The Audacity of Obama
Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum: When Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination, many had high hopes that his breakthrough would move American social consciousness forward into a post-racial era. Many thought the time had come when candidates would be judged by their qualifications and dedication to our country, not by their race. To see why it is impossible for Obama to play this transcending role, read his autobiography: "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance." His Dreams are obsessed with race and race conflict.
This book is an extraordinary 442 pages that appear to be written by an experienced novelist who knows how to tell a compelling story laced with minute detail about everything from clothes to odors, fictional characters, and invented conversations. It is complete with the colloquialisms, ungrammatical English, and four-letter words that the author thinks are appropriate to the people he quotes. Obama describes how he deliberately separated himself from his multiracial heritage in order to give himself a 100 percent black persona, different and alienated from the white world around him. Obama writes that the book is "a record of a personal, interior journey" to establish himself as "a black American."
With his new all-black identity, Obama stews about injustices that he never personally experienced, and feeds his warped worldview by withdrawing into a "smaller and smaller coil of rage." He lives with a "nightmare vision" of black powerlessness. Obama says that the hate doesn't go away. "It formed a counter-narrative buried deep within each person and at the center of which stood white people — some cruel, some ignorant, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives." Obama's worldview sees U.S. history as a consistent tale of oppressors and oppressed. He objects to the public schools because black kids are learning "someone else's history. Someone else's culture."
He even criticizes his white grandparents who worked hard to give him a privileged life. Their motives are a mystery to Obama because they came from the "landlocked center" of the United States which, he asserts, is full of "suspicion and the potential for unblinking cruelty." Obama grew up in Hawaii, the exemplar of a melting pot of races, yet he sees it as a place of "aborted treaties and crippling diseases brought by the missionaries." Although his mixed race was not a handicap in Hawaii, he whined that "we were always playing on the white man's court . . . by the white man's rules."
One day his grandmother, while waiting for a bus to take her to work, was accosted by a panhandler. She gave him a dollar but he aggressively demanded more, and she was scared because he looked like he might hit her. When Obama learned that the panhandler was black, he said the news hit him "like a fist in my stomach." Obama objected to the fact that his grandmother was "scared of a black man," and his resentment at her (not at the panhandler) was such a big deal that he referred to this incident repeatedly.
Obama immersed himself in the writings of radical blacks: Richard Wright, W.E.B. DuBois, Ralph Ellison, James Baldwin, and Langston Hughes. Obama's favorite became Malcolm X. Obama scarcely knew his father, yet Obama wrote: "It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."
Obama described his happiness in going to Kenya: "For the first time in my life, I felt the comfort, the firmness of identity that a name might provide." He felt he "belonged" and had come home. Apparently, the only other place he felt at home was in Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church in Chicago. Obama rejects racial integration because it is "a one-way street" with blacks being "assimilated into the dominant culture, not the other way around." Does he think America would be a better country if whites were assimilated into African culture?
There is absolutely nothing in this book that expresses pride in or love of or appreciation of America. In 442 pages of introspection extending over his life as a teen, undergraduate and law student at prestigious institutions, community organizer, or working adult, he doesn't say anything positive about American government, culture, society, freedom, or opportunity. Obama's refusal to wear an American flag pin on his lapel sounded too trivial for a campaign issue. But since there is nothing in his book about respect for the flag, or the republic for which it stands, maybe the flag-pin flap does indicate his disdain for patriotism. In his autobiography, Obama accepts the view that "black people have reason to hate." His later book is called "The Audacity of Hope," but his autobiography, which he has never disavowed, should be entitled "The Audacity of Hate." Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: Today, in addition to being in bloggers row and listening to a lot of good speakers at the AFP Defending the American Dream Summit, I have been posting comments to twitter and working with other bloggers. Below is an edited overview of this mornings key speakers by Krystle at Crystal Clear Conservative:
Fred Barnes, Editor of The Weekly Standard: "The election is not over yet. Sarah Palin seems to realize this, but someone better tell John McCain.” Sarah Palin has added energy and enthusiasm to the McCain campaign, however the downfall has been the looming economic crisis. Barnes also talked about free trade and the forced card check legislation. Barnes said our economy would suffer if card check passes Congress and was signed into law by the Obama-messiah (if he is elected). Card check would virtually become the death of every Right to Work law in our country. “Three and a half weeks is a lifetime in politics.” It is time for McCain to toughen up and fight hard, if he expects to win.
_________
Virginia’s Attorney General and next Governor, Bob McDonnell is currently on stage right now. He truly believes in true conservative principles. “AFP has made a difference in three short years, contributed to the near death of earmarks . . . Government does not create wealth or dreams, only the people can create this.” Additionally, McDonnell mentions how he has been cutting spending in Virginia by cutting his own budget and demanding more transparency in our government. “The Founders wrote the owner’s manual, read Chapter I, Section 8 of the Constitution, elect people that understand it, and create the re-birth of Federalism. The Constitution is not an ever changing document. Stand for the principles of limited government and property rights.”
________
Herman Cain, radio show host, gave the Line of the day: “Nancy Pelosi believes prosperity is a new direction, Harry Reid believes prosperity means blame it on Bush, Joe Biden believes prosperity means freedom, and Barack Obama believes prosperity means supposed change. I have a message for all of the liberal kool-aid drinkers. There is no Department of Happy in Washington, DC.”
________
Steve Moore, The Wall Street Journal columnist, is talked about his recent appearance on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. He got into an argument about government spending with Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA). “Who do you think is most to blame for the financial crisis? Do you think it was Wall Street?, Do you think it was rresponsible lending? Most people said it was Washington, DC and irresponsible spending.” The lefties want to socialize the economy. How can you cut taxes for 95% of the people when 35% do not pay taxes at all. Small business owners will be paying mostly all of the tax increases. “We are not running out of polar bears, they are just making this up. Global warming is a hoax. No more bailouts, this is not capitalism, it is socialism.”
_________
Grover Norquist, author of “Leave Us Alone” said, “Everybody is free. Hillary’s table (and now, Barack’s) are filled with trial lawyers.” It is time to stop giving money to the special interests who feed Hillary and Barack’s table. “Republican elected officials who vote for tax increases are rat heads in a Coke bottle and we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.” We need government transparency. Transparency allows us to have a say on what’s going on.
_________
John Fund of The Wall Street Journal is speaking to the audience. Fund mentions Wall Street’s collapse and the bailout bill, which benefited ACORN (they would have received money from the Housing Trust fund). Right now, there is a big voter fraud scandal brought to you by ACORN, who is registering felons to vote. Fraud is suspected in Pennsylvania, Nevada, and other battleground states. It is time for states to investigate ACORN and the Obama campaign. “ACORN’s offices in New Orleans host 120 front groups, and the Obama campaign has been funding them. The Obama campaign failed to register the ACORN voter drives properly, but mentioned them as “GOTV activities.” Our votes should not be counted out by those who vote twice, are fraudulent, and we should demand that. It is a non-partisan issue, and we should stand up for our rights.
_________
Rep. Tom Price (R-OK) identified that Jefferson and Madison never envisioned government would become like this. Our debt limit has grown by leaps and bounds. “Runaway spending now threatens our existence. An assualt on free capitalism is threatening our existence even more so.” There is no regard to reality with the Democrats in Congress.
_________
John Stossel: ABC 20/20: “Don’t you know the free markets are over as of this crisis? . . . The conomy’s destruction can be determined by inflation and unemployment.” We should re-value assets, re-negotiate with our lenders, and be more responsible with our spending habits. “Crisis is a friend of the state. Markets are too complicated for our government to regulate. It is intuitive to think the government to protect us.” The private sector always doesn’t pay. “How can there be a credit crisis when DiTech is still advertising 6% mortgages?” Stossel is definitely a strong libertarian thinker, and he makes sense compared to some of the corrupt legislators in Congress. “I’d say they’re spending like drunk sailors, but that would be an insult to sailors because they spend their own money.” It is time to leave free people alone and let us live our lives however we choose to. “The countries who have the most economic freedom have the most prosperity. The countries without economic freedom do not have the best prosperity.” Screw regulations! They are horrible. “Now, the politicians say we have to regulate health care…ummm, no.”

Arkansas' Rep. John Boozman Gets "True Blue" Award
While many Arkansans who support free markets were recently disappointed with U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) vote for the "bailout," Boozman was recognized yesterday for being on the right side for life. The Family Research Council (FRC) Action and Focus on the Family Action named Boozman as a "True Blue" Member of Congress. This award honors lawmakers who exhibit extraordinary leadership and commitment to supporting public policy that values human life. Rep. Boozman in responding to the designation said, "These are values that we learn growing up and we live by our entire lives. I will continue my commitment to protecting and strengthening the family, protecting our religious liberties and upholding the institution of marriage." Preserving the Range, Potecting Land Rights #AFP08
Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: In our century, property rights have come under direct attack from the environmental movement whose clear agenda is to transfer control of America's resources from private individuals to government and collectivist causes. This would be the death of our independence, our liberty and the American vision of freedom. "Stewards of the Range" was created in 1992 to pursue precedent setting litigation and to teach America's landowners how to defend and restore full respect for private property rights in America. They are actively committed to restore full respect for and compliance with property rights and constitutional principles. In doing so, we hope to return this nation to one grounded in the principles of freedom.
Today, at the AFP Defending the American Dream Summit, we met Fred Kelly Grant a very interesting character who may also be one of the best defendants of protecting the right of land owners against government agencies restricting or taking away ranch and farm owner's property rights. Margaret Byfield, secretary for Stewards of the Range said, "Mr. Grant is arguably one of the movement’s best strategist, drawing upon his vast experience working in and out of government, from Chief of the Organized Crime in Baltimore Maryland, to the Governors Office in Idaho. Few people know more about the structure of local government than Grant, and his expertise has helped local organizations and individuals develop strategies that have stopped the erosion of private property in communities across the nation."
Grant addressed the need for involvement by local government has the responsibility to protect the local tax base, value of private property, economic stability, well being of the school system and, in general, the well-being of the local community. Congress has provided for the involvement of local authority in every federal use statute passed over the past 35 years. Grant said, "In many of these statutes, Congress has mandated that the federal land use agencies 'coordinate' their policies and management activities with local government. Coordination means the federal agencies shall give prior notice to the local government of agency plans and management activities and, among other criteria, requires that the agency make their policies and management activities. Congress has directed the federal agencies to coordinate with local government because they recognize that local authority must be consulted and involved in the decision making process above and before the public input process. In summary, using the Congressional mandate of "coordination is a way to bring the decision making process back to the local level." Gary Bauer:Who Are The Weathermen? To understand this controversy and William Ayers, you first need to know about the Weather Underground. The group formed in the 1960s after splintering with the radical leftwing organization Students for a Democratic Society. According to a recent Time Magazine report, “While SDS promoted nonviolent protests, the Weathermen aligned themselves with violent groups like the Black Panthers.” As Time noted, the founder of the Weathermen wrote,“"There is no example of a peaceful road to fundamental social change."” Throughout the early 1970s, the Weather Underground claimed responsibility for a series of bombings against government buildings, including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon and the State Department. As a result of their terrorist activities, the FBI launched a massive manhunt that drove many Weather Underground members into hiding.
How Was William Ayers Involved? William Ayers was a co-founder of the Weather Underground. In 1969, the Weathermen launched the "Days of Rage" in Chicago, in which a mob ran through several blocks of an affluent neighborhood attacking cars, homes, police officers and businesses. More than two dozen police officers were injured, six Weathermen were shot, and nearly 70 protesters were arrested.
In 1970, the Weatherman bombed the home of a New York judge who was presiding over the trial of a group of Black Panthers. That same year, a letter was sent to the Associated Press, signed by Bernardine Dohrn, promising more bombings. Dohrn was placed on the FBI's “"10 Most Wanted List" for her terrorist activities. While on the run from the authorities, Dorhn and Ayers married and spent years in hiding. In 1980, Ayers and Dorhn, now with two children, came out of hiding and turned themselves in. Most of the charges against them had already been dropped because of what a court found to be unconstitutional surveillance. Dorhn, however, was sentenced to three years probation and fined. Unbelievably, Ayers and Dorhn found a refuge in academia. William Ayers is a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, while Dorhn, formerly on the FBI's "10 Most Wanted list," is an associate professor of law at Northwestern University.
What is the Ayers-Obama connection? In debates and interviews, Obama has tried to dismiss his connection to William Ayers by saying that he is just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood."” But, in 1995 Obama launched his political career with a fundraiser at William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn's home. That same year, Ayers founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and Barack Obama was chosen to be the foundation's first board chairman. Ayers and Obama served together on the board of the Woods Fund from 1999-2002. They regularly appeared together on academic panel discussions.
Unrepentant Clearly, Ayers is more than just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood."” In an interview this week with ABC's Charlie Gibson, Obama said of Ayers, “"This is a guy who engaged in some despicable acts 40 years ago when I was eight years old. By the time I met him, 10 or 15 years ago, he was a college professor of education at the University of Illinois."…” So we are left to assume that at some point, Ayers had a “"road to Damascus conversion,"” repudiated his terrorist past and radical ways, and has spent the rest of life doing good works.
The only problem with that story is that Ayers has never repudiated his past and seems to be proud of it. In September of 2001, Ayers was interviewed by the New York Times after he published his memoirs about his activities in the Weather Underground. When asked if he regretted his actions, Ayers offered this disgusting retort: “I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough.”
Obama and Ayers obviously worked together because they shared common values and beliefs, and as late as 2001 when Obama was not eight years old, but 40 years old; Ayers remained unrepentant about his past.
It would be bad enough if Ayers were the only leftwing, fringe extremist in Obama's background, but he is not. And the pattern of disturbing associations, what it says about the ideology and judgment Obama would take with him into the Oval Office, is a critical issue in this campaign. Senator McCain and Governor Palin are right to bring it up, and the American people should seriously consider the Obama-Ayers relationship before they vote. Politico reports "Conservative pundits and bloggers expressed outrage Wednesday over John McCain’s plan for the federal government to spend $300 billion to buy up troubled mortgages, announced during his debate with Barack Obama Tuesday night. . . . former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said on Fox News. “Conservatives are scratching their heads today and saying, ‘What happened?’” "What on earth is that about?" Huckabee asked. “Then you got to ask, which houses? . . .
When introducing his plan during the debate, McCain acknowledged that it carried a high price tag.“Is it expensive? Yes,” McCain said. “But we all know, my friends, until we stabilize home values in America, we're never going to start turning around and creating jobs and fixing our economy. And we've got to give some trust and confidence back to America.” Conservative financial scholar Alex J. Pollock of the American Enterprise Institute said he understands why conservatives are upset, but he sided with McCain nonetheless. “Nobody who understands the power of free markets likes bailouts, but it is a phase we go through again and again,” Pollock said. “These are not things you’d like to do, but you’re addressing the crisis, so you do it.”hr /> Tags:conservatives, John McCain, Election 2008, Mike Huckabee, mortgages, troubled mortgages, PoliticoTo share or post to your site, click on "Post Link". More ACORN Voter Fraud In Ohio - 9 State Investigation
Also See:Obama - ACORN Root Causes of Mortgage Crisis? & Comments The Traditional Values Coalition:Hundreds of thousands of fraudulent voter registration forms may have been submitted by ACORN – a group that works closely with the Obama campaign. Fox News ran a shocking story early this morning on a major voter fraud scandal in Ohio involving ACORN, the group that Barack Obama once represented as an attorney – and who trained ACORN activists in Illinois. TVC has reported for several years on ACORN fraud. It is a consistent pattern in every state where ACORN operates. (The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review has a list of nine states where ACORN is currently being investigated. They are: Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.)
The report from Fox News reporter Bill Sammon describes a brewing voter fraud scandal and ACORN officials now admit they can’t determine what registration forms are valid and those that are fake. It may involve as many as 600,000 registration forms.
Another Fox reporter noted that the $700 billion bailout package also has money in it that could be directed toward ACORN activities. ACORN also apparently has at least 150 other front groups associated with its activities. TVC had been told that money for special interest groups had been stripped from the bill that was finally passed. Conservative lawmakers are now working to get this money blocked from going to ACORN or any other liberal interest group.
“If even half of these voter forms are fraudulent, it calls into question the whole election in Ohio,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “It is time that state officials refuse to accept any ACORN registration forms. Their history of fraud should be reason enough to ban them from forever submitting another form to county clerks during an election cycle.” An ACORN office was raided in Nevada earlier this week as part of a nationwide investigation of consistent fraud perpetrated by ACORN workers.

SNL Skit Pulled - Skit Focused on Wall Street Bailout #pork
Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: I am not a much of a Saturday Night Live (SNL) watcher but when SNL bashes the Democrats and George Soros and their skit get pulled from the Internet, I get interested! You can still watch the SNL skit via the link below. The body slams and reality hit home right after the usual SNL attacks on G.W.; so make sure you stay with the presentation, it gets rather lively -- and even truthful -- on the cause of the mortgage and economic failures.
I can’t embed this because it keeps getting pulled. Thanks to Pat Dollard for hosting this video. This is what SNL should be doing, speaking truth to power. The sketch makes some great points:
Bush warned about Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae long before the Democrats, even though Pelosi has said the opposite and lauded the President’s economic policies
Many home buyers who were affected were horribly under qualified for mortgages
Other home buyers were wealth opportunists who will be OK in the long run
Those benefiting from the bailout are wealthy investors who don’t need a bailout
George Soros is a jerk
Of course it got pulled because it’s too harsh on the Dems and SNL can’t be too harsh on their favorite politicians! Thankfully at OpenMarket.org we realize that all politicians are worth lampooning. Check out the video here! . . .

Kerby Anderson, Point of View: If you think back to the 2000 Presidential election and Florida recount, all sorts of images come to mind. Butterfly ballots, absentee ballot scandals, felons voting, charges of voter suppression are just a few things that come to mind. These are not pleasant memories that any of us would want to repeat.
But there is a very real possibility that it could happen again. Recently I interviewed John Fund (columnist for the Wall Street Journal) about his newly revised book. Four years ago he wrote, Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy. This year he updated the information and added additional chapters. I asked John Fund how likely it was that we might have a repeat of the 2000 election. He believes that we have a one in three chance of our 2008 election going into overtime. All it would take is a close election in a key swing state. And we will be reliving the experience of the 2000 election.
His book also documents examples of voter fraud that have plagued our elections for years. He takes us on a guided tour of our error-prone election systems. . . . the perils of "provisional ballots" and the flaws of the "Motor Voter" law that has allowed people to get absentee ballots for phantom voters. He also talks about the vigorous opposition to photo ID requirements for voting. And . . . the registration drives of the radical group ACORN and Barack Obama’s involvement with ACORN. . . . Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: Like most blogging pundits, I receive several hundred emails a day suggesting material and while all are appreciated, only a few can be shared with our readers. This morning while getting ready to write about last night's presidential debate, an email caught my attention. The below words written by a blogger in Hawaii. Sanity102 provides a pragmatic view of two critical issues affecting the American decision on who should be our next president. I am sharing her complete post because the majority of you in the heartland can relate with her words. After reading, please consider leaving a comment at Ms. Sanity's neighborhood (note: highlights were added by me). And finally, thank you Sanity:
It’s time for the bottom line. No matter what you hear from both sides of the political aisle, the fact is that there are only two issues that the majority of Americans care enough to bother voting over.
1. The Economy. At this point, it really doesn’t matter what caused the crisis or who’s to blame. If you’re Liberal, you hate the idea of “bailing out the fat cats of Wall Street.” If you’re Conservative, you hate the idea of the government getting involved with free enterprise and the people who took the risk not taking personal responsibility for their mistakes.
At this time, I doubt there is very much anyone could say to you that will change your mind, but let me ask you this: when the dust settles and the anger cools, who do you want to clean up the mess?
For weeks people have been asking what happens if McCain dies…in the case of the economy, the one stepping up is the only one of the four that actually has practical experience. Trying to compare the 3 senators to Palin’s stint as mayor and governor is like comparing people in the accounting department that juggle numbers and move columns so the sums balance to the manager that is responsible for producing the numbers.
McCain, unlike the other two, did not attend expensive private schools or live the privilege life of the wealthy. McCain knows first hand about hunger and fear and has faced both with steely determination to overcome. Yes his wife’s money has afforded him and their children a comfortable life; but like most people who have had to work for their success, McCain will be forever tempted by the urge to clip a coupon to save a buck or get 30% off an item. (In the case of a U.S. senator, that means saving the tax payer and trimming off pork from government spending.)
2. 9/11 and another attack on U.S. soil. Like millions of other Americans, before 9/11, I paid little attention to politics and the world outside of my own little universe. Islamic Terrorism was a rude awakening. Now I have written about that awful day, when I “grew up” and understood for the first time that people that didn’t even know me could, in the blink of an eye, when I was asleep, destroy all that I knew and all that I held dear.
I have also written about G.W. Bush and how grateful I was–and am for him. I suspect that I am not the only one. Not a month goes by that I don’t read or hear, almost defiantly, someone ”confess” that they like the president. I tell them bluntly that I feel the same and for very selfish reasons. Sure, as a woman, I appreciate his ending the female apartheid of Iran and Afghanistan–like tons of other Internet users, I used to get all those emails about those poor women with no rights, virtual sex slaves. And yes, if he never did another thing in his life, giving two nations the Bill of Rights (which would have had the media measuring a place for him at Mt. Rushmore if he had been a Democrat) assures my good opinion of him forever.
But the reason I like G.W. Bush, the very personal reason, is that he returned MY world to me. There was no food rationing like in other wars…the empty streets of my town returned to raking in tourist dollars and airline fares got cheap enough to visit relatives several times a year. My company made money and hired more people and my neighbors sold their house and moved up to the more expensive homes on the hill. Computers got cheaper, our football team went unbeaten, and the final book in that fantasy series got written.
We went back to nit picking and each side of the political aisle tried to tell the rest of America that everyone agreed with their point of view.
But you and I know that someday there will be another September morning when the world as we know it will come to a screeching halt. It will anger/scare/depress us more than what’s happening to our economy. It won’t matter if you are pro-life or pro-choice…pro-gay or pro-marriage…for gun control or gun rights…anti-illegal immigration or pro-African American. We will all glue ourselves to the t.v. sets and radios.
The question is therefore…who do you want standing on that mound at ground zero? The man who wants to talk to the enemy and negotiate or the man who will put fear into their minds–and hope into our hearts?

Thanks!David Limbaugh, GOPUSA: There are many reasons that Sarah Palin is energizing the conservative base. It's not just her authenticity, freshness, noble defense of traditional values, and vivaciousness. This lady is finally giving red-state conservatives a voice, and she's taking it to the other side without apologies. Democrats are crying foul because she's confronting Barack Obama for his worrisome attitudes about America and his way-more-than-casual association with unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers. Some squeamish conservatives are counseling that we ignore this issue either because it is unpleasant and unfair or that it's a distraction from the "substantive" issues. Nonsense. This issue is neither unfair nor a diversion. It is imperative that we learn the extent of Obama's intimacy with this man. It's vital that we examine whether this relationship is part of a pattern of Barack Obama associating himself with people and causes that are hostile to the foundational principles of this nation. . . . Tonight, Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama will debate in a town hall together for the very first time. You'll have the opportunity to hear questions from everyday Americans and I know you'll see the sharp contrast between the liberal plan for America and the reform plan for America.
This summer, John McCain proposed a series of weekly joint town hall meetings with Senator Obama. But Senator Obama - no stranger to saying one thing and doing another - reversed his position and backed out. Simply put, the Obama-Biden Democrats' rhetoric doesn't match their record.
Don't be misled by the Obama-Biden Democrats. They've proven they'll say anything to get elected. And it's up to you and me to get the truth out to the American people. We are four weeks away from Election Day and we need your support to win important races across the country on November 4th.
When push comes to shove, Senator Obama and his friends on the far-left will always tell you one thing and do another. They say the troops have their support, but turned around and voted to take away critical funding for our men and women in uniform. They talk about cutting taxes, but turn around and vote for tax increases. They say they're for energy independence, but won't support crucial off-shore drilling efforts. We just can't trust them to lead. Tags:Barack Obama, debate, Election 2008, John McCain, presidential candidates, TownhallTo share or post to your site, click on "Post Link". National Black Republican Association (NBRA) releases Radio ads exposing the real Sen. Barack Obama as a Slum Lord and a far left-wing radical. One ad is about the shocking Boston Globe investigationthat includes the below video of poor blacks living in the Obama - funded slum lord projects who condemn Obama for not caring about them.
The NBRA radio ads demonstrate that, when the American people look behind Obama's slick, public facade, they see an inexperienced liberal who does not have the character and judgment to be our next president. To understand what Obama has in mind for the rest of America, visit any black urban community in this nation. Liberal Democrats have been running black communities for the past 40 years, and their socialist policies have turned those communities into economic and social wastelands. If Obama's messianic message of "hope and change" was so powerful, why are the poor people in Chicago still poor? The Globe article reports:
. . .that thousands of apartments across Chicago that had been built with local, state, and federal subsidies - including several hundred in Obama's former district - deteriorated so completely that they were no longer habitable. Grove Parc and several other prominent failures were developed and managed by Obama's close friends and political supporters. Those people profited from the subsidies even as many of Obama's constituents suffered. Tenants lost their homes; surrounding neighborhoods were blighted. . . .
Obama's campaign, in a written response to Globe questions, affirmed the candidate's support of public-private partnerships as an alternative to public housing, saying that Obama has "consistently fought to make livable, affordable housing in mixed-income neighborhoods available to all.". . . Among those tied to Obama politically, personally, or professionally are:
Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to Obama's presidential campaign and a member of his finance committee. Jarrett is the chief executive of Habitat Co., which managed Grove Parc Plaza from 2001 until this winter and co-managed an even larger subsidized complex in Chicago that was seized by the federal government in 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems.
Allison Davis, a major fund-raiser for Obama's US Senate campaign and a former lead partner at Obama's former law firm. Davis, a developer, was involved in the creation of Grove Parc and has used government subsidies to rehabilitate more than 1,500 units in Chicago, including a North Side building cited by city inspectors last year after chronic plumbing failures resulted in raw sewage spilling into several apartments.
Antoin "Tony" Rezko, perhaps the most important fund-raiser for Obama's early political campaigns and a friend who helped the Obamas buy a home in 2005. Rezko's company used subsidies to rehabilitate more than 1,000 apartments, mostly in and around Obama's district, then refused to manage the units, leaving the buildings to decay to the point where many no longer were habitable.
Campaign finance records show that six prominent developers - including Jarrett, Davis, and Rezko - collectively contributed more than $175,000 to Obama's campaigns over the last decade and raised hundreds of thousands more from other donors. Rezko alone raised at least $200,000, by Obama's own accounting. One of those contributors, Cecil Butler, controlled Lawndale Restoration, the largest subsidized complex in Chicago, which was seized by the government in 2006 after city inspectors found more than 1,800 code violations. . . .

The Republican vice-presidential candidate, Governor Sarah Palin, is refreshing in her outside-the-beltway behavior. On CBS with Katie Couric , Couric asked Palin about her views on abortion. Palin replied, "I am pro-life. And I'm unapologetic in my position that I am pro-life." Gov, Palin elaborated further that as she strives to create a culture of life, our society must provide for counseling and support for "women who find themselves in circumstances that are absolutely less than ideal." Tony Perkins, Family Research Council commented that Gov. Palin, "Describes perfectly the good work that Pregnancy Resource Centers across the nation do, as opposed to the "abortion on demand" mentality of facilities like Planned Parenthood" Ms. Couric comes off poorly during the interview when she tries to imply that those in the pro-life community, including Governor Palin, would seek to imprison women who have abortions. The only ones that talk about jailing women, it seems, are pro-abortionists and/or television personalities. The act of abortion itself is exploitative of the woman even as it kills her child." Tony Perkins, FRC Action: For the last time, the U.S. Supreme Court opened its session today with President George Bush in office. After eight years of the slimmest conservative majority, a new season of uncertainty is looming over the nation's highest court. Next year at this time, two-thirds of the Court will be at least 70 years old, and Justice John Paul Stevens will be one birthday shy of his 90th. To say the next president holds the keys to the make-up of this court-and lower ones-is an understatement. As writer Michael Doyle points out, President Bush has placed 316 judges on the bench since 2001, meaning that "one out of three federal judges now owes a lifetime-tenured job to the current president." President Bush's successor will inherit at least 44 vacancies in the federal judiciary-many of them considered "judicial emergencies" by the Office of U.S. Courts. . . . Sen. John McCain, "I will look for accomplished men and women with a proven record of excellence in the law, and a proven commitment to judicial restraint. I will look for people... [who] understand that there are clear limits to the scope of judicial power, and clear limits to the scope of federal power...They will do their work with impartiality, honor, and humanity, with an alert conscience, immune to...fashionable theory, and faithful in all things to the Constitution of the United States." Today in Washington D. C. - Oct 6, 2008 - Congress in Recess
The Senate is expected to remain in recess until Nov. 17th, when they will return for a lame duck session. The House has adjourned for the year and is scheduled to return on Jan. 3rd, unless the speaker calls them back.
Senate Democrats Scare the Markets. Over the weekend, The Wall Street Journal joined in criticism of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for some unguarded statements he made last week. On Wednesday Reid told reporters at a press conference, “One of the individuals in the caucus today talked about a major insurance company. A major insurance company -- one with a name that everyone knows that's on the verge of going bankrupt. That’s what this is all about.” (Video) The WSJ points out, “The next day, share prices fell sharply across the insurance industry. . . . The steep drop in the share prices of insurance companies Thursday destroyed wealth for uncounted middle-class investors holding onto stock in companies still considered healthy . . . It calls to mind Senator Chuck Schumer’s public suggestion in July that troubled IndyMac Bank ‘could face collapse.’ It did, after a deposit run.” Reid and Schumer should be aware that with jittery traders paying close attention to Washington, they should think more carefully before singling out companies.
Summary: Even with the Congress on recess, Americans are still irate! Markets are in free fall and businesses are having difficulty getting loans to pay for holiday merchandise. by AJStrata: Does anyone think Governor Sarah Palin is not a force in this year’s presidential race? Here’s something for folks to consider . . . "Thursday’s highly anticipated face-off between Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Delaware senator Joe Biden was the most-watched vp debate of all time. Last night’s event was seen by 69.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. That’s the most-viewed debate — presidential or vp — since the second round between Bill Clinton, Ross Perot and George Bush in 1992 (which also drew an audience of 69.9 million)." . . . Looking at the per network totals at Drudge I noticed PBS and C-SPAN may not be included in the tally, so this could be the all time record breaker! . . . PBS adds another 3.5 ,illion viewers making this debate number one even over the 1992 previous record holder. . . .
How is it the VP debate dwarfed the top of the ticket debate this year and all years past? Anyone going to try and claim all those viewers took time out of their busy lives to watch Joe Biden? Let’s get real here, 69.9 million people wanted to see Governor Sarah Palin. Biden cannot draw that kind of crowd. McCain doesn’t draw these crowds, even Obama doesn’t. Let’s put that into perspective using 2004 as the baseline; more people tuned into the debate than voted for Bush or Kerry (62 million and 59 million, respectively) in the last election. . . . [Not included in this excerpt is some some excellent commentary that is worth reading questioning the skewed polling results on who is leading in the polls to win the presidency] . . . Obama gets 6,000 to an event in PA this week, Palin is expecting 10,000. Yeah, Obama is taking the lead all right. . . Obama's Friend Bill Ayers Stepping on Flag [photos]
Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist turned professor and friend of Barack Obama, was photographed in 2001 stepping on the American flag while grinning. Note that one of the quotes on the top of the clipping by Bill Ayers is "Guilty as sin, free as a bird, it's a great country."
William (Bill) Ayers, a former member of the radical group the Weather Underground who is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Ayers donated $200 in 2001 to Obama’s Illinois state Senate campaign and served with him from 1999 to 2002 on the board of the Woods Fund, an anti-poverty group.
A Series of Bombings - The Weather Underground carried out a series of bombings in the early 1970s — including the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. While Ayers was never prosecuted for those attacks, he told the New York Times in an interview published Sept. 11, 2001, that “I don’t regret setting bombs.” . . . Ayers said he had no comment on his relationship with Obama.
Marathon Pundit has the story! Readers Comment; Congressional #Pork to #Obama to Government
The following comments were provided by our readers. In some cases, the comments may be funny while showing forth truthful insights. The comments are separated by dashed lines:
---------------- Technologically challenged! Barack Obama has put out an ad that simple minded John McCain cannot use a computer. Well guess what; Barack cannot land a jet plane on an aircraft carrier at night. John can.
---------------- Corporate Sponsors! After watching these politicians trying to vote on this "bailout" for the last week and adding senseless #pork to it, Congress members should wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers so we can identify their corporate sponsors.
----------------
“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” — Ronald Reagan
----------------
“Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy.” — Ernest Benn
---------------- “[A] wise and frugal government... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.” — Thomas Jefferson
---------------- Politicians - Change...Change...Change!!!
Not long ago I read a joke ... It said all the politicians running for president are promising change to the American people. We send them billions and billions of tax dollars and they send us the change. Funny? Not really; there is too much truth in it to be funny.
They all promise change. How about if they run on a promise of restoration rather than change. A restoration that would take us back in time to a place where things ran better, smoother and life was more enjoyable. Change? That, in truth, is what they have been giving us all along.
We used to have a strong dollar ... Politicians changed that.
Life used to be sacred ... Politicians changed that.
Marriage used to be sacred ... Politicians are changing that.
We used to be respected around the world ... Politicians changed that.
We used to have a strong manufacturing economy ... Politicians changed that.
We used to have lower tax structures ... Politicians changed that.
We used to enjoy more freedoms ... Politicians changed that.
We used to be a large exporter of American made goods ... Politicians changed that.
We used to be an openly Christian nation ... Politicians changed that.
We used to teach patriotism in schools .. Politicians changed that.
We used to educate children in schools .. Politicians changed that.
We used to enjoy freedom of speech ... Politicians changed that.
We used to enforce LEGAL citizenship .. Politicians changed that.
We used to have affordable food & gas prices ... Politicians changed that, too.
... and one could go on and on with this list.
What hasn't been changed? Politicians are promising to "change" if you will elect them. When is America going to open their eyes and look at what we once were and from where we have come and say, "Enough is enough"?
