Biden on Trans Agenda: 'I Will Flat out Change the Law'

by Tony Perkins: Most Americans were under the impression that this week's presidential debate had been canceled. Then they turned on NBC and realized they were wrong. The only change, it turns out, is that the "Today" show's Savannah Guthrie was taking on the president in what the network hilariously billed as a "townhall." Twenty minutes into Guthrie's interrogation, not one audience member had asked a question. It was a stark contrast to the Joe Biden lovefest happening on ABC, where even softball questions were changed out for Nerfs.

Of course, the president predicted the "townhall" would be an ambush, even tweeting beforehand: "I will be doing a major Fake @NBCNews Town Hall Forum, live tonight from Miami, at 8:00 P.M... I wonder if they'll treat me as well as Sleepy Joe? They should!" They didn't. From demanding he again denounce white supremacy to haranguing him about the virus, the debate wasn't about getting in legitimate policy questions but giving the leftist press a free shot at Trump. By the event's conclusion, it was such a set-up that even MSNBC's Rachel Maddow felt compelled to distance her sister network from the debacle, saying, "Let me remind you that what you just saw was a production of NBC News," she said. "We are MSNBC. We did not produce that event."

Meanwhile, over at kid-gloved ABC, Joe Biden wasn't asked a single question about the bombshell Hunter Biden reports, which nearly broke the internet Wednesday when the New York Post released his emails. Despite the fact that it may have been a criminal abuse of the former vice president's power -- agreeing to pay-to-play meetings arranged by his son -- and despite new revelations that Hunter may have pursued lucrative off-the-book deals with China, Stephanopoulos ignored the allegations completely. "Tonight," the Wall Street Journal had written, "represents an opportunity for ABC to set itself apart from the raft of media companies, new and old, that have dedicated the last 36 hours to suppressing a damning report about their favorite candidate." Separate themselves, it did not.

Despite the gentle questioning, Biden still managed to provide plenty of shocking moments. When Stephanopoulos finally asked about an issue of significance -- court packing -- the vice president first said he wasn't "a fan," then insisted it would all hinge on the Amy Coney Barrett vote. "It depends on how this turns out," he went on. "How it's handled." "What does that mean?" Stephanopoulos asked, "'how it's handled?' How will that determine -- " "It depends on how much they [Republicans] rush this," Biden fired back. So, Stephanopoulos prodded, "If they vote on [her] before the election, you are open to expanding the court?" "I'm open to considering what happens from that point on," Biden answered -- in other words a Harris-Biden administration will pack the court.

Then, in one particularly troubling conversation with the mother of a transgender-identifying third-grader, Biden had an exchange that should have stopped every American in their tracks.

Then, in one particularly troubling conversation with the mother of a transgender-identifying third-grader, Biden had an exchange that should have stopped every American in their tracks.MIEKE HAECK: I'm the proud mom of two girls, 8 and 10. My youngest daughter is transgender. The Trump administration has attacked the rights of transgender people... How will you as president reverse this dangerous and discriminatory agenda and ensure that the lives and rights of LGBTQ people are protected under U.S. law?

BIDEN: I will flat out just change the law. Every -- eliminate those executive orders, number one... The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, 'You know, I decided I want to be transgender. That's what I think I'd like to be. It would make my life a lot easier.' There should be zero discrimination. And what's happening is too many transgender women of color are being murdered. They're being murdered. And I think it's up now to 17, don't hold me to that number. But it's -- it's higher now?... And that's just this year. And so I promise you there is no reason to suggest that there should be any right denied your daughter or daughters, whichever one or two... One, your daughter -- that your other daughter has a right to be and do. None, zero...
Joe Biden, the man vying to be your next president, thinks eight-year-olds have the capacity to make life-altering decisions to change their gender. And if you -- the parent, doctor, or any other adult -- try to stop them, it's "discrimination!" On day one of his administration, he's announced, he'll even punish you for trying. He doesn't care that there's no scientific evidence proving these treatments are safe. He doesn't care that 98 percent of boys and 88 percent of girls grow out of it. Or that it's been called "child abuse" by the American College of Pediatricians. He doesn't even care that hundreds of teenagers who've transitioned are pleading with adults to stop others from making the mistake. What do they care about? Nothing -- except the approval of radical LGBT activists.

The idea that anyone -- let alone a candidate for the highest office in the land -- would want to lock hurting children into a lifetime of misery is unconscionable. Parents of the teenagers who've walked that path will tell you what comes next: heartbreak. "Once we have cut that beautiful body, when the voice is permanently broken, the beard is there for good, the breasts are gone, what happens if the body was never wrong to start with? What will you tell the daughters [who] realize, too late, that they have destroyed their ability to bear children, or to nurse them?" Girls like Sydney Wright say, "I was struggling with a big hole in my heart." But instead of helping her, adults pushed her down a path that has permanently scarred her. "Nobody told me," she said emotionally, "that most people outgrow their feelings."

Joe Biden isn't just wrong, he's dangerous. And in a brand-new publication, "Do Not Sterilize Children," just released today, FRC's Peter Sprigg explains why.

Court Packing Is No Hypothetical

Michael Barone
by Michael Barone: On Monday, Joe Biden finally broke his monthslong silence on court packing. Previously, he refused to take a stand -- "whatever position I take in that, that'll become the issue," he said in the Sept. 29 debate, said voters didn't "deserve to know" his position or would know it "when the election is over,"

His media cheerleaders like CNN's Don Lemon said questions about court packing were just "hypothetical" -- a tautology, since any question about what a candidate would do is hypothetical, since it depends on who wins the election.

But on Monday, Oct. 9, Biden changed his tune. In an interview with WKRC Cincinnati, he said: "I'm not a fan of court packing. But I don't want to get off on that whole issue." Presumably, he noticed that packing the Supreme Court doesn't poll well: a Washington Examiner/YouGov poll showed 47% of voters opposed to expanding the number of Supreme Court justices and only 35% in favor.

More evidence of its unpopularity is that Democrats stopped using the term "court packing" -- in common use since Franklin Roosevelt called for adding up to six new justices in 1937, 83 years ago -- and started arguing that adding new justices would be "depoliticizing." George Orwell, call your office.

More evidence of its unpopularity is that Democrats stopped using the term "court packing" -- in common use since Franklin Roosevelt called for adding up to six new justices in 1937, 83 years ago -- and started arguing that adding new justices would be "depoliticizing." George Orwell, call your office.

Biden's swerve is obviously unconvincing, and not just because he opposed court packing for years; he opposed government-paid abortions for decades, and then switched this cycle. "I'm not a fan of court packing," translated into English, means, "I'll pack the court if I get the votes." Which he might well: Polls show Biden well ahead and Democrats in shape to win a majority in the Senate. At which point, court packing could become one of the first orders of business.

Similarly, during the 2018 campaign, Democratic House candidates downplayed talk of impeachment, as my colleague Byron York notes. But once in office, these seemingly thoughtful moderates from upscale districts all dutifully voted for impeachment. Similarly, despite ominous polls, Speaker Nancy Pelosi squeezed out a majority for Obamacare in 2010. "Don't listen to what they say now," York tweets. "They'll do it if they can."

What would a packed Supreme Court, with four new seats giving Democratic-appointed justices a 7-6 majority (or 9-6 with six new seats), do? For a forecast, consider the recommendations of Harvard Law Professor Mark Tushnet, made back in May 2016 when he was looking forward to a Hillary Clinton presidency, which would have produced a 6-3 majority of Democratic-appointed justices.

Tushnet called for a "hard line" on "culture war" issues. He leaves little doubt he'd like a packed court to deny tax exemptions to churches which refuse to host same-sex marriages and to uphold banning of books attacking political candidates in the run-up to elections.

These are both positions that Obama administration lawyers told the Supreme Court would be serious possibilities after the Obergefell case legalizing same-sex marriage and after an overruling of Citizens United upholding corporations' free speech rights. The Heller decision upholding the "right to keep and bear arms" is a clear candidate for rollback.

Tushnet also calls for the summary overturning of the Casey precedent, which allows some state restrictions on abortions, and of Buckley v. Valeo, which said some campaign finance limitations violate the First Amendment. He would silently repeal part of the 1964 Civil Rights Act by fully embracing racial quotas and preferences in employment and education.

This doesn't exhaust the list of ways in which national policy could be permanently altered, over the objections of public opinion, by the activist liberal Supreme Court majority that's the goal of court packing advocates. The practical changes would be much greater than even an overturning of Roe v. Wade, which would leave in place laws allowing abortion in states where more than 80 percent of abortions have been taking place.

As a political issue, court packing has been dangerous not only for Biden but for Democratic Senate candidates. The Washington Examiner/YouGov poll shows that only 32% of independents favor court packing and only 30% of voters want a Supreme Court that is slightly, mostly or overwhelmingly liberal.

No wonder that Democratic Senate candidates, like Biden, have been scampering away from the issue, suggesting that they'd never support court packing while leaving them an excuse to do so.

So, there's an excellent chance President Biden and a Democratic Senate would violate longstanding norms by abolishing the filibuster and packing the Court: "The argument that we needed a Republican Congress to keep President Clinton in check is what helped Senate Republicans run 2 points ahead of Trump in 2016," writes Republican consultant Patrick Ruffini. Will a similar argument hold the Senate or the presidency for Republicans this year?

Can Trump Pull a Second Rabbit Out of the Hat?

by Patrick J. Buchanan: Still, this thing is not over. For, at this stage of the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton was showing equally impressive poll numbers, and she would go on to lose all eight of those battleground states in the greatest upset since Harry Truman defeated Tom Dewey in 1948.

Apres moi, la deluge,” predicted Louis XV after his army’s stunning defeat by Prussia’s Frederick the Great at the Battle of Rossbach in 1757.

“La deluge,” the Revolution, came, three decades later, to wash the Bourbon monarchy away in blood and to send Louis XV’s grandson, Louis XVI, and his queen, Marie Antoinette, to the guillotine.

Donald Trump is issuing similar warnings for the republic if Joe Biden wins the presidency and Democrats capture the Senate. And the stakes, given the magnitude of the chasm that divides us, are indeed high.

The Democrats are out to remake America, and, 17 days from the election, a Democratic sweep remains a real possibility.

Early turnout is already at record numbers. According to most polls, Biden is ahead in almost all of the major battleground states — Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Arizona. To win, Trump must carry six or seven of those states.

In national polls, Trump is further behind, in some by double-digits, reflecting the mammoth Democratic majorities in populous and deep-blue California, New York and Illinois.

Still, this thing is not over.

For, at this stage of the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton was showing equally impressive poll numbers, and she would go on to lose all eight of those battleground states in the greatest upset since Harry Truman defeated Tom Dewey in 1948.

Can Trump repeat the miracle of 2016?

Perhaps. When it comes to energy, excitement, enthusiasm and a capacity to bring out crowds of loyalists, even in this the worst of pandemics, Trump is unrivaled.

When Trump calls, his followers come. Not in living memory has there been a president who could bring out such vast crowds with such consistency as Donald J. Trump.

By contrast, Biden’s meager gatherings seem to evoke as much excitement as a seniors bocce ball tournament.

His appearances, reading from teleprompters and spewing canned attacks written by others, produce polite applause. Rarely does a day goes by that Biden does not mumble and misremember something or lose his train of thought.

The essence of the Biden campaign is the avoidance of actual campaigning. And it has worked. On some days, the campaign “puts the lid on” — has no more news events today — by 9 a.m.

The question this has raised is no longer whether Joe has “lost a step” — few deny that — but whether he retains sufficient mental acuity to be a decisive leader of the free world for the next four years.

Two weeks out, however, voters seem not to care, or rather not to care enough to reject the Biden-Harris ticket.

The issue has been Trump. And the imperative for the president and his campaign remains to persuade the nation of several truths:

Biden is not physically or mentally up to the job. He will not be able to stand up to the radicals in his party who have extensive plan to enact in the next two years and a real possibility of doing so.

If Biden wins, they will insist that the Senate do what Barack Obama told them to do: Abolish the “Jim Crow relic” known as the filibuster, and use 50 Senate Democrats to enact an agenda more sweeping than FDR’s New Deal.

Of what does that agenda consist?

To shift the goal from equality of opportunity in race relations to equality of results — in income, wealth, power. Reparations for slavery. Pursue the Black Lives Matter demand to “reimagine policing” and to “defund the police.”

On immigration, open an immediate path to citizenship and the ballot box for DACA “Dreamers.” End deportations. Grant amnesty to all 11 million to 22 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. Abolish ICE. Open America’s borders to new and higher waves of immigration to make America the most racially, ethnically, socially and culturally diverse society in the history of man.

Pack the Senate by extending statehood to Puerto Rico and D.C., adding four new Democratic senators and making us a bilingual nation.

Pack the Supreme Court by adding two new justices. Raise taxes on payrolls, personal incomes, corporations, capital gains and estates.

Accelerate an end to carbon emissions by halting all offshore drilling and ending any reliance for energy, on coal, oil, gas or fracking.

Free education for all from prekindergarten through college.

On and on the agenda runs. But again, without the abolition of the filibuster, a GOP Senate minority could block this agenda that is designed to create a new American nation unlike the one we have known.

No, this is not the French Revolution.

But nor is it the country that evolved over two centuries out of the American Revolution. The antifa and BLM radicals remind us of this as they go about smashing icons and statues of the men who brought the Christian faith and Western civilization to these shores and founded the republic that may now be fading away.

Update On The Biden Story And Efforts To Stop It

by Mike Huckabee: "Joe Biden still has not been forced to explain why he fired Ukraine’s top prosecutor at precisely the moment his son was being paid to get him to fire Ukraine’s top prosecutor.”

That was Tucker Carlson on his Thursday show, which aired live before Biden’s televised town hall was over. Sure enough, that observation was still true afterward, because Biden wasn’t asked ONE QUESTION about this. And no wonder; anyone invested in a Biden win 2-1/2 weeks from now must know how damaging the story would be if it got the attention it deserves.

Biden also has never said whether or not he personally benefited from son Hunter’s foreign business dealings. He still insists he’s never talked with his son about them, not once. But according to one of the more telling emails on what is almost certainly Hunter’s discarded laptop, “Pop” benefited quite a lot. “I love you all,” it reads. “But I don’t receive any respect and thats fine I guess – works for you apparently. I Hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years. It’s really hard. But don’t worry unlike Pop I won’t make you give me half your salary.”

What? Joe Biden was pocketing half of what Hunter made?

No doubt Hunter wouldn’t have made the big bucks without his father’s last name, and he has acknowledged as much. So in a way, it might seem fitting that his father would take a generous cut. That is, if his father weren’t VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Rudy Giuliani describes this as “a racketeering case.”

Tucker went on to talk about Thursday's update in the NEW YORK POST (don’t look for it on Twitter, as they’ve deemed the whole story “unsafe”), which explores Hunter’s dealings in China. Here, we’re talking about tens of millions of dollars, even hundreds of millions and more. Another email on the laptop reads, “At the moment, there’s a provisional agreement the equity will be distributed as follows: Ten held by Hunter for the big guy...” The “big guy” surely was Joe Biden. So, can this money destined for him be traced back to the CCP?

According to Miranda Devine, a columnist for the NY POST, one deal with a Chinese energy company netted Hunter Biden $10 million a year for “introductions alone.”

He was also on a $1 million retainer from another company for “legal services.” Devine poses the question that, since the gravy train continued when Biden was no longer Vice President, what exactly were the Chinese paying for? I assume she’s wondering what we all are: were they anticipating the day when Biden would be running for President and likely becoming Commander-in-Chief in, say, January of 2021? They clearly want him to win.

This brings to mind the Clinton Global Foundation, whose billions in donations dried up soon after Hillary lost in 2016.

Ironically, by blocking a story that involves the the CCP, Twitter and Facebook are acting JUST LIKE the CCP. (Really, who needs Russia to “meddle” in our elections when we have Twitter and FB to do it?) And now Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) are using Big Tech’s rejection of the Biden story as evidence that it’s not true. They’re saying it’s “debunked” when it’s not at all.

As Tucker pointed out, Twitter and FB aren’t claiming it's a hoax but are simply cutting off communication about it. I hope it’s not getting tiresome for me to bring up George Orwell, but these people really are acting like the Ministry Of Truth. They want censorship if it works in their favor. And they don’t mean just to shut down some obscure blog, though that would be wrong as well, but even to censor major publications to silence a story they don't want. Likewise, they’ll pass along an easily-debunked lie if the lie is what they DO want. They’ve crossed a big red line.

This should scare the pants off you.

According to Ms. Devine, the Biden campaign is backing off its original response, which was that his official calendar had no record of his meeting with the Burisma official who’d emailed Hunter a thank-you for their meeting. Now they’re saying they “would not rule out the possibility” of a meeting, but it would’ve just been “informal” and “cursory.” Okay, but the official had referred to “spending some time” with the Vice President. How much time?

She concluded by saying, “Maybe he will answer it tonight when he does a town hall. I doubt whether he’ll be asked any really tough questions, though.” (Wow, she must be psychic!)

Fortunately, outside the mainstream, there’s still some real journalism going on, such as this update from THE EPOCH TIMES.

Yesterday, I expressed curiosity about the “backstory” of the abandoned MacBook Pro, notably how it came to be subpoenaed by the FBI –- where it seems to have been deep-sixed around the time of the Trump impeachment (hmm). Seems I was not alone.

Giuliani says he received a copy of the hard drive three weeks ago from his attorney, Robert Costello, who got it from John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware. (Isaac had had the laptop for 90 days and was unable to contact the owner.) Steve Bannon negotiated a deal and passed it to the NY POST, which also did its own authentication. This deal allowed Giuliani to later disclose the material to other media as he is now doing. (This begs the question: Can Twitter shut them ALL down?)

What I’m most curious about is the FBI subpoena --- what was that about? Mac Isaac gave Costello a copy of what he said was the subpoena, dated Dec. 9, 2019, used to seize the laptop. (Fortunately, he copied the hard drive before he turned it over.) Sen. Ron Johnson said Thursday that he wants the FBI to "come clean." What were they doing with this? Why did they sit on it?

The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware declined to confirm the authenticity of the subpoena. As in the old song, “They didn’t say yes, they didn’t say no.”

There are some inconsistencies with Mac Isaacs as a witness; the EPOCH TIMES piece mentions these. Still, they have little to do with whether or not this laptop is the real deal or a hoax. These emails are either real or they’re not, regardless of Mac Isaac’s motivations or the fact that Giuliani is Trump’s attorney. It’s understandable that Giuliani and other Trump advocates are working overtime to get the truth out, because “journalists” have utterly failed to do their job and don’t even care if Biden and his family are corrupt.

Heritage Foundation President Calls on Twitter, Facebook to ‘Step Up’ After Censorship of Hunter Biden Article

by Rachel del Guidice: The president of The Heritage Foundation is calling on the CEOs of Facebook and Twitter to be forthright on their platforms and is condemning the social media giants’ suppression of news stories on Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

“I write to you to join tens of millions of Americans in expressing our outrage concerning your handling of the New York Post’s recent reporting on [former] Vice President Biden and his son, Hunter,” Kay C. James, president of The Heritage Foundation, said in letters Thursday to Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s CEO, and Mark Zuckerberg, his counterpart at Facebook.

The New York Post published an article Wednesday on the business dealings of Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, alleging that the younger Biden used his connection to his father to get a Ukrainian prosecutor looking into the business dealings of Burisma Holdings fired. Hunter Biden served on the board of the Ukraine-based natural gas company.

“To put it bluntly, you have squandered the public trust and are now inflicting great harm on the nation and its institutions by inappropriately influencing our electoral politics. Regardless of anyone’s political views, your platform’s suppression of a major news story from a reputable news outlet is highly problematic,” James wrote in the letters to Dorsey and Zuckerberg.

The New York Post’s article reportedly received more than 300,000 shares on Facebook, and posts having a link to the story have received 1.5 million interactions, Business Insider reported.

Facebook and Twitter tried to limit the reach of the New York Post article, with Facebook limiting access to the story and Twitter marking the story “potentially unsafe” and then blocking it, The Washington Post reported.

“The Heritage Foundation understands Twitter has rules and that these rules are intended to protect users, to prevent the spread of false information and foreign propaganda, and to otherwise provide a safe user experience,” James wrote in the letter to Dorsey, adding:But we also believe that you have politicized these rules and that you have failed to apply them in a fair and equitable manner, which has collapsed public trust in your platform and is now impacting the American electoral process. In the letter, James highlighted a survey, pointing out that “more than 40% of Americans believe technology companies support liberals over conservatives, and 72% think it is likely that ‘social media platforms actively censor political views that those companies find objectionable.’”

James wrote to Zuckerberg that The Heritage Foundation recognizes the “community standards” of the social media platform, but that the company hasn’t been fair in its implementation of the policy. She criticized politicization of the standards and the “fact-checking” process, saying that, as with Twitter, Facebook has sacrificed the public’s trust in the platform and is improperly influencing the country’s electoral process.

“You and your company play a central role in American life and, specifically, in this nation’s political dialogue,” James said, adding:Yet your continued failure to fairly follow your own self-imposed standards erodes any credible defense of your actions. It is now time for you to step up to meet the responsibilities you have worked so hard to secure.------------------------------

The Chillin & The Grillin, The Media's Double Standard, A Vaccine Is Coming

Gary Bauer
by Gary Bauer: The Chillin' & The Grillin'
That's a good way to describe last night's two town hall events with former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump. Every question Savannah Guthrie posed to Trump was an attack, while virtually every question George Stephanopoulos posed to Biden was a softball (not one question about Hunter Biden), and he still struggled to keep up.

Incredibly, Joe Biden needed a note card to remember the details of his own tax plan. Think about that. Biden had notes, quite a contrast to Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who had no notes during her confirmation hearings!

Biden said again that police should be trained to shoot criminals in the leg when they are running at them. Well, if the person doesn't have a weapon, the police won't shoot them. So obviously Biden's referring to someone with a weapon.

But telling cops to shoot an armed attacker in the leg is just a bunch of malarkey, as Joe Biden would say. For one thing, legs are smaller targets to hit and they're also moving as they are running. This ridiculous idea will only lead to more dead cops.

Biden also suggested that the police should take social workers and psychologists when responding to a crime. How's that going to work?

One questioner at his town hall event wanted to know Biden's position on transgender rights. Biden declared that eight-year-olds should be allowed to decide for themselves which gender they want to be.

It's bad enough that the left has been telling parents for years that they have no right to know if their teenage daughter has an abortion. Now the left is telling parents that they have virtually no rights at all when it comes to raising their children.

The Joe Biden of most of his career would not be saying nonsense like this. It just shows how extreme his party has become and how much the left will control him.

Meanwhile, Guthrie conducted a 25-minute one-on-one debate with Donald Trump before she called on any voters at the president's town hall.

Watching these two events shows how utterly idiotic it was for the debate commission to cancel the second presidential debate. Both audiences were socially distanced with masks. All they needed was one more chair at either event and we could have had a real debate.

Biden Will Pack The Court
Joe Biden said last night that he is "open" to packing the Supreme Court if Republicans confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett. So even though just 31% of voters oppose her confirmation, Biden's ready to blow up the Supreme Court. That's all you need to know, my friends.

Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer have been clear about their desire to pack the Supreme Court with left-wing activists. Joe Biden won't stand in their way if Democrats have power next year.

The Media's Double Standard
NBC's Savannah Guthrie made her bias clear when she demanded that the president condemn white supremacy. He has. Repeatedly. And he did so again last night. Trump, however, demanded to know why Guthrie and others in the media never call on Joe Biden to condemn Antifa and other radical left-wing groups.

My friends, here's what you must remember: One of the most dramatic moments when Trump condemned white supremacy was after the 2017 Charlottesville riot.

During his press conference after that horrible event, the president said: "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally."

Yet that is what Biden, Harris and the Democrat Party have been lying about for three years.

Consider this: There have been lots of protests and riots across the country in recent months. Far too many times, the media, Biden, Pelosi, etc., have absurdly downplayed the seriousness of the riots while saying that most demonstrators were good people demonstrating for social justice.

No one condemns the media for calling rioters and looters "good people." That's because there is a difference between legitimate protests and violent riots.

The same thing happened in Charlottesville. There was a peaceful protest the day before over a historic monument that some people wanted to remove. What happened later was a riot that involved neo-Nazis. And Donald Trump explicitly condemned the neo-Nazis and white nationalists.

Yet for the past four years, the left has continued to smear the president and lie about what he said.

The Radical Left
We know from some research that some unknown percentage of people intend to vote for Joe Biden because they think he can bring the country together and that Donald Trump is incapable of doing so. Sadly, they are so wrong.

The left's extreme and unpopular agenda is precisely what is tearing the country apart, and it will be on steroids under "President Kamala Harris."

You don't have to take my word for it. Keith Olbermann, who made millions as a pundit for ESPN and MSNBC, wants to see President Trump, Vice President Pence, Judge Amy Coney Barrett and us, pro-Trump, pro-life, pro-family conservatives, "prosecuted and convicted and removed from our society."

It would be a mistake to dismiss Olbermann's views as "fringe." This is, after all, why Antifa exists. And many progressives have no interest in bringing the country together.

There was a revealing moment yesterday about just how vicious the left has become. At the conclusion of the Barrett hearings, Chairman Lindsey Graham walked over to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, and she hugged him. The left erupted in rage, demanding Feinstein be replaced

A simple display of humanity between a Democrat and a Republican is too much for the left. Yet somehow Joe Biden is supposed to bring the country together.

A Vaccine Is Coming
The CEO of Pfizer announced this morning that Pfizer's vaccine trial is going extremely well. He stated that they would know by the end of October if the vaccine is effective and could apply for FDA approval by mid-November. It will be in limited supply initially, so first responders, the elderly and others at high-risk will be first in line to receive the vaccine.

Once again, it looks like President Trump was right when he said we would have a vaccine soon, and that Dr. Fauci was wrong when he said we wouldn't have a vaccine until April.

Meanwhile, the chief economist of the World Bank warned yesterday that the pandemic "is morphing into a major economic crisis, with very serious financial consequences."

Of course, most Americans understand that, which is why they don't want the lockdowns Joe Biden is promising.

President Trump is urging Congress to pass additional stimulus measures to help struggling families and small businesses. But Nancy Pelosi would rather prolong the suffering than risk helping the economy.

American Jewry’s Fateful Hour

by Caroline Glick: Almost all the polls say that President Donald Trump is heading towards defeat at the hands of his Democrat challenger, former vice president Joe Biden next month. But Robert Cahaly who heads the Trafalgar Group polling firm disagrees.

Cahaly was the only major pollster that accurately called the 2016 presidential race. In an interview with “The Political Trade” podcast last week, Cahaly said his data show Trump headed for another upset victory November 3.

Cahaly said that today, as in 2016, the disparity between his numbers and the marquis polling firms’ numbers owes to the latter’s systematic neglect of what he calls the “Shy Trump Voter Effect.”

From the time Hillary Clinton referred to Trump’s supporters as “deplorables,” through today as Democrats demonize them as racists and fascists, Cahaly explains that a significant and growing segment of Trump voters will not admit their support for him. Fearing social and professional repercussions, the Shy Trump Voter lies to pollsters and anyone else who asks him what he thinks of Trump.

Cahaly said that he goes to great lengths to correct for the Shy Trump Voter Effect in his polls and the other polling firms ignore the phenomenon.

The Shy Trump Voter Effect makes intuitive sense for anyone watching the cancel culture in America grow more menacing by the day. One of the communities where it likely plays a role is the American Jewish community.

The Jewish community has been one of the most intolerant communities towards Trump supporters. After the Tree of Life massacre two years ago, leading Jewish intellectuals called for synagogues to ban Trump voters from entering their prayer halls. The day that the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed peace agreements with Israel at the White House, the Jewish Democratic Council of America ran an ad comparing Trump to Hitler. For the past year, the goal of the Jewish arm of the Democrat Party has been to portray Trump as the gravest threat to the American Jewish community.

And it isn’t just Jewish notables propagating hatred and fear of Trump and his supporters. The old quip that Reform Judaism is simply the Democratic Party with Jewish holidays, rings truer today than ever. In many Reform and Conservative synagogues, Judaism is portrayed as a synonym for progressive politics. Jewish Trump supporters who belong to these congregations are unlikely to share their views with their fellow congregants.

So it’s safe to assume that the Shy Trump Voter Effect is alive and kicking in the American Jewish community today.

And this brings us to Florida.

According the Real Clear Politics average of polls, Biden is leading Trump in the critical swing state by 2.7 percent. Cahaly’s polls place Trump at a 2-point advantage. In 2016, Trump won Florida by a 1.5 percent margin over Clinton.

Jews make up around 3.5 percent of Florida’s population, and an even larger percentage of Florida voters. Consequently, the Jewish vote is critical for winning the state. Cahalay said his polls show “support for Trump in the Jewish community is skyrocketing.”

If Trump wins an historic level of support among American Jews, it will be a testament to the wisdom of an unprecedented percentage of American Jews. For American Jewry this year’s presidential election is without question the most critical one ever.

Over the past four years, anti-Semitism has become an undeniable, and central characteristic of the Democrat Party to which the vast majority of American Jews have pledged their loyalty for the better part of the past hundred years while anti-Semitism in the Republican Party has dropped to historic lows.

Democrat anti-Semitism has seemingly appeared out of the blue but in truth, the party has been on a largely one-lane road to radicalization for the past fifty years. It’s just that the path turned into a highway over the past four years with the rise of open anti-Semites like Rashida Tlaib, Linda Sarsour, Andre Carson, Keith Ellison and Ilhan Omert to commanding positions in the party.

Anti-Semitism runs through Democrat politics, policies and behavior across a spectrum of issues. In foreign policy, hating Israel has become the most passionate position of the progressive grassroots.

Biden announced early on that if elected, he will restore the U.S.’s commitment to the Iran nuclear deal he forged with Barack Obama. That means that a Biden administration will cancel the economic sanctions on Iran, ensuring the survival of the regime. It means a Biden administration will enable the cessation of the UN arms embargo enabling Iran to purchase whatever advanced weapons systems it wants. It also means a regime pledged to annihilate the largest Jewish community in the world – Israel – will have an open path to a nuclear arsenal.

Biden has agreed to restore the Palestinians to center stage. This isn’t a pro-peace position. After all, the Abraham accords are the result of Trump marginalizing the Palestinians. The purpose of a Palestinian-centric policy is it is to delegitimize Israel, justify a U.S. foreign policy that is hostile to Israel and domestic policy that is hostile to Israel’s supporters in America.

Then there is anti-Semitism itself. The good news is that like Trump, Biden can be expected to take on white supremacists. The bad news is that in stark contrast to Trump, Biden can be expected to turn a blind eye to the growing anti-Semitism in his own political camp.

The JDCA announced its campaign demonizing Trump as the gravest threat to the American Jewish community the day Trump signed an executive order extending Title IX protection under the U.S. Civil Rights Act to Jews on campuses. The executive order specified that when considering anti-Semitic discrimination, the definition of anti-Semitism reached by the International Holocaust Remembrance Association (IHRA) should be used as a guidepost. The IHRA definition stipulates that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism and that rejecting Israel’s right to exist, comparing it to Nazi Germany or apartheid South Africa are forms of anti-Semitic actions.

On October 1, New York University reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Education’s Civil Rights Division over a complaint filed by a former student alleging anti-Semitic discrimination by university authorities. The complaint was filed following Trump’s executive order. In the settlement, NYU agreed to apply the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism to its actions to protect Jewish students from discrimination.

The NYU case shows how critical Trump’s executive order is to the protection of the civil rights of American Jews. On campuses the most common form of anti-Semitic harassment flows from anti-Zionism. Hostility to Jewish students and faculty has grown as campus authorities have refused to acknowledge that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. NYU’s leadership allowed their campus to become a hostile environment for Jews where the slightest expression of support for Israel found Jewish students attacked and ostracized. So long as Trump’s executive order remains in effect and enforced, Jews can turn to the Department of Education for protection.

The future of the executive order, not to mention its enforcement will be very much in doubt in a Biden administration. For eight years, the Obama-Biden administration abjectly refused to protect Jewish students from discrimination rooted in anti-Zionism. And as a result, the discrimination increased steeply from semester to semester.

Anti-Semitism of course isn’t limited to anti-Zionism. There is also traditional anti-Semitism that involves scapegoating and assaulting Jews simply for being Jews. There’s a lot of that going on in Democrat circles these days.

On October 5, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo held a press conference where he directly threatened the state’s Orthodox Jewish community. In the middle of the Succot festival, Cuomo said, “I have to say to the Orthodox community…’If you’re not willing to live with these rules [of limiting participation in prayers due to the pandemic], then I’m going to close the synagogues.”

It would be one thing to single out Orthodox Jews if they were the only ones rejecting the limitations on religious gatherings. But they aren’t. Not even close.

As Daniel Greenfield reported at Frontpage online magazine, the day before Cuomo threatened the Orthodox community, thousands of Shiite Muslim men gathered without masks and with no social distancing in Queens to mark the Ashoura festival. Cuomo didn’t mention them. He also didn’t mention them in August when they had another Ashoura festival with no masks and no social distancing in Manhattan even though the next day, Cuomo threatened to ban Jewish weddings.

To justify his singling out of Orthodox Jews, Cuomo held up a photograph of a massive Hassidic funeral. Cuomo failed to note the photo was of a funeral that took place in 2006.

Early this week, Cuomo sent state workers to weld shut the entrance to a Jewish cemetery in Rockland County ahead of the memorial of a Hassidic leader that thousands of followers regularly attend. Across the street from the Jewish cemetery is a non-Jewish cemetery and as the Jews were barred from entering their grounds, hundreds of non-Jews gathered at their cemetery without social distancing and in at least some cases, without masks, and with no law enforcement officers around to disperse them.

According to media reports, Cuomo is the frontrunner to serve as Attorney General in a Biden administration.

The outpouring of wrath against Orthodox Jews by the likes of Cuomo and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio since the outset of the coronavirus pandemic follows in the wake of a year and a half of ever escalating assaults against Orthodox Jews in the New York metropolitan area. Those attacks culminated with the massacre of Jews in Jersey City, New Jersey and the attempted massacre of Jews in Monsey, New York last November and December.

Rather than take aggressive steps to protect the Jewish communities in neighborhoods like Crown Heights and Williamsburg from the perpetrators who overwhelmingly hail from the African American and Muslim communities, Cuomo and De Blasio ignored them. Infamously, while making light of the assaults and harassment, De Blasio blamed the attacks on white nationalists.

With a record like the one Cuomo has racked up in New York, and with the Democrat House majority incapable of condemning anti-Semitism when it emanates from its own members, it strains credulity to believe a Biden administration will protect the civil rights of Jews. This is especially true in the growing number of cases where the anti-Semites are either progressives or members of privileged communities within the progressive camp, and the victims are either Zionist Jews or Orthodox Jews.

A Jerusalem Post poll this week claimed that 70 percent of American Jews intend to vote for Biden. 25 percent intend to vote for Trump. If the numbers are true, Trump is already enjoying a larger percentage of the Jewish vote than any Republican candidate since Ronald Reagan. If Cahaly’s models are as accurate in 2020 as they were in 2016, it is likely that Shy Trump Voters in the Jewish community will give Trump more Jewish votes than any Republican has received in history.

Twitter’s Election Interference

by Paul Jacob, Contributing Author: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube . . . they sucked us in by pretending to be non-biased platforms for everybody, yet now suppress content that chiefly rubs against one set of clients, supporters of the Democratic Party.

The current case regards the water-damaged computer of (reportedly) Hunter Biden, the content of which reached the New York Post by way of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani. But the bigger story is that Twitter won’t allow links to the Post’s reporting, going so far as to lock the Post’s primary account; Facebook has also tried to suppress the story.

Now it’s blowing up everywhere.

It’s bad for the Bidens: emails suggest the former Vice-President played more of a role than previously claimed in what has always looked improper — no, corrupt — except to most mainstream media.*

No wonder, then, that we hear calls for government regulation of social media.

Shivers down my spine.

But what I have not heard? Giving Democrats a dish of what they love: federal campaign finance law.

Does not social media’s clearly uneven content suppression amount to material support for one set of political candidates over others? Why not stick Democrats with their own beloved regime?

But great minds think alike: while proofreading the above, I found a tweet by Lee Spieckerman, a Texas media specialist: “The @TheJusticeDept should immediately begin investigating @jack [Twitter’s CEO] for illegal in-kind campaign contribution to @JoeBiden.”

While I oppose campaign finance regulation, we must not** let such regulations only be used by one side against the other.

Yet maybe if we make the threat, social media will come to its senses, and Democrats will see the error of McCain-Feingold.

Too crazy? Or the right amount of 2020 crazy?

This is Common Sense. I’m Paul Jacob.

* A state-connected Chinese bank and a well-connected Russian woman lathered Hunter up with millions and billions of dollars for only one plausible reason: his father’s position in our government. Hunter Biden joined that Ukrainian oil company board after Joe Biden became point-man for our country’s Ukrainian policy.

** In the past, I have addressed this notion of applying bad regulations equally, including campaign finance laws specifically.

How Trump can Outwit the Deep State and Remain in Power

Cliff Kincaid
by Cliff Kincaid: If President Trump wins the November election, it will be a miracle. But miracles happen. Former Trump Campaign Deputy Chairman Rick Gates says the “Trump Factor” could be even bigger this year and the projected “Blue Wave” could end up in ruins.

If not—as the results come in, Trump will have to make the case in a national television address that the intelligence agencies have been misusing federal resources and government power for political purposes. He will have to argue that the election process has been subverted by the use of taxpayer funds and government means to keep the Deep State in power. He will have to say that Big Tech companies, under the control of left-wing activists, abused their monopoly power under federal law to destroy the ability of his campaign to participate in a free and fair election.

With Trump, our last freely elected president in power, he will have no choice but to remain in the White House until the gross attacks on our democratic republic and on our rights as free Americans come to an end.

These steps are necessary because, in my more than 40 years in Washington, D.C., I have never seen an alignment of forces like this mobilized against a freely elected president. This goes far beyond partisanship, to include subversion and treason.

The forces and personalities arrayed against Trump include China, Russia, the Vatican, the United Nations, the CIA, the FBI, Wall Street, billionaires such as George Soros and Mike Bloomberg, organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Democratic Party, and some in the Republican Party and the “conservative movement.”

As for the media, even Drudge and most of Fox News have turned against him.

Big Tech has always been an enemy of the president, but the suppression by Facebook and Twitter of New York Post revelations about Hunter Biden using his father to make business deals in China and Ukraine is unprecedented.

Personally, after he participated in one presidential debate where various unidentified people were identified as disease-carriers, Trump has now survived the China virus. Previously, a would-be assassin—who was arrested with a loaded gun and a knife—mailed a letter with Ricin to the president. Pascale Ferrier was arrested with 234 rounds of ammunition at the “Peace Bridge” connecting the U.S. and Canada.

Ricin is a known KGB poison-weapon used to kill dissidents in a communist system of government.

Trump is truly a dissident to the corrupt forces—known as the Deep State or the Swamp—dominating Washington, D.C. As to how this has happened, I have come to accept the view of the CIA’s legendary anti-communist mole-hunter James Jesus Angleton. He documented how intelligence officials are lost in a “wilderness of mirrors,” to use intelligence jargon, and are outsmarted or even recruited by America’s enemies.

As a result, I concluded that the Deep State is dominated by the remnants of the old Soviet KGB and that headquarters is in Moscow, from which the Russian Revolution continues to spread its “errors” (as described in the Fatima revelations).

Dr. Paul Kengor’s book A Pope and a President: John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, and the Extraordinary Untold Story of the 20th Century documents how, on the anniversary of Fatima, the Soviets carried out the May 13, 1981, attempted assassination of anti-communist Pope John Paul II. Reagan’s CIA director Bill Casey confirmed the Soviet role, in the face of official CIA resistance to the finding.

A fan of Trump, the late Russian dissident Vladimir Bukovsky understood that Trump had nothing to do with the Russians. His book, Judgment in Moscow, describes how the Soviets/Russians have manipulated the left for decades. Suddenly, however, the left “discovered” how Trump was supposed to be a Russian agent.

Bukovsky told me in an interview shortly before his unexpected death, “For the first time, the left-wing establishment discovered the Russian threat. Previously, they didn’t see any threat. When it was real and we tried to attract the attention of the world to the Russian threat, we were accused of being paranoid and unrealistic and things like that. Now we have proven we were not paranoid. It did exist. Suddenly, the world discovers the Russian threat. That, of course, is a political game.”

In other words, the charges against Trump were the result of disinformation, staged for partisan political purposes. As we know, one of their most successful disinformation themes was the phony Russia-gate dossier, paid for by Hillary Clinton and based on Russian sources.

Clearly, the Trump presidency has threatened powerful interests in government, corporations, and the media which are committed to the “convergence” of capitalism and communism through such mechanisms as “free trade” and involvement in global institutions.

Before the dossier disinformation, as I documented in The Sword of Revolution and the Communist Apocalypse, was the so-called “Sino-Soviet split,” accepted by Henry Kissinger and the CIA to justify accommodation with the Red Chinese communists. Here, too, the evidence indicates the CIA has been completely infiltrated. Just consider a May 20, 2017, New York Times article about how the Chinese regime “systematically dismantled” CIA spying operations in the country starting in 2010, two years after Obama took power, “killing or imprisoning more than a dozen sources over two years and crippling intelligence gathering there for years afterward.” Another fruitless mole hunt took place.

With this background, the idea that former Trump National Security Advisor Michael T. Flynn was in any sense a Russian agent was undermined by the contents of his own book, The Field of Fight, arguing that Russia and China are behind an “enemy alliance” of countries and movements trying to destroy the U.S. That’s one of the reasons why he was targeted. He threatened to expose the Deep State’s faulty intelligence on geopolitics.

The search initially launched by Angleton led to such notorious characters as FBI counterintelligence special agent Robert P. Hanssen, a Soviet/Russian mole inside the bureau. Hanssen's record of treason spanned 22 years, from 1979 to 2001. Robert S. Mueller, the Russia-gate special counsel, became FBI director after Hannsen was caught. Mueller then failed to reform the bureau to catch future spies.

Rep. Devin Nunes, the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, was most recently upset with revelations that CIA Director Gina Haspel is stonewalling the release of Obamagate documents. Obamagate is the scandal that involved the previous administration deciding to use the intelligence agencies to undermine the peaceful transfer of power to the Trump Administration. They produced the fake Russian dossier to do that.

Nunes, who wrote the conventional conservative book Restoring the Republic in 2010, now seems to understand that restoration is not possible without dismantling the structures and institutions captured by socialist and communist operatives.

These operatives, through favors or blackmail, pull the strings of the major media, in an ongoing intelligence operation that considers many journalists to be “Presstitutes,” or hired hands.

There was in fact a book by that name written by German journalist Udo Ulfkotte, who died under mysterious circumstances. He documents how journalists around the world echo the views of government and corporate officials belonging to such groups as the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the Trilateral Commission.

It’s significant that pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, apparently armed with blackmail material in the form of videos of powerful people, was a member of both groups. He, too, died under mysterious circumstances. Epstein was found guilty of sex crimes in 2008 but remained a member of the CFR from 1995 through 2009. He was dropped from the rolls for nonpayment of dues and not because of sex crimes.

Cindy McCain, who says “We all knew what he [Epstein] was doing,” has endorsed Joe Biden for president. Her husband, the late Senator John McCain, who lost a winnable election against Obama in 2008, peddled the phony Hillary-financed Russian dossier to the FBI.

In the Flynn case, as you may recall, wiretapped conversations were illegally leaked to CIA mouthpiece and CFR member David Ignatius of the Washington Post.

The Deep State is an entity which overlaps with the military industrial complex that was first identified publicly by another Republican president, Dwight Eisenhower.

Demonstrating the dangers of this cabal, the famous 1964 film "Seven Days in May" included a scenario where the top military brass revolt against their Commander-in-Chief. In the movie, the president wins. In real life, in 2020, we may soon find out.

In contrast to the movie version, the top military brass today are globalists, not nationalists. Many leave military service to serve on the boards of defense contractors. The Project On Government Oversight released a report finding that “from 2008 to the present over 380 high-ranking Department of Defense officials and military officers became lobbyists, board members, executives, or consultants for defense contractors within two years of leaving the Department.”

Hence, they oppose Trump’s decision to end foreign wars and pressure “allies” to spend more of their own money on their defense.

At this late date, intelligence agencies are stonewalling in response to his directive to release all classified documents on Obamagate. As if we needed more proof, it is apparent they don’t answer to Trump.

The opposition to Trump is already talking about his victory on election night being a “Red Mirage” that will dissipate with manufactured and fraudulent mail-in ballots.

In response, Trump will have to declare victory based on legitimate ballots and remain in power. The Supreme Court may be called upon to validate that victory by rejecting the stolen and manufactured votes. His opponents will call for a military coup to overthrow him.

All that Trump will have left is the people.

Is Twitter, Facebook Censorship of New York Post Biden-Ukraine Story the Beginning of Social Tyranny?

by Robert Romano: Twitter and Facebook have both limited distribution of an Oct. 14 report from the New York Post’s Emma-Jo Morris and Gabrielle Fonrouge entitled, “Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad” detailing an alleged meeting between former Vice President Joe Biden and Burisma executive Vadym who Biden’s son, Hunter, used to work for, in April 2015.

The Wall Street Journal’s Robert McMillan and Jeff Horwitz reported on Oct. 15, “Twitter on Wednesday blocked users from posting links to the articles, initially citing a potential violation of its rules regarding hacked materials. The company later said the articles also violated its policies on displaying private information like email addresses and phone numbers without a person’s permission… Twitter’s move came after Facebook also limited the distribution of the articles on its platform, saying it was awaiting guidance from its third-party fact-checking partners—independent organizations that routinely review the accuracy of viral content. Facebook has slowed the spread of the Post articles pending a decision by those partners, company spokesman Andy Stone said in a Twitter message on Wednesday morning.”

According to the email obtained by the New York Post, allegedly from Pozharskyi to Hunter Biden, “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.”

Twitter and Facebook have claimed the news report somehow violated their terms of service in republishing illegally obtained materials.

The outrage for Twitter and Facebook is that regardless of where the computer containing the emails came from, the New York Post has a First Amendment right to publish them. It’s freedom of the press, something social media companies have in the past defended.

For example, Twitter has never banned or throttled the Twitter account for Wikileaks, which routinely publishes classified information or other news outlets that have similar national security sources and classified materials included that by definition are illegally obtained.

The Biden campaign has denied any such meeting took place, saying it was not in the former Vice President’s “official schedule”, calling the disclosure, without evidence, supposed Russian disinformation.

Later, the Biden campaign admitted it was possible Biden met with Pozharskyi, according to Politico’s Kyle Cheney and Natasha Bertrand reporting on Oct. 14: “Biden’s campaign would not rule out the possibility that the former VP had some kind of informal interaction with Pozharskyi, which wouldn’t appear on Biden’s official schedule. But they said any encounter would have been cursory.”

The trouble for Biden, of course, was that Burisma was the natural gas firm being investigated in Ukraine, that his son worked for, and who Biden bragged he got the prosecutor looking into the company fired by threatening an International Monetary Fund loan.

Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations at the Jan. 2018 event he threatened $1.2 billion of loan guarantees in 2016 to get Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin fired: “I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ …Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

Shokin in April 2019 told journalist John Solomon that prior to the election of the new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he was removed in 2016 because of his investigation of Burisma, on which Biden’s son, Hunter, served on the Board of Directors.

In an affidavit in a European court in 2019, Shokin testified, “The truth is that I was forced out because I was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into Burisma Holdings, a natural gas firm active in Ukraine and Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was a member of the Board of Directors… On several occasions President Poroshenko asked me to have a look at the case against Burisma and consider the possibility of winding down the investigative actions in respect of this company but I refused to close this investigation.”

A call from May 2016, leaked in May 2020, between former Vice President Joe Biden and then-Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko confirmed the quid pro quo in Ukraine, that is, the $1.2 billion loan guarantee from the IMF approved by the Obama administration and the firing and replacement of Shokin.

In the May 2016 phone call, Biden clearly says, “[C]ongratulations on installing the new prosecutor general, it’s going to be critical for him to work quickly to repair the damage Shokin did. And I’m a man of my word. And now that the new prosecutor general is in place, we’re ready to move forward in signing that one-billion-dollar loan guarantee.” The phone call was said to have been recorded by Poroshenko himself.

This was the matter President Donald Trump sought to have Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “look into” on the July 25, 2019 phone call with current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the phone call with Zelensky, Trump said, “It sounds horrible to me.”

And now, it looks like Biden may have even met with Burisma executives, putting the lie to Biden’s claim that “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings”.

In the meantime, Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) has told Fox News that his committee is in touch with the individual who provided the emails and is in the process of authenticating them.

“We regularly speak with individuals who email the committee’s whistleblower account to determine whether we can validate their claims,” said Johnson, adding, “Although we consider those communications to be confidential, because the individual in this instance spoke with the media about his contact with the committee, we can confirm receipt of his email complaint, have been in contact with the whistleblower, and are in the process of validating the information he provided.”

And Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai is promising to put forward a regulation clarifying Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act that is used by social media companies as a shield from liability, stating, “Members of all three branches of the federal government have expressed serious concerns about the prevailing interpretation of the immunity set forth in Section 230 of the Communications Act. There is bipartisan support in Congress to reform the law. The U.S. Department of Commerce has petitioned the Commission to ‘clarify ambiguities in section 230.’… Many advance an overly broad interpretation that in some cases shields social media companies from consumer protection laws in a way that has no basis in the text of Section 230. The Commission’s General Counsel has informed me that the FCC has the legal authority to interpret Section 230. Consistent with this advice, I intend to move forward with a rulemaking to clarify its meaning.”

Pai added, “Social media companies have a First Amendment right to free speech. But they do not have a First Amendment right to a special immunity denied to other media outlets, such as newspapers and broadcasters.”

Adding to the furor at Twitter, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was locked out of her Twitter account for sharing the New York Post story. “It’s not a temporary blockage. When I log onto my Twitter account it says I’m permanently banned. They essentially had me at gunpoint and said unless you delete a news story reported by the New York Post I cannot regain access to my account,” McEnany told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Oct. 14.

McEnany has since had her account restored, but the threat to press freedom posed by these big tech firms is quite clear who have anointed themselves the arbiters of truth. But while Twitter, Facebook and other firms are certainly a part of the marketplace of ideas, they by no means have a monopoly on that market — yet.

In April 2018, Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey retweeted an article by Peter Leyden and Ruy Teixeira that called our political discourse a “new civil war,” with Leyden and Teixeira writing, “America can’t afford more political paralysis. One side or the other must win. This is a civil war that can be won without firing a shot. But it is a fundamental conflict between two worldviews that must be resolved in short order.”

It called for “Democratic One-Party Rule” in the U.S. as a means of reconciling issues facing the country and ultimately implementing the progressive agenda. Dorsey called it a “great read.”

Are we beginning to see what one party rule will look like in the U.S. — with Twitter and Facebook acting as party spokespersons and ministries of propaganda for the Democratic Party? It sure looks that way. This is a mortal danger to freedom of the press and of speech.

In John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty, the philosopher warned how a “social tyranny” of the majority could impose censorship that would be “more formidable” than even government censorship and that it could “enslav[e] the soul” with little room for escape.

Mill wrote, “[W]hen society is itself the tyrant — society collectively over the separate individuals who compose it — its means of tyrannising are not restricted to the acts which it may do by the hands of its political functionaries. Society can and does execute its own mandates; and if it issues wrong mandates instead of right, or any mandates at all in things with which it ought not to meddle, it practices a social tyranny more formidable than many kinds of political oppression, since, though not usually upheld by such extreme penalties, it leaves fewer means of escape, penetrating much more deeply into the details of life, and enslaving the soul itself.”

Now that “social tyranny” appears to be taking root in America, arbitrating what can and cannot be shared — unless we stop it now.

It is irrelevant how the New York Post, or any other news organization obtains its information, classified or otherwise. The question is whether the freedom of the press will be protected or not. We do not support corporate censorship and social censorship anymore than we support government censorphip. As Mill wrote, “If all mankind minus one were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”
