Hillary Should Be Perp Walked For Disclosing Nuclear Weapons Secret Launch Time

Fairfax, Va. — Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement blasting Hillary Clinton for revealing the nuclear weapons launch times in the last debate where she said, “The bottom line on nuclear weapons is that when the president gives the order, it must be followed. There’s about four minutes between the order being given and the people responsible for launching nuclear weapons to do so”:

Hillary Clinton violated the law and put national security at risk on national television by disclosing how long it takes to launch our nuclear weapons. Her defense is that this information was already in the public domain. While that may be true, here’s the rub. Nobody has ever officially verified how long it takes to launch the nukes.

4-star General James Cartwright was just forced to plead guilty for authenticating classified information that was in the public domain, exactly what Clinton did on television. Once again, Clinton is being held to a separate standard.
Due to Clinton’s reckless behavior, every American is less safe from nuclear strike, as Vladimir Putin now knows how long it takes the U.S. to mobilize a retaliatory strike. She might as well have sent him an email while she was at it. For this one act alone, if Hillary Clinton were a mere 4-star general, she would be perp-walked and jailed. It is outrageous that Hillary Clinton remains on the ballot for the presidency when she has repeatedly shown complete and utter disregard for the national security of the United States of America, proving she is the only dangerous candidate. She should be disqualified.

Breaking News: Most Still Say Clinton Should Have Been Indicted

Sec. of State Hilary Testifys Before Congress on
Benghazi. 'What difference does it matter?'
Rasmussen Reports: Most voters still disagree with the FBI's decision not to seek a criminal indictment of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton over her mishandling of classified information when she was secretary of State, and even more rate the issue as important to their vote.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds after it concluded that she potentially exposed top secret information to hostile countries when she used a private e-mail server as secretary of State: Likely U.S. Voters
  • 39% agree with the FBI’s decision not to indict Clinton
  • 53% disagree and believe the FBI should have sought a criminal indictment against Clinton!
Seventy percent (70%) of voters say Clinton’s mishandling of classified information is important to their vote for president, with 49% who say it’s Very Important. ...

Newly released information shows that a State Department official offered the FBI a secret deal to take the classified rating off one of the e-mails Hillary Clinton sent on her private e-mail server.

That e-mail was about the incident in Benghazi, Libya in which four Americans were killed, including the U.S. ambassador [murdered], and was one that triggered the FBI's investigation of Clinton's private e-mail server. [Read More]

Lest We Forget: U.S. Combat Casualties in Iraq Rise to 3,693

More than 4,541 American military personnel have died
in Iraq since March 2003. (AP Photo/Steve Ruark, File)
by Patrick Goodenough: The U.S. serviceman killed by a roadside bomb north of Mosul Thursday is the fourth to be killed in action since the mission against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) was launched in 2014 – and the 3,693rd American soldier, sailor, airman or Marine to be killed in combat in Iraq since the war there began in March 2003.

The military member, whose details have not yet been released by the Pentagon, brings to at least 4,541 the number of American personnel who have died in Iraq – both in combat and otherwise – since then.

He died 4,962 days – more than 13 and a half years – after the first U.S. combat death was recorded in Iraq, on March 21, 2003.

A CNSNews.com database details all U.S. fatalities in Iraq over the 90 months of Operation Iraqi Freedom; the 16 months of Operation New Dawn running up to the withdrawal under President Obama of the last U.S. troops in December 2011; and the 25 months of Operation Inherent Resolve, the anti-ISIS mission announced by Obama in September 2014 (having declared three months earlier that an initial 300 military advisors were going in.)
Over the past two years, the number of U.S. personnel in Iraq has climbed to today’s official “force management level” of 5,262. (The Pentagon says the actual number stationed there, as opposed to fluctuating temporary deployments, is just below 5,000.)

The as-yet unnamed member killed on Thursday had been working as an explosive ordnance disposal specialist in support of Kurdish peshmerga fighters involved in the Mosul operation, the Associated Press reported.

He is the fourth American killed in combat since Operation Inherent Resolve began.

The first, 39-year-old Special Forces Master Sgt. Joshua Wheeler, died from wounds he sustained from enemy small-arms fire during a joint U.S.-Kurdish raid on an ISIS-run prison in Hawija, Kirkuk province one year ago this weekend.

Wheeler, from Roland, Oklahoma, was the first American to be killed in action in Iraq since 2011.

The second Operation Inherent Resolve combat fatality was Marine Staff Sgt. Louis Cardin, 27, of Temecula, California, who died on March 19 this year when ISIS fighters attacked a fire base in Mahmour, Erbil

On May 3, Navy SEAL Charles Keating, 31, of San Diego, Calif., was killed in a firefight near Tel Usquf, in Ninawa province.

Apart from the four deaths in action – the White House says the men were killed in combat, but not on a combat mission – there have also been at least 22 U.S. non-combat fatalities since Operation Inherent Resolve began: seven soldiers, six airmen, two Marines, four sailors and three Navy civilians. They are named below.

The very first U.S. combat casualty in Iraq when the U.S. invasion began was Marine 2nd Lt. Therrel Childers, 30, of Harrison County, Miss., who was shot during an assault on a pumping station in the south of the country. Marine Lance Corporal Jose Gutierrez, 22, of Los Angeles, died in a firefight on the same day.

Over the months and years between then and the Dec. 2011 withdrawal, another 3,689 Americans would fall in combat, according to the database. (Figures from other sources differ slightly, due to varying approaches to deaths in the broader region linked to the Iraq conflict.)

The deadliest month for American troops was November 2004, when 139 were killed in combat, followed by April of that year (125 combat deaths) and May 2007 (121 combat deaths).

The most costly sustained period were the nine months from October 2006-June 2007, when a total of 805 U.S. personnel died in combat. Only after President Bush’s troop “surge” in 2007 did the number of combat fatalities drop, with the monthly tally falling to single digits for first time in July 2008.

From a total of 784 in 2007, combat deaths dropped to 228 in 2008, and then to 71 in 2009 and 22 in 2010. 2011 saw a small uptick, to 34 combat deaths, 14 of them in June of that year.

The last combat fatality in Iraq – before the four Operation Inherent Resolve deaths – was Army Spec. David Emanuel Hickman, 23, of Greensboro, North Carolina. He was killed in a roadside bomb in Baghdad on November 14, 2011.

The 22 American personnel involved in Operation Inherent Resolve who have died in non-combat circumstances are:

--Army Warrant Officer Travis Tamayo, 32, of Brownsville, Texas, died on September 16, 2016, in a non combat-related incident in Abu Dhabi.

Good News, GOP Angst, Behind The President, The Future

by Gary Bauer, Contributing AuthorGood News - The media are working overtime to demoralize conservatives and convince us all that Hillary has already won. DON'T BELIEVE IT! Not every poll is predicting a Clinton coronation.
  • The Los Angeles Times daily tracking poll has Trump up 45% to 44%.
  • Rasmussen has Trump up 43% to 41%.
  • And the Investor's Business Daily poll -- the most accurate poll in the past three election cycles -- has Trump leading 41% to 40%.
My friends, we can win!

More importantly, we MUST win.

GOP Angst? Democrats and some Republicans continue piling on Donald Trump because he refused Wednesday night to give up his right to question election irregularities.

For months now, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have been constantly undermining confidence in our democracy, routinely suggesting that Russia might hack polling places and saying that Wikileaks is a Russian plot to get Trump elected.

Every Republican leader should be asking the obvious questions: Why would Russia be in favor of the candidate who wants to make America great again and who is promising a major military buildup? Why wouldn't Putin want Obama's third term?

Hillary brags about the fact that she opened the door to Iran, Russia's ally in the Middle East. Together, Iran and Russia are marching toward dominance in the region. Under Obama, Putin seized Crimea. So much for Hillary's "reset."

Given all that Obama and Hillary have said about Russia trying to steal the election, what if there is a shocking result on Election Day? What if Trump wins?

Will Obama and Clinton pack their bags and leave town quietly? I doubt it. I suspect that the left, aided by the media complex, will attempt to delegitimize Trump by suggesting Russia stole the election for him.

To this day, the left refuses to concede that George W. Bush beat Al Gore. Hillary Clinton has said that Bush was "selected, not elected," referring to the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court decision.

John Kerry still thinks the 2004 election was rigged against him.

Here's the latest: Obama officials are now claiming that Russian hackers might try to fake fraud just to sow confusion. Really? So if elections officials see what looks like fraud, what are they supposed to do? Assume it is Russian hacking and ignore it?

I understand why the left distorts a perfectly legitimate statement by Donald Trump. Their demand that he preemptively surrender is just more evidence that the left expects Republicans to lose gracefully. What I don't understand is why some Republicans are falling for this nonsense.

Today's Washington Post has this headline: "Trump's Refusal To Honor Outcome Swells GOP Angst."

One of the factors that contributed to Donald Trump's candidacy is that too many in the GOP suffer angst if they have to actually defend the values of the people who elected them.

GOP leaders should be feeling angst at the news that left-wing activists are stoking political violence against conservatives.

They should feel angst that a top Clinton operative is pushing voter fraud.

They should feel angst that a top Clinton ally in the media was feeding Hillary questions in advance.

They should feel angst about zombie voters.

The Republican Party and the entire conservative movement have been deeply concerned about cheating for decades. That is why GOP states have passed voter ID laws.

The American people are with us. They know there is a problem and they support our solutions.

Lose the angst and find some fight!

Behind The President - As I mentioned yesterday, when you vote for president you are also picking thousands of political appointees, hundreds of judges and members of numerous boards and commissions.

Remind friends that when you vote for Trump, you are voting for someone like Justice Scalia to fill a Supreme Court vacancy. When you vote for Clinton or vote third party, you are voting for someone like Ginsburg or Sotomayor.

You are also voting for the appointment of people like Lois Lerner at the IRS to continue to harass conservatives. Or you are voting for a reformer like Steve Forbes who could clean it out.

You are voting for someone like Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch to be attorney general. Or someone like my friend Ed Meese or Rep. Trey Gowdy.

Under Hillary Clinton, the secretary of Health and Human Services, who oversees Obamacare, will use the power of that massive bureaucracy to promote abortion on demand and make you pay for it. Under Donald Trump, we could have someone like pro-life retiring Senator Dan Coats of Indiana, a man of strong faith. Or even Dr. Ben Carson.

Imagine the Pentagon under Hillary Clinton. Already, it is wasting precious time and money promoting transgenderism and fighting climate change. We need leadership that is prepared to defeat our enemies and defend our interests around the world. Imagine Secretary of Defense Rick Santorum.

Do you want four more years of John Kerry as Secretary of State? Or would you prefer John Bolton?

Hillary Clinton's Education Department will continue Obama's radical efforts to allow boys into girls' bathrooms and locker rooms. It might even try to shut down homeschooling too. Now imagine Newt Gingrich, who has a Ph.D. in history, as secretary of education.

Some may say, "You have no idea what kind of people Trump will appoint." Yes we do. The first person he appointed was one of us -- Mike Pence.

Moreover, Trump, wisely and very early on, went to conservative groups in Washington and asked for help in identifying the right people. At the same time, left-wing pro-abortion, pro-Islamic groups are helping Hillary Clinton fill these positions.

Christian voters must have the wisdom to consider the reality of their vote and all its implications day after day for the next four to eight years. After eight years of decline and eroding religious liberty, how much more do you think we can endure? We MUST change course!

As someone whose first choice did not win the primary, I have no problem owning Trump's actions if he is elected. With Mike Pence at his side, I am confident he will make good decisions.

Those whose actions increase the chances of Hillary Clinton being elected will also own what she does.

The Future - Bloomberg had a fascinating poll that asked Democrats and Republicans who they would look to for leadership after the election. Among Democrats, the results were:Hillary Clinton 32%
Bernie Sanders 31%
Elizabeth Warren 23%
Tim Kaine 6%.
That Sanders and Warren command a majority shows you just how far left their party has moved.

On GOP side results were:Mike Pence 27%
Donald Trump 24%
Ted Cruz 19%
Paul Ryan 15%
John Kasich 10%.
I'm struck by the fact 70% of Republicans express support for a populist, conservative, Reaganesque vision, while the establishment wing of the party gets 25% support.

American Liar

by Beth Baumann: Secretary Hillary Clinton has continually flip flopped on the Second Amendment. She has repeatedly said she supports our right to keep and bear arms.

Is that why she has to continually preface every gun control proposal she has with “I support the Second Amendment” or “I’m not here to take away your guns?”

The NRA has a new ad, “America’s Liar,” which shows Clinton’s hypocrisy.

How Much Will Taxpayers Pay A Chinese Company To Locate In Arkansas

by Caleb Taylor: Arkansas taxpayers will pay approximately $3.2 million to a Chinese garment company that plans to create about 400 jobs in Little Rock, video statement by Gov. Asa Hutchinson today.

Hutchinson said in a statement today: I am thrilled to announce that Tianyuan has chosen Arkansas as their North American home. Arkansas’s strategic location will give them great access to the U.S. market and beyond.

According to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC), here are the guidelines that the Tianyuan garment company must meet in order to receive Arkansas taxpayer subsidies:
  • Hire 400 full-time permanent employees within 4 years of start of operations
  • Invest $20 million for equipment, purchase building, and make capital improvements to the building
  • Locate and operate an apparel manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas
  • No specific location has been determined at this time
According to AEDC, here are all the taxpayer subsidies Tianyuan Garments will be receiving:
Five (5) years of Create Rebate @3.9% – estimated benefit is $1,590,000
  • Tax Back Program – estimated benefit is $134,000 $1,000,000
  • Infrastructure Assistance Grant for building improvements and/or equipment purchases at the selected building in little Rock, Arkansas
  • $500,000 for training
  • AEDC will provide assistance in the form of a letter of support from AEDC for Tianyuan’s applications for 20 work visas for Tianyuan’s employees
  • PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) Agreement with Little Rock and Pulaski County to abate up to 65% of property taxes
According to basic math, the $3.2 million in taxpayer assistance equals $8,000 per job if the company meets that 400 full-time employee requirement. (Note: that $8,000 number doesn’t include the property tax abatement which hasn’t been calculated yet.)

To be fair, that $8,000 per job total is much better than previous deals the state has made in recent years; on the other hand, $3.2 million is still a lot of dang money to spend in Arkansas.

According to Hutchinson, the company hopes to be operational by the end of 2017.

Additional Information On Suzhou Industrial Park Tianyuan Garments Co. (Tianyuan): Founded in 1998. In 2015, the company was named one of the top 100 garment companies in China. The company's primary activity is the production of casual and sportswear garments, including garments for Adidas, Reebok, and Armani. Tianyuan was one of several suppliers for the 2014 World Cup and for the Italian Olympic Team in 2016. Tianyuan has five facilities in China.

Freedom to Work

The taxi monopoly's war on the sharing
economy takes an absurd new turn.
by Dr. Walter E. Williams: If a person wants to go into business as a taxicab owner, what requirements should be imposed to protect the public? The prospective taxicab owner should show that he is honest and can operate a vehicle safely. His vehicle should pass a safety inspection, and he should have a liability insurance policy. Some cities require the purchase of an existing license, sometimes called a medallion. A medallion has cost as much as over $1 million, as in the case of New York City, and the cost has reached $700,000 in Boston and $360,000 in Chicago. There is no public protection interest served by forcing a person to go into debt to purchase a taxi medallion, but doing so does serve an interest.

Before we talk about that, let's look at some good news for prospective taxi owners. The Arlington, Virginia-based Institute for Justice is a nonprofit libertarian public interest law firm that has been on the forefront in the fight for economic liberty for 2 1/2 decades. During that time period, it has piled up numerous victories. The most recent is its Oct. 7 win in the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which issued two groundbreaking decisions that will help cities to sweep aside protectionist transportation regulations in order to make way for new entrepreneurs.

The first case originated in Milwaukee, where Joe Sanfelippo Cabs, the city's largest taxicab operator in the city, filed suit claiming that the city had violated both the U.S. Constitution and Wisconsin state law when it lifted a long-standing cap on the number of taxicabs it would allow to operate. Of course, Joe Sanfelippo Cabs wanted to keep the number of taxis limited so as to maintain monopoly power and gain monopoly wealth. The second case originated in Chicago, where incumbent taxicab operators sued the city for permitting ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft to operate. The plaintiffs charged that because city officials did not go out and arrest Uber and Lyft drivers, taxicab owners' rights under federal and state law were violated.

Writing for the court in the case that challenged Milwaukee's removal of a cap on the number of taxicab medallions, Judge Richard Posner wrote: "The plaintiffs' contention that the increased number of permits has taken property away from the plaintiffs without compensation, in violation of the constitutional protection of property, borders on the absurd. Property can take a variety of forms, some of them intangible, such as patents. But a taxi permit confers only a right to operate a taxicab (a right which, in Milwaukee, may be sold). It does not create a right to be an oligopolist, and thus confers no right to exclude others from operating taxis."

In the Chicago case, Judge Posner, who is very knowledgeable about economics, applied the great economist Joseph Schumpeter's notion of "creative destruction." He explained that Uber, Lyft and other companies that are wreaking destruction on the old taxi cartel are examples of companies engaging in a natural part of free market behavior. Posner wrote: "When new technologies, or new business methods, appear, a common result is the decline or even disappearance of the old. Were the old deemed to have a constitutional right to preclude the entry of the new into the markets of the old, economic progress might grind to a halt. Instead of taxis we might have horse and buggies; instead of the telephone, the telegraph; instead of computers, slide rules. Obsolescence would equal entitlement."

Some city officials gain from taxi monopolies. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says he's against more taxis because of traffic congestion. However, it could be because New York's taxi industry contributed more than $550,000 for de Blasio's mayoral campaign. And whose side do you think black politicians and civil rights organizations are on, the side of incumbent taxi owners and taxi unions or the side of prospective taxi owners who have the physical means to get into the taxi business but not hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy a medallion?

An Establishment in Panic

by Patrick Buchanan: Pressed by moderator Chris Wallace as to whether he would accept defeat should Hillary Clinton win the election, Donald Trump replied, “I will tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense.”

“That’s horrifying,” said Clinton, setting off a chain reaction on the post-debate panels with talking heads falling all over one another in purple-faced anger, outrage and disbelief.

“Disqualifying!” was the cry on Clinton cable.

“Trump Won’t Say If He Will Accept Election Results,” wailed The New York Times. “Trump Won’t Vow to Honor Results,” ran the banner in The Washington Post.

But what do these chattering classes and establishment bulletin boards think the Donald is going to do if he falls short of 270 electoral votes?

Lead a Coxey’s Army on Washington and burn it down as British General Robert Ross did in August 1814, while “Little Jemmy” Madison fled on horseback out the Brookeville Road?

What explains the hysteria of the establishment?

In a word, fear.

The establishment is horrified at the Donald’s defiance because, deep within its soul, it fears that the people for whom Trump speaks no longer accept its political legitimacy or moral authority.

It may rule and run the country, and may rig the system through mass immigration and a mammoth welfare state so that Middle America is never again able to elect one of its own. But that establishment, disconnected from the people it rules, senses, rightly, that it is unloved and even detested.

Having fixed the future, the establishment finds half of the country looking upon it with the same sullen contempt that our Founding Fathers came to look upon the overlords Parliament sent to rule them.

Establishment panic is traceable to another fear: Its ideology, its political religion, is seen by growing millions as a golden calf, a 20th-century god that has failed.

Trump is “talking down our democracy,” said a shocked Clinton.

After having expunged Christianity from our public life and public square, our establishment installed “democracy” as the new deity, at whose altars we should all worship. And so our schools began to teach.

Half a millennia ago, missionaries and explorers set sail from Spain, England and France to bring Christianity to the New World.

Today, Clintons, Obamas and Bushes send soldiers and secularist tutors to “establish democracy” among the “lesser breeds without the Law.”

Unfortunately, the natives, once democratized, return to their roots and vote for Hezbollah, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, using democratic processes and procedures to re-establish their true God.

And Allah is no democrat.

By suggesting he might not accept the results of a “rigged election” Trump is committing an unpardonable sin. But this new cult, this devotion to a new holy trinity of diversity, democracy and equality, is of recent vintage and has shallow roots.

For none of the three — diversity, equality, democracy — is to be found in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers or the Pledge of Allegiance. In the pledge, we are a republic.

When Ben Franklin, emerging from the Philadelphia convention, was asked by a woman what kind of government they had created, he answered, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Among many in the silent majority, Clintonian democracy is not an improvement upon the old republic; it is the corruption of it.

Consider: Six months ago, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, the Clinton bundler, announced that by executive action he would convert 200,000 convicted felons into eligible voters by November.

If that is democracy, many will say, to hell with it.

And if felons decide the electoral votes of Virginia, and Virginia decides who is our next U.S. president, are we obligated to honor that election?

In 1824, Gen. Andrew Jackson ran first in popular and electoral votes. But, short of a majority, the matter went to the House.

There, Speaker Henry Clay and John Quincy Adams delivered the presidency to Adams — and Adams made Clay secretary of state, putting him on the path to the presidency that had been taken by Jefferson, Madison, Monroe and Adams himself.

Were Jackson’s people wrong to regard as a “corrupt bargain” the deal that robbed the general of the presidency?

The establishment also recoiled in horror from Milwaukee Sheriff Dave Clarke’s declaration that it is now “torches and pitchforks time.”

Yet, some of us recall another time, when Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas wrote in “Points of Rebellion”:

“We must realize that today’s Establishment is the new George III. Whether it will continue to adhere to his tactics, we do not know. If it does, the redress, honored in tradition, is also revolution.”

Baby-boomer radicals loved it, raising their fists in defiance of Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew.

But now that it is the populist-nationalist right that is moving beyond the niceties of liberal democracy to save the America that they love, elitist enthusiasm for “revolution” seems more constrained.

What goes around comes around.

We Cannot Be Silent

by Kerby Anderson, Contributing Author: Twenty years ago, no nation on earth endorsed legal same-sex marriage. Now same-sex marriage is everywhere. How did this happen? That is what Dr. Albert Mohler attempts to answer in his new book, We Cannot Be Silent. He was on my radio program to talk about his book.

He explains that this didn’t start with same-sex marriage. First, we had a sexual revolution. Initially some of the legal and cultural battles were over issues like birth control and contraception. America began to redefine marriage first by changing laws concerning divorce and later with the acceptance of cohabitation and sex outside of marriage.

There was also a homosexual rights strategy. Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen proposed a way in their book, After the Ball, to normalize homosexuality and marginalize Christians. They took advantage of the AIDS crisis to establish homosexuals as a victimized minority deserving of special protection and care. Albert Mohler explains how their strategy changed homosexuality from a vice to a virtue.

He also talks about the impossible possibility of same-sex marriage. Homosexual activists were able to shift public opinion in their attempt to redefine marriage in a relatively short period of time. The emerging generation sees this redefinition as necessary because homosexuality is portrayed as the next civil rights battle. Albert Mohler also talks about the transgender revolution. Most Americans are not even certain how to talk about it, especially in this postmodern world.

He concludes with chapters setting forth the biblical perspectives on sex, marriage, and family. And he raises important questions of what the homosexual movement will mean for religious liberty and the right to be a Christian. Our religious freedoms are in the balance in large part because of the sexual revolution and the redefinition of marriage. That is why we cannot be silent.

Soros Spends Over $48 Million Funding Media Organizations

George Soros buying the Media Voices
by Dan Gainor: It's a scene journalists dream about - a group of coworkers toasting a Pulitzer Prize. For the team at investigative start-up ProPublica, it was the second time their fellow professionals recognized their work for journalism's top honor.

For George Soros and ProPublica's other liberal backers, it was again proof that a strategy of funding journalism was a powerful way to influence the American public.

It's a strategy that Soros has been deploying extensively in media both in the United States and abroad. Since 2003, Soros has spent more than $48 million funding media properties, including the infrastructure of news - journalism schools, investigative journalism and even industry organizations.

And that number is an understatement. It is gleaned from tax forms, news stories and reporting. But Soros funds foundations that fund other foundations in turn, like the Tides Foundation, which then make their own donations. A complete accounting is almost impossible because a media component is part of so many Soros-funded operations.

This information is part of an upcoming report by the Media Research Centers Business & Media Institute which has been looking into George Soros and his influence on the media.

It turns out that Soros' influence doesn't just include connections to top mainstream news organizations such as NBC, ABC, The New York Times and Washington Post. It's bought him connections to the underpinnings of the news business. The Columbia Journalism Review, which bills itself as "a watchdog and a friend of the press in all its forms," lists several investigative reporting projects funded by one of Soros foundations.

The "News Frontier Database" includes seven different investigative reporting projects funded by Soros' Open Society Institute. Along with ProPublica, there are the Center for Public Integrity, the Center for Investigative Reporting and New Orleans' The Lens. The Columbia School of Journalism, which operates CJR, has received at least $600,000 from Soros, as well.

Imagine if conservative media punching bags David and Charles Koch had this many connections to journalists. Even if the Kochs could find journalists willing to support conservative media (doubtful), they would be skewered by the left.

For Soros, it's news, but it nothing new. According to "Soros: The Life and Times of a Messianic Billionaire," he has been fascinated by media from when he was a boy where early career interests included "history or journalism or some form of writing." He served as "editor-in-chief, publisher, and news vendor of" his own paper, "The Lupa News" and wrote a wall newspaper in his native Hungary before leaving, wrote author Michael T. Kaufman, a 40-year New York Times veteran. The Communist Party "encouraged" such papers.

Now as one of the world's richest men (No. 46 on Forbes' list), he gets to indulge his dreams. Since those dreams seem to involve controlling media from the ground up, Soros naturally started with Columbia University's School of Journalism. Columbia is headed by President Lee Bollinger, who also sits on the Pulitzer Prize board and the board of directors of The Washington Post.

Bollinger, like some of Soros' other funding recipients, is pushing for journalism to find a new sugar daddy or at least an uncle - Uncle Sam. Bollinger wrote in his book "Uninhibited, Robust, and Wide-Open: A Free Press for a New Century" that government should fund media. A 2009 study by Columbia's journalism program came to the same conclusion, calling for "a national fund for local news." Conveniently, Len Downie, the lead author of that piece, is on both the Post's board and the board of the Center for Investigative Reporting, also funded by Soros.

Soros funds more than just the most famous journalism school in the nation. There's journalism industry associations like:
  • The National Federation of Community Broadcasters;
  • The National Association of Hispanic Journalists;
  • And the Committee to Protect Journalists.
Readers unhappy with Soros' media influence might be tempted to voice concerns to the Organization of News Ombudsmen - a professional group devoted to "monitoring accuracy, fairness and balance." Perhaps a direct complaint to one such as NPR's Alicia Shepard or PBS's Michael Getler, both directors of the organization. Unfortunately, that group is also funded by Soros. At the bottom of the Organization of News Ombudsmen's website front page is the line: "Supported by the Open Society Institute," a Soros foundation. It is the only organization so listed.

The group's membership page lists 57 members from around globe and features:
  • Deirdre Edgar, readers' representative of The Los Angeles Times;
  • Brent Jones, standards editor, USA Today;
  • Kelly McBride, ombudsman, ESPN;
  • Patrick Pexton, ombudsman, The Washington Post.
The site doesn't address whether the OSI money creates a conflict of interest. But then, who could readers complain to anyway?

There's more. The Open Society Institute is one of several foundations funding the Investigative News Network (INN), a collaboration of 32 non-profit news organizations producing what they claim is "non-partisan investigative news." The James L. Knight Foundation also backs the network and is possibly the most-well-known journalism foundation. Knight President and CEO Alberto Ibargüen is on the board of directors for ProPublica.

INN includes the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University, the liberal web start-up MinnPost, National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting, National Public Radio, and the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism. The network had included the liberal Huffington Post investigative operation among its grants, but HuffPo investigations merged with the possibly even more left-wing Center for Public Integrity, on whose board Arianna Huffington sits.

Liberal academic programs, left-wing investigative journalism and even supposedly neutral news organizations paid for by a man who spends tens of millions of dollars openly attacking the right. George Soros is teaching journalists that their industry has a future as long as he opens his wallet.

Hillary Futures

by Paul Jacob, Contributing Author: Trust must be earned; Hillary Rodham Clinton hasn’t earned it.

And yet, if the polls hold, Mrs. Clinton will be elected the next president of these United States — the first-ever female commander-in-chief, sure, but viewed by a clear majority of Americans as untrustworthy.

Part of the problem is her husband Bill. The former president has been accused of inappropriate sexual advances and liaisons . . . and even sex crimes. Hillary’s campaign rightly keeps reminding people that he is not on the ballot. But wasn’t Hillary going to have Bill “run the economy”?

Besides, what’s most relevant is how she defended her philandering husband against his women accusers, with threats, intimidation, and a decided lack of feminist solidarity.

Older folks remember “Travelgate” (a self-serving gaucherie); even Millennials should recall the Bosnian “sniper fire” (self-aggrandizing fib). Then there’s Benghazi. Documents obtained by Congress show Mrs. Clinton immediately telling her daughter that the attack was a planned terrorist attack by an al-Qaeda affiliate. Nonetheless, Hillary publicly blamed the attack on an Internet video.

It was “extremely careless” for Hillary to have set up a private email server, vulnerable to foreign hacking. But how sly to use BleachBit to destroy her hard drive, erasing any money trail. And then, she responded to reporters asking if she wiped her server: “Like with a cloth or something?” Chutzpah.

Ugliest, though, was one of the earliest: cattle futures.

Evidence convinces me that Hillary took a nearly $100,000 bribe disguised as profits from trading cattle futures that she did not actually trade. James Blair, “who at the time was outside counsel to Tyson Foods Inc., Arkansas’ largest employer,” helped Clinton supposedly “out of friendship, not to seek political gain for his state-regulated client.”

The windfall profit was more than lawyer Hillary and Attorney General (and then Governor) Bill earned together annually from their two fulltime jobs. Quite a risky “gamble.” Does Hillary seem like a reckless gambler?

So many scandals and lies. From the next president.

Senator Thom Tillis Delivers the Weekly Republican Address on Obamacare

‘In North Carolina, there is now one – just one – insurer left on the Obamacare exchange in 95 out of 100 of our counties. To make matters worse, those same North Carolina families will also be hit with a nearly 25 percent premium increase hike next year.’

WILMINGTON, NC – In the Weekly Republican Address, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) addresses the continuing consequences of Obamacare and how it is impacting families across North Carolina. “[T]here is now one – just one – insurer left on the Obamacare exchange in 95 out of 100 of our counties. To make matters worse, those same North Carolina families will also be hit with a nearly 25 percent premium increase hike next year.” Video and full transcript below:

Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC)

Hi, I’m Thom Tillis, and I’m proud to be a Senator from the great state of North Carolina.

“Earlier this week, we heard President Obama deliver a speech to update the American people on his health care law, Obamacare. Rather than admit Obamacare isn’t working, the president painted a rosy picture that doesn’t match the reality experienced by millions of Americans. It’s certainly not what we’re seeing here in North Carolina with the latest wave of premium increases and policy cancellations. Even President Bill Clinton had to admit that the consequences of Obamacare are, in his words, ‘the craziest thing in the world.’

“Just a few years ago, President Obama repeatedly promised families that they would be able to keep their health care plans if they liked them. We all know that wasn’t true, as millions of Americans received cancellation notices, forcing them to pick a new plan and in many cases a new doctor. He also promised that Obamacare would lower insurance premiums by some $2,500 a year. Instead, the premiums have increased by an average of nearly $5,000 a year since before the law was enacted. I agree with President Bill Clinton, the reality of Obamacare is the craziest thing in the world.

“Since I became a Senator in 2015, my office has been inundated by countless letters, emails, and calls from North Carolinians telling us how Obamacare has been a nightmare for them and their families.

“One such letter came from a couple who are life-long small business owners and they’re ready to retire. They explained to me that this year, their premium under Obamacare jumped to $1,400 a month, forcing them to forgo health insurance all together for the first time in their lives.

“I received another letter from a father of a family of four. He and his wife both work full-time and they’re already gone through their entire savings to make ends meet during this Great Recession. He’s seen his family’s premiums go up [from] $600 a month before Obamacare was signed into law [to] $1,700 a month this year.

“These stories are heartbreaking, the tragedy is how common they are in communities across North Carolina. Many families haven’t seen the worst of Obamacare yet. Unfortunately right now, at least 1.4 million Americans – including more than a quarter of a million North Carolinians – are receiving cancellation notices informing them that they will lose the healthcare plans they purchased under Obamacare. That’s a consequence of insurers dropping out of the program at an alarming rate.

“In North Carolina, there is now one – just one – insurer left on the Obamacare exchange in 95 out of 100 of our counties. To make matters worse, those same North Carolina families will also be hit with a nearly 25 percent premium increase hike next year.

“Unfortunately, instead of working across the aisle to fix this mess, President Obama and congressional Democrats are in denial. In fact, they’re doubling-down on their support for this failed law. Their solution is a so-called public option, which will eventually lead to a single-payer, government-run system that would put your family’s health care in the control of unelected bureaucrats in Washington. In other words, their solution to a failed government plan, is more government plans!

“Republicans in Congress have taken a much different approach. We’ve been listening to the frustration felt by the American people.

“Led by members like North Carolina Senator Richard Burr, we’re pursuing commonsense reforms to replace Obamacare. Reforms that put health care decisions back into the hands of patients and doctors. Our reforms will allow for families to get the insurance coverage that meets their needs.

“Patient-centered reforms, like Richard Burr’s, would lower health costs while helping protect Americans with preexisting conditions, without the need for costly government mandates. Americans have a stark choice to make to determine the future of health care in our country.

“We can continue down the path created by President Obama and expand Obamacare, leading to fewer choices, and even higher premiums and deductibles. Or we can address what we already know: Obamacare is broken. So let’s instead implement a commonsense solution that will result in higher quality healthcare, more choices, and lower costs.

“The heartaches of Obamacare don’t have to be the norm. There’s a better way to improve and modernize our nation’s health care system, and only Republicans are offering that alternative.

“Thank you for your time, and may God bless you and continue to bless the United States of America.”

Our Private Sector Medical System is Suffering Myriad Government Assaults…

by Seton Motley, Contributing Author: ... Republican Chairman Fred Upton should preempt one of them.

Ain’t government medicine great? Of course, it ain’t.

Obamacare…is an unmitigated disaster. Insurance premiums have exploded. On average, 41% in 2014. Another 24% in 2015. Couldn’t find specific, general numbers in 2016 – but they were again double digit increases. And 2017 is looking another 30%+ awful. Deductibles have also increased dramatically. And despite the fact that people are mandated by law to sign up – sign-ups are way short.

Medicare…is an unmitigated disaster. In 2012, the program faced $38.6 TRILLION in future liabilities – for which it does not have the money. In these last four years, do you think that gigantic problem has gotten better – or worse?

This titanic economic shortfall is even more ridiculous – considering it’s getting harder and harder to find any health care providers who will see Medicare patients. For decades, more and more providers have started refusing to see them. Because Medicare doesn’t pay in anywhere near a timely fashion – and it absolutely does not pay anywhere near enough.

Medicare needs to be completely privatized. But this is DC, so that won’t happen. Short of that, it needs drastic, dramatic reform. But this is DC, so…. In the meantime, attempting to squeeze more blood from provider stones is not even close to a solution. At this point, you’ve already wrung-beyond-hope any conceivable savings out of our depleted, diminishing Medicare provider force.

Medicare is a massive, multi-faceted government failure. Yet again taking it out of the hide of the private sector doesn’t solve anything.

So why is this about to happen?

As Homecare Industry Confronts Medicare Cuts, Upton May Be Roadblock to Fix: “Medical suppliers are confronting devastating cuts to Medicare reimbursement rates, but despite bicameral and bipartisan efforts in Congress to delay the cuts, it remains unclear whether legislation will pass in the upcoming lame duck session.”

More cuts to Medicare providers. That’ll help with Medicare provider retention. And…

Wait – did someone say “bipartisan?” At this point, that is a DC unicorn. Actually, it’s the DC offspring of a unicorn and a pegasus. So what’s the problem? “Sources on Capitol Hill tell InsideSources that outgoing House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., is the chief roadblock to passing a bill….Upton’s office did not respond to a request for comment.”

If Chairman Upton had a great explanation for this – you would think he would be actively seeking an opportunity to proffer it.

It could be something as innocuous as “The lame duck session is tight – and we haven’t yet tried to find room for this.”

If that’s all it is – they should absolutely make room.

If it’s something else – we would really like to know what and why.

Because yet again crushing the private sector to make up for government uber-failures – is not what we normally look for in Republican Committee Chairman.

Clinton Claims She ‘Does Not Recall’ 20 Times in Under Oath Responses to 25 Email Questions

(Washington, DC) Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday responded that she “does not recall” 20 times in her under oath responses to 25 Judicial Watch questions concerning her Clinton.com non-state.gov email system.

The new Clinton responses were received yesterday in the Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit before Judge Sullivan, which was first filed in September 2013 seeking records about the controversial employment status of Huma Abedin, former deputy chief of staff to Clinton. The lawsuit was reopened because of revelations about the clintonemail.com system (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:13-cv-01363)).

Below are the 20 email issues about which Hillary Clinton claimed under oath she “does not recall”:

Response 3: Clinton said she does not recall any specific consultations regarding the decision to use the clintonemail.com account for official State Department business.

Response 4: Clinton said she does not recall participating in any communications before or during her tenure as Secretary of State concerning to her decision to use a clintonemail.com account to conduct official State Department business.

Response 6: Clinton said she does not recall being advised, cautioned, or warned, she does not recall that it was ever suggested to her, and she does not recall participating in any communication, conversation, or meeting in which it was discussed that her use of a clintonemail.com e-mail account to conduct official State Department business conflicted with or violated federal recordkeeping laws.

Response 7: Clinton said she does not recall considering factors other than convenience in deciding to use a personal e-mail account to conduct official State Department business.

Response 8: Clinton said she does not recall whether she had a specific expectation that the State Department would receive FOIA requests for or concerning her e-mail.

Response 11: Clinton said she does not recall specifically informing the State Department’s records management personnel about her use of her clintonemail.com e-mail account to conduct official State Department business… And she does not recall interacting with Clarence Finney or employees of the Executive Secretariat’s Office of Correspondence and records.

Response 12: Clinton said she does not recall State Department personnel asking her for access to her clintonemail.com e-mail account to search for e-mail responsive to a FOIA request during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Response 15: Clinton said she does not recall what precisely she meant by the words “address” or “device.”

Response 16: Clinton said she does not recall requesting a State Department-issued Blackberry or a State Department e-mail account in or around August 2011.

Response 17: Clinton said she does not recall reviewing Assistant Secretary Bowell’s Information Memo attached as Exhibit D to Plaintiff’s Interrogatories during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Response 18: Clinton said she does not recall seeing the June 28, 2011 cable attached as Exhibit E to Plaintiff’s Interrogatories during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Response 19: Clinton said she does not recall being advised, cautioned, or warned during her tenure as Secretary of State about hacking or attempted hacking of her clintonemail.com e-mail account or the server that hosted her clintonemail.com account.

Response 20: Clinton said she does not recall considering whether to allow the State Department access to her clintonemail.com e-mail account when she was preparing to leave office… She does not recall anyone from the State Department asking her for access to her clintonemail.com e-mail account or asking her to print her work-related e-mails when she was preparing to leave office.

Response 21: Clinton said she does not recall considering after she left office whether she could alter, destroy, disclose, or use emails concerning official State Department business.

Response 22: Clinton said she does not recall altering, destroying, disclosing, or using any e-mails related to official State Department business from her tenure as Secretary of State in her clintonemail.com account or instructing anyone else to do so after she left office and before her attorneys reviewed the e-mails in her clintonemail.com email account in response to the State Department’s request.

Response 25: Clinton said she does not recall having communications with Bryan Pagliano concerning or relating to the management, preservation, deletion, or destruction of any e-mails in her clintonemail.com email account.

“Hillary Clinton’s alleged failures of memory are incredible and show she fears full disclosure about her emails,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Trump Lands Real Blows In debate, Clinton Threatens War Against Syria, Russia Again

A Brain-damaged US President with
Finger on the Nuclear Button?
by Rick Manning: Trump showed the knowledge and resolve to perform the duties of the presidency of the United States. The operative question is, will America choose to continue along the same path or will voters elect a change in direction economically, socially and culturally?

Will voters accept an anemic 1 percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth as the new normal, with the resulting continued downward spiral of American prosperity? Will voters accept a continuing barrage of Washington regulations that tighten the economic noose around their future opportunities?

Will they accept having their taxpayer dollars used to fund an organization that sells the baby body parts of children ripped from the wombs of their mothers during late-term abortions?

Ironically, for all the high talk about the legitimacy of elections by Clinton, the just-released video proof from Project Veritas Action that her operatives paid people to disrupt Trump rallies and create violence against Trump supporters shows that it is Clinton and her team that disrespects the American political process, opting instead for a Third World approach to voter intimidation to gain power.

In the second video, a Clinton operative talking about how to perpetrate election fraud ought to send chills down everyone’s spine. Yet some want to harp on Trump’s refusal to give carte blanche approval in advance.

Combined with Clinton’s vehement opposition to the individual right to keep and bear arms that was revealed through her opposition to the District of Columbia v. Heller decision, and her continued assault on the First Amendment through her plan to appoint justices who would repeal Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the Democratic nominee is the most dangerous candidate in history when it comes to the future of individual liberties in America.

If possible, even more distressing was Clinton’s continued defense of her no-fly zone idea in Syria, an idea rejected by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as possibly leading to direct war with Russia.

Incredibly, when confronted by this fact, she did not back down from her nuclear brinksmanship, but somehow tried to create a fantasy world where she would negotiate a deal with Syria and Russia to allow the U.S. to control Syrian airspace.

Only Clinton has now twice threatened escalating Syria to a military confrontation with Russia, demonstrating that she is the one who canNOT be trusted with her finger on the nuclear button.

After the Las Vegas debate, Clinton has got to be wishing that what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas, because Trump emerged from the stage as the only choice for president in 2016.
