleared — investigations closed.

Should we talk about security failures?

Instead, a filibuster by Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy and a sit-in protest by House Democrats changed the channel to gun control. The Senate voted on four bills that threatened more than the Second Amendment. Our Fifth Amendment rights to due process were also in the sights of crusading Democrats and appeasing Republicans and still are.

Not to mention the Ninth Amendment, freedom to do all manner of things, including travel.

Hillary Clinton says that “if you’re too dangerous to get on a plane, you’re too dangerous to buy a gun.” Yet, the problem comes in government simply declaring someone too dangerous to fly or to buy a gun, without ever publicly bringing a charge — you know, with evidence — much less convicting that person of a crime.

Having a government agent place a name on a secret list doesn’t even approximate due process of law. And, accordingly, doesn’t justify stripping a person of fundamental liberties.

Terrorism is terrifying . . . but not any more so than politicians who, in pursuit of their political agendas, don’t think twice about our freedoms or their constitutional limitations.

It’s not all right.

This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

How Is Abortion Protected By The Constitution But Gun Rights Not?

Editorial Cartoon by William Warren
by Natalia Castro: As liberals around the country celebrate Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, a decisively pro-choice Supreme Court ruling on abortion, they may want to consider how the precedent set would apply to gun rights.

Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt was a 5-3 decision ruling on the concept of the “undue burden” originally established in Roe v. Wade. Roe stated, “a state has a legitimate interest in seeing to it that abortion is performed under circumstances that insure maximum safety for the patient… a statute which has the effect of placing a substantial obstacle in the path of a woman’s choice cannot be considered a permissible means of serving its legitimate ends.”

In the most recent decision, the Court ruled that Texas’ law placed too much of an obstacle to getting an abortion, reaffirming that no obstacle, such as requiring clinics to meet ambulance surgery center standards, may be used to limit this right.

But abortion is not an explicit right under the Constitution. Still, the Supreme Court refuses to allow any burden to prevent it from being exercised. The Justices continue to treat the right to abortion as a right equal in strength to the right to due process, trial by jury or free speech.

By this logic, then, federal courts should equally treat the right to keep and bear arms, a fundamental right actually included in the Constitution’s Second Amendment, with the same level of respect.

When Judge Myron Thompson wrote his decision in Planned Parenthood Southeast v. Luther Strange in the Middle District of Alabama, he explained this correlation. Writing “at its core, each protected right is held by the individual: the right to decide to have an abortion and the right to have and use firearms for self-defense. In the context of both rights, the Supreme Court recognizes that some regulation of the protected activity is appropriate, but that other regulation may tread too heavily on the right.”

He explains that since both inherently involve other individuals or potential individuals, there is a level of supervision but, in his view, any effort to deliberately prevent an abortion is as unjust as preventing gun ownership.

Now to be consistent the Supreme Court must use the logic they used in Hellerstedt once again, this time in the 9th Circuit Appeals case Peruta v. San Diego, which denies individuals the ability to carry concealed weapons without adhering to strict criteria which changes from county to county.

Arbitrary guidelines like “good moral character,” and demonstrating “good cause” outside of simply self-defense or self-interest are vague burdens governments against gun rights impose to prevent ownership. In abortion cases the Supreme Court ruled burdens just like these which are used to limit abortion rights are unconstitutional, the rulings dealing with the right of gun ownership must be viewed by the same standard.

The next Supreme Court docket will likely include the Peruta case, making it more important than ever that the Justice replacing the late Justice Scalia be one to vote in consistency with the fundamental right of being pro-choice on gun ownership.

In the last major gun rights case, D.C. v. Heller it was Justices Scalia, Roberts, Kennedy, Thomas, and Alito all voting in favor of the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms as an individual right. However, with Scalia’s passing it is more feasible than ever that if, for example, Hillary Clinton the presumed Democratic nominee, is elected president all of these established precedents protecting gun rights will be thrown away with a 5-4 decision against the second amendment.

Our next president will not just have power over the executive office but the fundamental rights of the Second Amendment to be practiced without undue burden.

Diseases Return

by Kerby Anderson, Contributing Author: Earlier this month was a celebration of “World Refugee Day.” While immigrant activists were talking about the need to provide safe places for refugees, other commentators reminded us that many diseases were making a comeback in America.

The returning diseases are: tuberculosis, mumps, measles, whooping cough, scarlet fever, and the bubonic plague. It is probably safe to say that many doctors may not have even seen some of these diseases until now. My grandfather’s doctor saw many of them in the 1930s and 1940s, but vaccines and improved public health nearly eradicated them from the population.

What changed? One word: immigration. An article in Breitbart estimates that the number of foreign-born residents in this country has increased by 31 million in the last three decades. In the past, doctors at Ellis Island were watching for signs of contagious diseases. Today immigrants coming to this country (both legally and illegally) can bring diseases into this country we haven’t seen in significant numbers in decades.

Consider tuberculosis. Back in 1986, less then a quarter (22%) of the active cases occurred in foreign born. Today, two-thirds (66%) of the active cases are foreign born. Back in 1926, there were over 200,000 cases of whooping cough. A half-century later, the disease had nearly been eliminated. By the late 1980s it crept back up, but now the cases are 30 times the number of cases reported a few decades ago. Similar increases can be found for other diseases.

The next president and the next Surgeon General will have to set forth common sense procedures to deal with diseases that are once again returning to America. The first step is to recognize that this is a problem and begin a discussion. But that won’t be easy in a politically correct culture where some believe such a discussion is anti-immigrant. It isn’t anti-immigrant, but it is anti-disease.

Run, Don’t Walk to the Nearest Brexit

by Ken Blackwell, Contributing Author: When the people of Great Britain decided to leave the European Union has energized populist movements around the globe. Some Americans wonder if Brexit previews a Donald Trump presidency.

The presumptive Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, is playing up the possibility. “Donald Trump might win—send money” is her new message.

In fact, he might win. Anything is possible in American politics. He’s been able to connect with white, working class, secular voters who until now remained Democratic or stayed home.

But the success of “Brexit” offers no guarantees. There are many differences between the United Kingdom and America.

There’s also the little matter of the upcoming campaign. The U.S. will be hearing a lot more from both of the major party candidates in the coming months. How the Brits voted in June doesn’t tell us much about who Americans are likely to choose on November 8.

Still, the British contest highlights some of the themes that might serve Trump well as he crafts his message for the general election. In the UK the working and middle classes defeated the usual business, academic, cultural, media, and political elites. Average folks can win even when it seems like most everyone “important” is against them.

One issue is self-government. Like the British, Americans want to govern themselves. We are happy to cooperate with others, including people overseas. But we don’t want to be ruled by others, just like the British decided they didn’t want to live under the EU, headquartered in Brussels. No country should turn over to other nations or organizations basic decisions, whether involving the economy, immigration, defense, or anything else.

Federalism applies the same principle at home. Why should someone in Washington decide on educational standards for every school in the U.S. or which bathroom 330 million Americans must use? Washington is looking a lot like Brussels, filled with large, ugly, unnecessary buildings packed with people most skilled at ordering everyone else around. Most decisions in life can and should be decided closer to home.

Uncontrolled immigration is unacceptable. A country must control its border and decide who to admit. Choices have to be made on who can enter, and the national government is responsible for making those decisions. Immigration has many impacts, including security, which Trump has emphasized. Political correctness is no excuse for ignoring the risk of terrorism.

Public officials should be held accountable. In general, look at the mess in Washington. I sometimes wonder if anything is working.

Four Americans, including a U.S. ambassador representing his country, died at Benghazi. Yet no important decision-maker has been held accountable. Government leadership should not be a responsibility-free job.

Politicians and bureaucrats are constant threats to liberty. They just don’t change. The Eurocrats, who run the EU’s many institutions, overrode public opposition again and again. When a constitution for the EU was voted down in 2005, Brussels decided to enact the same thing via the Lisbon Treaty. When Irish voters turned that down, they were pushed to vote again until they voted the right way. Eurocrats never take no for an answer.

It’s the same in America: special interests lobby for subsidies and regulations until they wear down the other side. We need a president prepared to say not just no, but h--- no!

The challenges facing America transcend partisan lines. In Britain opposition to the EU was not limited to traditionally “conservative” or “right-wing” forces. Indeed, some of the strongest support for “Brexit” came from working class voters in traditional Labour Party neighborhoods.

It’s the same in America. The systems for education, immigration, job creation, assimilation, and more are broken. The battle is not between Republican and Democrat, but between those who recognize the need for tough solutions and those satisfied with the status quo.

Economic stagnation is a particularly serious concern. The Obama recovery is barely that, as his administration has swamped the economy with job-killing regulations. But the answer is not the usual bipartisan, establishment panaceas: generous corporate welfare, useless “stimulus” pork barrels, and the like.

Perhaps most important, Donald Trump must continue giving voice to those who believe they have been ignored, dismissed, and mistreated. He can’t do that to the exclusion of speaking to others, especially entrepreneurs who help make America a success. Rather, he must expand the Republican Party’s appeal beyond those comfortable with the past.

Brexit demonstrates that the underdog can win, and that includes Donald Trump. But he will triumph only if he can connect with more people. That will require picking up many of the same themes which led the British to vote to leave the EU.

Trump, Brexit, Iceland, Turin, and Rome

by Newt Gingrich: There has been a lot of commentary about the British decision to leave the European Union and its implications for Trump and the American presidential race.

Trump was at his golf course in Turnberry, Scotland the day after the vote. He was enthusiastic about Brexit and claimed it was a model for the American choice. He suggested the British hostility to bureaucracy in Brussels paralleled the American hostility to bureaucracy in Washington. He felt the concerns about massive immigration and Syrian refugees were the same in both countries. He drew a direct comparison between the British desire to be independent again and the American desire to put America first in foreign relations. And of course, he did the entire press conference wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Clinton took the opposite approach. Despite the defeat of the British establishment and its “Remain” campaign, she was committed to stability and risk avoidance. She emphasized the dangers of Brexit whereas Trump had emphasized the opportunities.

Yet focusing on Brexit creates much too narrow a basis for understanding the winds of change sweeping through the Western world
.
The first harbinger of change this year was May 23, the day of the Austrian presidential elections.

In the first round, the two parties that had dominated Austria for the past half-century came in fourth and fifth. An independent came in third. The two formerly minor parties in the run-off were a hardline conservative anti-immigrant candidate and a green who favored more immigration. The entire national establishment mobilized to block the anti-immigrant candidate. He got 49.65 percent of the vote.

The second big signal of change was the Italian municipal elections. Out of disgust with widespread corruption, an Italian comedian named Beppe Grillo launched the Five Star Movement in 2009. In the 2013 elections, it came in second. This month, the Five Star Movement candidates won the mayor’s offices in both Turin and Rome.

Virginia Raggi, 37, became the first female mayor in Rome’s 2,800-year history. In the midst of a corruption scandal which forced the previous mayor to resign, Raggi got 67 percent of the vote against the Prime Minister’s party. In Turin, the results were similar and the reform movement won in 17 other cities.

Brexit, then, was at least the third big-change election in the West this year. The entire British establishment, the business leadership, President Obama and Hillary Clinton all came out for the Remain side. They lost 52-48 in a stunning upset which the polls did not predict. In England and Wales, the margins were much higher as people voted to make Britain independent again.

Fourth and finally, last Sunday was the little-noticed election of a new president in Iceland. The former president had resigned in a scandal caused by release of the Panama Papers. He had broken no laws but his previously secret investments were very unpopular. The winner of the presidential elections with 39 percent of the vote was Gudni Johannesson, a history teacher. Second, with 28 percent of the vote, was Halla Tomasdottir, a businesswoman. The leading professional politician, a former prime minister, got 13 percent.

These results from four different countries show a consistent momentum toward throwing out established politicians and rejecting the establishment.

There are real warnings here for Clinton and real signs of encouragement for Trump.
