Obama's Terror Failures, Hard Decisions, The Clinton News Network, The Pro-Life Candidate

by Gary Bauer, Contributing Author:  Obama's Terror Failures - In the past 24 hours, we have learned a lot more about New York City bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami.

• His ex-wife says he hates America, the military and homosexuals.
• He has a criminal record, including a domestic dispute.
• His father says he called the FBI to warn his son was radicalized.
• He made multiple trips to Afghanistan and Pakistan. On one trip, he married a new wife. She left the United States days ago and is currently being held in the United Arab Emirates. Remember the wife of the Orlando shooter? She disappeared too.
• One of his brothers posted this on Facebook: "I bring the men who desire death as ardently as you desire life." That's a quote from Khalid al-Walid, one of Muhammad's generals.

Yet with all these markers the FBI did not have Ahmad Khan Rahami on a watch list.

The first temptation is to excoriate the FBI because this is not the agency's first failure. There were warnings about the Tsarnaev brothers. They were interviewed.

There were warnings about the Orlando shooter, Omar Mateen. The FBI interviewed him too.

But it's not the FBI's fault. They have an almost impossible job. We've been told there are ISIS investigations going on in every state.

Yet the Obama/Biden/Kerry/Clinton Administration, their left-wing media allies, and sadly even some elements of the Republican Party, have continued to bring in hundreds of thousands of people who may be fertile recruiting ground for Islamic supremacists. While we may catch some, we are not going to be able to catch every Islamic supremacist.

So what do we do? Continue bringing in more potential jihadists? Not unless we want to end up like France, which has 15,000 jihadis roaming the country.

Donald Trump is right. Immigration security is national security. We have got to call a time out until we can figure out how to identify the potential murderers.

If we don't, we are all going to end up living in a police state. There will be more demands for more law enforcement if these attacks continue. I urge our libertarian friends to join us, and jettison the idiotic idea that people should be able to freely cross borders in an age of Islamic supremacist terror.

Hard Decisions? Hillary Clinton told reporters yesterday, "I'm the only candidate in this race who's been part of the hard decisions to take terrorists off the battlefield." In other words, Hillary is claiming that she has made the "hard decision" to kill terrorists.

Well, first of all, as secretary of state, she didn't make those decisions. But more importantly, in what world is that a hard decision to make? Please, Mrs. Clinton, explain to us why you found taking out terrorists such a hard call.

And while she's at it, Hillary should explain to the American people why she and Obama made the idiotic decision to send terrorists we already had in Gitmo back to the battlefield.

Tough Hillary - Donald Trump ripped into Hillary Clinton yesterday during a rally in Florida. Trump said:"Hillary talks tougher about my supporters than she does Islamic terrorists. . . She called patriotic Americans who support our campaign . . . deplorable and irredeemable. . . Has she ever talked that way about radical Islam? No. Or about those who murder women and gays overseas? Has Hillary Clinton ever called people who support these practices deplorable and irredeemable? No!"The Clinton News Network -  Talk show host Laura Ingraham said this morning that CNN is acting like a pro-Clinton super PAC. She is right.

Sunday CNN removed words from Hillary's statement so they could attack Donald Trump for saying a bomb had gone off in New York City while pretending that Hillary had not said the same thing.

Yesterday CNN added a word to a Trump statement. During an interview with Fox News Trump suggested we should adopt profiling. CNN then ran headlines such as this one: "Donald Trump Defends Racial Profiling In Wake Of Bombs."

There's just one problem with that headline: Trump never used the word "racial" in his Fox interview.

What Trump is talking about is profiling based on behavior and demographics. That is what Israel does because it works.

By the way, the left-wing media are melting down today over . . . Skittles.

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted, "If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you just three would kill you. Would you take a handful? That's our Syrian refugee problem." It's a very reasonable point. Hundreds of immigrants have been charged with terror-related offenses in this country.

Polling tells us that significant percentages of people in Muslim nations harbor extreme views. If 100 people come from a culture that promotes extremism, how many would have to be jihadists before society decides not to let the 100 in? It's just common sense.

But then again, Hillary and her allies are at war with common sense on issue after issue.

The Pro-Life Candidate - For many voters, the sanctity of life is a paramount issue. Hillary Clinton has been very clear about her pro-abortion extremism.

Pro-life voters should be reassured about Donald Trump's commitment to life. First and foremost, he chose Indiana Governor Mike Pence to be his running mate.

In addition, the Trump campaign has announced the formation of a Pro-life Coalition, and I am honored to serve as one of the co-chairmen of this advisory group. In announcing this new coalition, Donald Trump once again pledged his commitment to the following critical issues:

• Nominating pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court
  
• Signing legislation ending painful late-term abortions
  
• Defunding Planned Parenthood
  
• Making the Hyde Amendment permanent law to protect taxpayers from having to pay for abortions.

ISIS Cheers Attacks, Tough Vetting, Trump, Clinton & Guns, Obama's Offended

by Gary Bauer, Contributing Author:   ISIS Cheers Attacks - The Islamic State was quick to claim credit for this weekend's carnage in St. Cloud and New York. After the bombing in Manhattan, Islamists celebrated on social media. And while local authorities struggled to understand the motivation of St. Cloud slasher Dahir Adan, ISIS hailed him as "a soldier of the Islamic State."

Below are some updates to our earlier report.

• Dahir Adan was brought down by Jason Falconer, a former police chief and off-duty officer. Falconer is also an NRA Certified Instructor and owner of Tactical Advantage shooting range. Once again, a good guy with a gun stopped the bad guy. Were it not for Mr. Falconer's courage and expertise, the carnage at the St. Cloud mall could have been far worse.
• Ahmad Khan Rahami, the Afghan immigrant and naturalized American citizen believed responsible for the New York bombing, was captured in a shootout with law enforcement authorities. He was discovered sleeping in the doorway of a bar. When a police officer approached him, he pulled out a gun, shot the officer in the abdomen and then fled the sceen. (Thankfully, the officer was wearing a bullet-proof vest and was not seriously injured.) It didn't take long before other officers caught up with him.
• Rahami was not on any known terror watch lists. He reportedly made several trips to Afghanistan in recent years. One friend told reporters, "At one point he left to go to Afghanistan, and two years ago he came back, popped up out of nowhere and he was real religious, and it was shocking."
• In 2011, Rahami and his family sued the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, for alleged discrimination and harassment of their restaurant. Police reports indicate that the restaurant was "known for criminal activity," and the family's lawsuit was summarily dismissed.
• Rahami carried out his attack in a progressive city where the left-wing mayor stopped the monitoring of mosques. The mayor did that because he said the surveillance was offensive to Muslims, which is exactly what Obama and Hillary Clinton say.
• President Obama finally addressed the attacks today. He warned reporters to "refrain from getting out ahead of the investigation." Obama added, "At this point, we see no connection between [the Minnesota mall attack] and what happened here in New York and New Jersey."
  
  Really, Mr. President? Allow me to enlighten you: Radical Islamic supremacists are trying to kill us. That is the connection.
• White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest added to the delusion when he told MSNBC, "When it comes to ISIL (ISIS), we are in a fight -- a narrative fight with them. A narrative battle."
  
  A "narrative battle"? No, Josh, this is a very real battle with bombs and bullets, beheadings and genocide. The "junior varsity" team means to destroy us, and it's time we stopped worrying about narratives.
• Hillary Clinton is blaming Donald Trump's "irresponsible, reckless rhetoric." That's just another way of saying we have to adopt Sharia law's restrictions against criticizing Islam in order to prevent the Islamists from attacking us. So the terrorism is working. Islamic supremacists who want to impose Sharia law, just need to keep attacking us and progressives like Clinton will continue capitulating.
  
  By the way, when Clinton spoke to reporters this morning, she declared herself to be an advocate of "tough vetting" for refugees. Is that "irresponsible, reckless rhetoric" or just another example of Donald Trump's leadership?
• Did you notice that Hillary Clinton and her media allies were more angry at Donald Trump for stating the obvious -- that there had been a bombing -- than they were at the Islamists who did the bombing? I was really hoping that Hillary would get tough and say that Islamists like those who committed these weekend atrocities belonged in a basket of irredeemable deplorables. But I guess that basket is already filled with us!

About That "Tough Vetting. . ."  Can the Obama Administration or a future Clinton Administration actually adequately vet immigrants, migrants and refugees from countries that are hot beds of Islamic terrorism? I wouldn't bet on it. The confidence level in big government is virtually zero, especially when you consider current performance.

The Associated Press reports that an inspector general's audit discovered that the Department of Homeland Security "granted citizenship to at least 858 immigrants from countries of concern to national security . . . who had pending deportation orders." Feel safer now?

Under Obama/Biden/Clinton, great efforts have been exerted to release EVERY Gitmo terror suspect and send them "home" to Islamic countries. But our Homeland Security Department is accidentally granting citizenship to potential future jihadists!

Trump, Clinton & Guns -  At a rally in Florida Friday evening, Donald Trump criticized Hillary Clinton's anti-Second Amendment proposals and suggested that she lead by example. Trump said, "I think her bodyguards should drop all weapons. Disarm immediately. Take their guns away, let's see what happens to her."

Trump was merely pointing out the hypocrisy on the left. Hollywood stars and left-wing politicians have armed guards, but they want to deny average Americans their right to defend themselves.

Clinton's media allies went nuts. They insanely accused Trump of advocating Hillary's assassination.

Now just to be clear -- only one candidate this year has actually been the victim of an attempted assassination and that was Donald Trump. The left assumes no responsibility for its overheated rhetoric comparing Trump to Hitler.

But let's play along with the left's logic for a moment.

After the Newtown school shooting, many conservatives suggested that we should arm teachers and have armed guards at schools. Hillary Clinton and the left mocked the idea, saying, "More guns aren't the answer."

Well, were Hillary and other liberals who insisted that schools not have armed guards suggesting that someone shoot up a school? Of course not.

Sadly, this is just one more example of how the left is incapable of having a serious discussion about serious issues.

Obama's Offended -  Uh oh. We've done it now. Hillary's poll numbers are setting off alarm bells across the country. Today's Washington Post had this headline: "Among Democrats, Deep Concern About Clinton's Hispanic Strategy."

It seems minority voters just aren't that into Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama is offended.

The president told the audience at a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation fundraiser this weekend, "I will consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy, if this community lets down its guard and fails to activate itself in this election."

I don't know about you, my friends, but I consider Obama's legacy to be an insult to America!

America Under Attack

by Gary Bauer, Contributing Author:  America Under Attack - The country breathed a sigh of relief that nothing happened on the 15th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. But this weekend, Islamic supremacists living among us unleashed attacks while our politicians ran for cover.

At this moment, after a weekend of pipe bombs and pressure cooker bombs, New York City is on the highest level of alert since the 9/11 attacks.

• The attacker in St. Cloud, Minnesota, who went on a stabbing rampage in a mall, is dead. Dahir Adan came here when he was just three years old. He had lived in the United States for nearly 20 years. Adan was a junior at St. Cloud State University. A family friend identified Adan as "the most assimilated kid in the neighborhood." Yet he was capable of attacking nine people at a mall after making sure that none of his victims were Muslims.   Adan is further evidence that there is a jihadist problem among the tens of thousands of Somalis living in Minnesota. Multiple Al Qaeda and ISIS fighters have been recruited from that community.
• Law enforcement officials in New York and New Jersey have spent the past 36 hours dealing with bombs in various locations. Dozens of people were wounded when one device exploded Saturday night in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. Five people were detained for questioning after their SUV, loaded with weapons, was stopped.  This morning police issued an alert for Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, a naturalized citizen from Afghanistan. Officials believe there is an active terrorist cell in New York and New Jersey.
• Both of these individuals -- one Somali and one Afghan -- are Muslims. They are here because of the immigration policies of the United States, policies pursued by Republicans and Democrats alike. These murderers are here because of decisions being made by our leaders, even though the American people want these policies stopped. Donald Trump, more than any other Republican candidate, understood this and built his campaign around it.
• Several commentators have said that finding lone wolves like the Minnesota slasher is almost impossible to do. "It's like finding a needle in a haystack," they say. I humbly suggest that the first thing you do to make that job easier is to stop making the haystack larger. Stop bringing in more hay -- stop bringing in more people from countries where Islamic radicalism is rampant.
• While these events were occurring, there was an attempted assassination of a policewoman in Philadelphia. Her attacker left behind a hate-filled letter making it clear how much he despised the police.   What inspired him? I don't need to remind you about the over-the-top, hate-filled rhetoric of the Black Lives Matter movement. But I will remind readers that ISIS has called for attacks against police in order to strike a blow against America. There have been multiple attacks against law enforcement officers that were inspired by ISIS propaganda.
• Also this weekend, there have been more stabbing attacks in Israel and in London.

Stupidity Contest - I just provided a summary of the evil attacking us. Now I want to do a summary of the stupidity that is governing us.

As these events unfolded over the weekend, it seemed progressive politicians were engaged in a stupidity contest. In strong contention is New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio who said that the Chelsea explosion was "an intentional act," but did not appear to be linked to terrorism. I don't know what that means. Is there such a thing as unintentional terrorism?

More than one left-wing politician, including Senators Chris Coons (D-DE) and Tim Kaine (D-VA), the Democrat vice presidential nominee, argued that the attacks in Minnesota, New York and New Jersey were evidence that we were winning the fight against ISIS. I suppose if 20 American cities are attacked in one weekend, they would suggest we throw a victory parade.

While they made this argument, they were citing mutually contradictory claims. On the one hand, they said we are taking territory from ISIS and as the terrorists get pinched they are sending fighters here. On the other hand, they say these are homegrown lone wolves with no connection to ISIS. Well, which is it?

Perhaps the stupidity award goes to the "Clinton News Network" for attacking Donald Trump for saying, "Just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows exactly what's going on." Within a few minutes, Hillary Clinton also referred to the bombing as she attacked Donald Trump for referring to the "bombing." CNN helpfully edited out her reference to the bombing in its reporting.

The Clinton campaign thinks it can score points by making Trump look rash and irresponsible while making her look thoughtful by not jumping to conclusions. Here's Hillary at 11 p.m. looking "thoughtful." Quite a few observers said she instead appeared exhausted and haggard. Within an hour #ZombieHillary was trending on Twitter.

By the way, Clinton was once in a position of responsibility when a terrible terror attack took place -- in Benghazi. Her "thoughtfulness" led her to lie to us about why it happened.

Here's a foreign entry for the stupidity contest. After a German party advocating stricter border controls performed well in local elections, the mayor of Berlin said that Germany needs to be on alert for rising Nazism.

The mayor is correct, but he's got it backwards. The pro-border control Germans are not the Nazis. The "migrants" pouring in from Muslim nations are the new Nazis. Many of them hate Christians, Jews and despise Western Civilization.

Needless to say, we are disappointed that as we are preparing to send this report, someone who is always a strong competitor for the stupidity award has not yet said a word about these multiple attacks on America . . . Barack Hussein Obama.

Trump Busts Muslim Protection Racket

by Ann Coulter: Forty minutes after the explosion in Chelsea Saturday night, Donald Trump told a crowd in Colorado that a bomb had gone off in New York and said, "We better get very tough, folks. We better get very, very tough."

For the next 48 hours, the media denounced Trump for jumping to conclusions about a "bomb" -- and especially for the wild suggestion that government policy had had anything to do with it. (How about our policy of naturalizing 858 people from terrorist-producing countries who were under orders of deportation? Is it deplorable to ask about that policy?)

That night, CNN boasted that it placed "numerous requests" to the Trump campaign, demanding his evidence that it was a bomb. This explosive-filled device with a detonator that blew up in a dumpster -- what makes you think it was a bomb?

Hoping to get a snappy riposte from the pouty pantsuit on Trump's wild leap from an explosion in a dumpster to a "bomb," the press asked her to comment on Trump's "conclusion" -- as they termed his statement of the blindingly obvious.

Hillary referred to the bombing as a "bombing," then snipped, "I think it's important to know the facts about any incident like this ... I think it's always wiser to wait until you have information before making conclusions."

True, there was a bombing, but that doesn't mean there was a bomb. Let's not fly off the handle. It could have been an exploding Edible Arrangement.

Even after the dumbest mammal in North America, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, had admitted it was a bomb, journalists were indignant that Trump had called a bomb a "bomb" before they said so.

On CNN's "Inside Politics" on Sunday, The New York Times' Maggie Haberman said that even Trump's supporters worry that "he often gets ahead of information" and that Democrats would make it an issue of his not being "careful, that he doesn't wait for facts. That he just goes off and talks."

Hey, Maggie? I'm a Trump supporter and I know lots of Trump supporters. None of us ever worry about Trump "getting ahead of the facts."

CNN's Sara Murray complained that Trump "seizes on these moments so instantly before we have the facts."

Instead of instantly seizing on this moment to assume Trump was wrong, shouldn't Sara have waited until all the facts were in?

On CBS' "Face the Nation," The Washington Post's Ruth Marcus announced, "I'm a facts girl" -- thanks for sharing your OKCupid profile with us, Ruth! -- "so I think the response, 'I'd like to wait for the facts until I comment,' is always a good idea."

The media was enraged that Trump was sensible enough to realize what had happened. HE COULD HAVE BEEN WRONG! Yeah, but he wasn't. As Trump said, "I should be a newscaster because I called it before the news."

By Monday morning, Hillary was doing PR work for Islam, calling the culprits "bad guys," but stressing that "we're not going to go after an entire religion." No one had suggested "going after an entire religion," but I guess you can never be too careful when dealing with all those deplorable, irredeemable Americans.

A few hours later, New Jersey police caught the suspect, an Irish Catholic altar boy from Teaneck named Seamus Patrick O'Sullivan. Just kidding! He was an immigrant from Afghanistan named Ahmad Khan Rahami.

This is the doubletalk the public has been forced to endure after every terrorist attack.

As described in In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome! our media and politicians are pretty quick to jump to the conclusion that terrorist attacks have absolutely nothing to do with Islam.

The night a truck bomb was found smoldering in Times Square, Mayor Michael Bloomberg went on "CBS Evening News" and said he thought it was somebody "homegrown," maybe "somebody with a political agenda that doesn't like the health care bill or something."

The morning after the massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando, NBC's law enforcement analyst, Jim Cavanaugh, said that his best guess was that the shooter was a person "rooted in white hate movements," and had picked the club "because it's a diverse club and he hates diverse people."

(By which I think he means yours truly! I have the perfect alibi, of course. If I ever found myself in a gay nightclub, I'd be too busy signing autographs to shoot anybody.)

The fact that the shooter was a second-generation Muslim immigrant named Omar Mateen, who had repeatedly pledged his allegiance to ISIS during the attack, was treated by our media as one of many strands of evidence, not nearly as important as the possibility that Mateen might be gay and had been scarred by America’s endemic homophobia.

After the 2009 Fort Hood attack by a Major Nidal Hasan yelling, "Allahu Akbar!" Obama warned Americans not to "jump to conclusions." (Deplorable, irredeemable Americans are always jumping to unwarranted conclusions!)

He proceeded to label the jihadist attack an act of "workplace violence." To Obama's credit, his policies have reduced workplace violence considerably by putting so many Americans out of work.

The media and Obama administration officials took weeks to settle on a motive for the San Bernardino terrorists, despite their having pledged allegiance to ISIS while committing the attack. That night, the Los Angeles Times falsely reported that an office dispute had preceded the slaughter. The Times won a Pulitzer for the reporting that included this intentional misdirection.

The left has apparently decided that white America is a declining demographic and they are going to treat Muslim grievance groups like NARAL: We are with you on everything. It's probably just a coincidence that Muslim immigrants are advantageous to the Democrats' electoral prospects.

Even the terrorists have been getting impatient with the American left's refusal to give them due credit. Major Hasan's spiritual adviser, Anwar al-Awlaki, denounced the Obama administration for denying that the Fort Hood shooting was a glorious act of Islamic terrorism. After Orlando, al-Qaida's in-house magazine, Inspire, ordered jihadists in America to concentrate on killing Anglo-Saxon Americans to avoid confusing the U.S. media.

When American settlers sent scouts to ride ahead and look for Indians, if the scouts returned saying there were 6,000 Sioux on the other side of the ridge, no one cared about their horsemanship or the language they used.

Trump is the only politician in 50 years to say, "Immigration security is national security." The media won't listen. But the voters are listening.

In Plain Sight

by Paul Jacob, Contributing Author: The Berlin terrorist attack just a little over a week ago fit a noteworthy pattern. German authorities had investigated Anis Amri — the Tunisian man who drove that large truck into a crowded Christmas market, killing 12 and wounding 56 others — and found “links with Islamic extremists.”

Later killed in Milan, Italy, Amri had been wanted in Tunisia for “hijacking a van” and jailed in Italy for arson and a “violent assault at his migrant reception center.” And yet with all that known or easily knowable, the German authorities couldn’t prevent him from killing innocent Germans.

It’s not just a European phenomenon, either.

Consider Omar Mateen, this country’s worst mass shooter, having massacred 49 people in Orlando’s Pulse nightclub. The FBI had spent ten months looking into Mateen.

Years before the Boston Marathon bombing, the FBI had tracked Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the bombers.*

“In case after case . . . authorities have come forward after the fact to say that they had enough cause to place the suspect under surveillance well before the violence,” the Washington Post recently noted. This was the case with the majority of recent lone-wolf terrorism plots.

“If any lesson can be learned from studying the perpetrators of recent attacks,” a report in The Intercept concluded, “it is that there needs to be a greater investment in conducting targeted surveillance of known terror suspects and a move away from the constant knee-jerk expansion of dragnet surveillance . . .”

Yet intelligence agencies are still grabbing our metadata in violation of the Fourth Amendment. That needs to stop.

The fact that known threats are consistently not being stopped suggests curtailing mass surveillance won’t hurt our security, but improve it.

Likewise, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad (formerly Carlos Bledsoe), who was under the active eye of the FBI after returning from Yemen . . . until he opened fire on a Little Rock, Arkansas, recruiting station killing one soldier and wounding another. Ditto Ahmad Khan Rahami, the less deadly bomber in New York City and New Jersey.
