If Obama Wins, You Must Disclose Your Personal Health ID Number to the IRS
While YOU the taxpayer will be subject to the Individual Mandate and reporting requirement identified in the below article, the following persons are granted exemptions from Individual Mandate: Prisoners, Undocumented Immigrants (e.g, Illegal Aliens), Welfare Recipients and any other favored by an HHS-granted religious exemption. Christians are already denied an exemption as individuals but not Muslims and yet to be determines other religions..
Grover Norquist, President,Americans for Tax Reform: If President Obama is re-elected, Obamacare will continue to go into effect piece by piece. By now, you already know about the 20 new or higher taxes in the bill, but most Americans are not yet aware of the intrusive role the IRS will play in enforcing Obamacare.
Starting in 2014, all Americans who file income tax returns must complete an additional IRS tax form: the Obamacare Individual Mandate Tax Compliance form. Under the Obamacare mandate provision, you must disclose your personal health ID information to the IRS. To educate voters about this rarely reported requirement, Americans for Tax Reform has released a projected tax form to help American families realize how much more the IRS will be invading your personal lives going forward.
“Highlights” from the Obamacare Individual Mandate Tax Compliance Form include: Determination of “qualifying” health insurance. Under the Affordable Care Act, most Americans must purchase health insurance deemed “qualified” by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) starting in 2014.
Disclosure of personal identifying health information. Every family that files a tax return (140 million households) will have to disclose whether or not they were covered by a qualifying plan, in which months they were covered, and what type of coverage they received.
IRS penalties and interest on unpaid mandate taxes. Because the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate penalty is a tax, the IRS will be able to assess interest and non-criminal penalties on those families who will not or cannot pay the tax. The IRS will issue regular, periodic correspondence audits to these families to help them comply with their filing responsibilities.
Take action now by making sure your friends and family are aware of the new IRS requirements and what the Obamacare Individual Mandate Compliance Form could look like in the future. Obamacare played a major role in reshaping Congress in 2010; it can have the same impact in 2012.
Please make sure your friends and family know what’s coming in 2014 if Obama wins! Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) named Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Jeffrey Zients its October 2012 Porker of the Month for promising to pay the legal fees of federal contractors who, under Department of Labor (DOL) orders, do not issue layoff notices to employees whose jobs could be in danger due to looming spending cuts. Large employers are obligated under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) to issue layoff notices 60 days in advance of a “reasonably foreseeable” event, such as the automatic spending cuts, or sequestration, triggered by the Budget Control Act of 2011. Instead, contractors who follow OMB’s instructions have been promised that any litigation fees that arise from layoffs without prior notice will be covered by taxpayers.
Sequestration requires the $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts to take effect on January 3, 2013. Contractors would have a deadline of November 2, 2012 – the Friday before Election Day – to issue layoff warnings to their employees. However, those contractors were told in a memo from OMB to “minimize the potential for waste and disruption associated with the issuance of unwarranted layoff notices” by not issuing them at all. The memo goes on to state that “any resulting employee compensation costs for WARN Act liability as determined by a court, as well as attorneys’ fees and other litigation costs, would be covered by the contracting agency” (emphasis added).
Sens. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) issued a letter to Director Zients on October 1, 2012, demanding an explanation of DOL’s legal authority to tell contractors not to provide WARN Act notices, the legal authority of OMB to do the same, and to “explain in detail why … the Obama Administration did not have to first obtain approval from Congress before committing to pay tens or hundreds of millions of dollars (if not billions of dollars) in judgments, settlements and/or attorneys’ fees.”
On October 5, Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) sent a letter to the 15 largest U.S. defense contractors warning that, should they follow OMB orders, they would be setting up their companies for “serious legal and financial repercussions,” and that the senators “will oppose any requested funding increase in the budget process … to reimburse contractors for any expenses resulting from failure to comply with the law.” Whether a majority of senators agree with Sens. McCain and Graham remains to be seen.
“Director Zients’ legally questionable decision to put taxpayers on the hook for legal fees incurred by DOL’s reckless directives is appalling,” said CAGW President Tom Schatz. “It is hard to interpret OMB’s actions as anything other than an attempt to force taxpayers to pay what amounts to hush money in the run-up to an election.”
For ordering federal contractors to subject themselves to lawsuits and promising that taxpayers will pick up the tab, all in the name of winning votes, OMB Director Jeffrey Zients is CAGW’s October Porker of the Month.
---------- CAGW is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government. The the first action, changing our clocks back, is a realization that we were really fooling ourselves part of the year when we messed with God's design of the solar system. Mankind got on perfectly well without the modern creation of "Daylight Savings Time. The rest of creation didn't even know it.
However the second action, changing presidents, will be a realization that American can do much better. May it be "from our lips to God's ears." NRCC: For generations, we've understood that with a little hard work, nothing was beyond our grasp. It's time we had a government that worked with us, and not against us. The "This is Our America" campaign shares stories from candidates and regular Americans around the country who are fired up about the 2012 election and have faith that America is bigger than it's challenges.
We are the National Republican Congressional Committee, and our mission is to make sure Congress spends and taxes less, so the economy can get back on track.
TRANSCRIPT OF VIDEO:
Rep. Mike Kelly: I really think this election is not just for control of our government. It's for the heart and soul of this country. And if we lose this now, we'll never, ever regain it. It'll be gone forever.
Mia Love: For the first time, parents don't believe their children are going to have the same opportunities they've had. We are not better off than we were four years ago.
Rep. Allen West: When I think about what kind of America I leave for my children and my grandchildren, I can't saddle them with this debt. I can't saddle them with a dependency society.
Sean Hintze: We have to tighten our belts. I think that Washington has to do the same thing.
Rep. Stephen Fincher: We're about individual freedom, we're about communities helping and taking care of one another. We want to grow the middle class. Give every opportunity to people to be whatever they want to be.
Beverly Middaugh: I only ask for two things. Freedom and opportunity. Freedom and opportunity. With that, we can do worlds.
Susan Brooks: I think that this election, is one of two paths. Do we want more government intervention in our lives, or do we want less?
Fincher: Folks, this is the most important election of your lifetime. This is about restoring American, common sense, core principles back to each American. Giving you the opportunity to choose and decide what you want to be.
Kelly: And on that day, November the 6th, there can be nothing that holds you up from getting from where you are to where you need to be to cast that ballot.
Gov. Mitt Romney: I have a plan that takes advantage of the extraordinary opportunity that exists in America right now. That's going to get this economy going again and create jobs, jobs, and more jobs.
We've seen the last four years. We don't want four more years like the last four.
Kelly: We're going to fight. We're going to make sure we keep this America, this dream, this way of life alive for generations to come. It's incumbent upon us. It's not an option. This is one you don't walk away from. This is not a storm that's going to blow over. This is one you have to face head on. Liberal Think Tank Calls For Cuts In Military Pay And Benefits
Dr. Bill Smith, Retired USAF Officer: Risking your life for 20 to 30 years or even dying in the service of the United States is not worth much to the liberal Center for American Progress (CAP) funded by progressive socialists like George Soros (e.g., $3 million grant) and whose members advocate for President Barack Obama's progressive agenda. It is apparent, at least to this writer, that CAP fails to see much value in the already underpaid population of professionals (be they officers or non-commissioned officers and other enlisted persons) who can not be unionized and who love America and predominately conservative based on their willingness to take an Oath to "Support the Defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic."
Today, the Military Officers of America (MOAA) responded to the latest CAP liberal anti-military proposal:
by MOAA: On Halloween, the Center for American Progress (CAP) released yet another report that is anything but a Halloween treat -- calling for huge cuts to military pay, retirement, and health care benefits.
Titled "Rebalancing Our National Security," the report's task force opposes the across-the-board cuts of sequestration, but suggests shifting more spending from the Defense Department to the State Department and Homeland Security. In CAP's terminology, the intent would be to move from "offense" to "prevention" (non-military international engagement) and "defense."
As part of that process, CAP recommends capping military pay raises, cutting troops assigned permanently in Europe and Asia, and scaling back military retirement and health care benefits.
Their retirement reform proposal is a retention-killing combination of the Defense Business Board and 10th Quadrennial Review of Military Compensation recommendations. It would put new recruits under a 401K-like retirement system, and would grandfather only part of the current force.

Their retirement reform proposal is a retention-killing combination of the Defense Business Board and 10th Quadrennial Review of Military Compensation recommendations. It would put new recruits under a 401K-like retirement system, and would grandfather only part of the current force.
MOAA believes such attacks on career service benefits are reckless and misguided in the extreme.
They ignore that the current package of retirement and health benefits is the primary incentive to induce top-quality people to endure the extraordinary demands and sacrifices inherent in a 20-30 year career in uniform.
They also ignore that a far less-drastic retirement change imposed on new service entrants after 1986 had to be repealed after the Joint Chiefs of Staff complained it was undermining retention and readiness.
These kinds of trick-or-treat proposals would be ludicrous if the threat they’d pose to readiness weren’t so serious.------------ MOAA is the nation's largest and most influential association of military officers. It is an independent, nonprofit, politically nonpartisan organization. With more than 370,000 members from every branch of service - including active duty, National Guard, Reserve, retired, former officers, and their families - MOAA is a voice speaking for a strong national defense and representing the interests of military officers at every stage of their careers. Phil Kerpen, Contributing Author: The fiscal cliff looms and, because it would be the largest tax hike in history, certainly deserves all the attention it’s getting. But a regulatory cliff also looms — an astonishingly growth-crushing regulatory agenda that could be even more devastating than the fiscal cliff. How devastating? Obama refuses to tell us. And that’s illegal.
Under the Regulatory Flexibility Act, the president is required by law to submit his regulatory agenda to Congress twice a year, in April and October. The report is required to include every economically significant regulation in the pipeline. This year, April came and went and the legally required report wasn’t filed.
Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) last week politely asked President Obama to follow the law: “I request you comply with the law and publish the federal government’s regulatory calendar this month. Businesses and communities need to understand the future regulatory landscape in order to properly plan and invest in the economy.”
The reply? None. October came and went with no response and no legally required regulatory agenda report. That’s because complying with the law would tell the American people how much economic pain the Obama administration has stored up for a potential second term.
We don’t know exactly how big the regulatory bomb is going to be because of Obama’s illegal secrecy, but an estimate from the National Federation of Independent Business of some of the known rules clocks in at over $515 billion in economic costs. That estimate doesn’t even include an expected ban on coal-fired power plants whose costs could run into the trillions.
That rule is slippery because it would purport to effectively ban new coal-fired plants, with a stated cost of zero because natural gas is presently so cheap that new coal capacity isn’t being built. But it would also create the predicate for litigation that would shut down existing coal plants, cementing as Obama’s legacy his promise to bankrupt coal and make electricity prices skyrocket.
There are also several onerous financial rules pending pursuant to Dodd-Frank. The Labor Department has been working on a rule that would significantly increase the cost of retirement planning. The Department of Transportation has a rule pending to require rear-view cameras in all cars and trucks that would cost billions, and another to require airplane-like “black boxes” that would potentially make available to the government every detail of Americans’ driving habits.
What else? Who knows? It could run well into the trillions. The law requires the president to tell us. But he’s breaking the law.
That shouldn’t surprise us considering the extra-legal governing style that defined Obama’s term. Cap-and-trade failed? Have the EPA do it. Net neutrality dead-on-arrival in Congress? Let the FCC invent the authority for itself. No card check? Get the NLRB to sue non-union employers. Obama’s interior secretary was actually held in contempt of court for imposing an illegal offshore drilling ban; Obama didn’t budge.
So now the Regulatory Flexibility Act joins the country’s immigration laws on the roster of laws Obama simply disregards — the flipside of all those failed bills he has regulators pretend passed.
In January of this year, President Obama declared the Senate to be in recess the day after it gaveled into session. Like a king dissolving parliament, he put them in recess to give himself a free hand to stack the NLRB with union cronies and to install Richard Cordray at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a new agency with nearly unlimited power to regulate consumer financial transactions with almost no oversight from Congress other than the right of the Senate to approve the appointment. It gets its budget not from Congress but from the Federal Reserve.

Updated 12:18 PM- ARRA News Service - This morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest jobs numbers.
Opening Summary:The Economy Sucks and Remains Stuck under the Obama administration!
Today, Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) released the following statement in reaction to the October jobs report from the U.S. Department of Labor. A net total of 171,000 jobs were created, and the unemployment rate for October increased to 7.9 percent.
“Today’s lackluster jobs report is simply the latest confirmation that the economic policies of the Obama Administration have failed the over 12 million Americans who are unemployed and looking for work. Those dropping out of the labor force have outnumbered new employees by almost 7 to 1 after almost 4 years of the Obama economy. This is more evidence that the President has taken the country down the wrong track, and we must reverse course.”
And consider this disturbing reality, the real unemployment rate was 14.6%. This includes the underemployed and those who have given up looking for work. No wonder the the economy and unemployment is "in the toilet" under the Obama administration.
Background: This morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest jobs numbers, reporting the unemployment rate edged up to 7.9% after the economy added 171,000 jobs.
This month’s report is further confirmation that too little is being done to spur a recovery. It’s unacceptable that millions of Americans sit out of work, waiting to see our economy turn around.
We’ve all heard the president on the campaign trail saying things are getting better. But Americans can see all around them the last four years has not yielded the recovery we need. We cannot afford to wait any longer. The last four years have just given us more spending and more debt, doing little to put Americans back to work. It just isn’t working.
Every month we see the unemployment tick up or down by a few tenths of a percentage point, but the simple truth is that it remains far too high. In the remaining few days of the campaign, we’ll surely see candidates politicize this report. But Washington must see this as more than just another monthly report. These are Americans who are trying to get by, struggling to make ends meet. This isn’t about politics. This is about people.
Updates Added 12:18 pm:
The New York Times [Liberal leaning] noted, “In the last assessment of the job market before the presidential election, the Labor Department announced Friday that the nation’s employers added 171,000 positions in October, and more jobs than initially estimated in both August and September.” The AP adds, “The unemployment rate rose to 7.9 percent from 7.8 percent in September. That was mainly because many more people began looking for work, and not all of them found jobs.”
The AP notes, “[T]here were also signs of the economy's persistent weakness.Reuters writes, “A full recovery from the 2007-09 recession remains distant and even sustained monthly job gains of 171,000 would likely bring down the unemployment rate only slowly. The jobless rate, which peaked during the recession at 10 percent, remains about 3 percentage points above its pre-recession level. Indeed, the persistently high unemployment rate has undercut wage growth. Average hourly earnings fell one cent last month to $23.58. Over the past year, they have risen just 1.6 percent, the lowest on records dating to early 2007.”
And according to the NYT, “A queue of about 12 million unemployed people remain waiting for work, about two out of five of whom have been out of a job for more than six months. That is in addition to more than eight million people who are working part-time but really want full-time jobs.”
Not noted in the articles is that after two years of President Obama getting the economic policies he wanted enacted by a Democrat Congress, and four years of him putting in place regulations he prefers, the economy doesn’t appear to be any better off than when the president took office. The unemployment rate is still above where it was in January 2009, even after the nearly $1 trillion stimulus, paid for with borrowed money. And unemployment far exceeds where the Obama administration’s economists predicted it would be today if the stimulus passed. As the AP puts it, “President Barack Obama will face voters with the highest unemployment rate of any incumbent since Franklin Roosevelt and slightly higher than the 7.8 percent on Inauguration Day.”
The Details Beyond the Numbers: One of the ARRA News Service's non-partisan research sources is Public Notice. Today they provided the following facts behind and beyond the BLS report:
Washington holds us back from a recovery!
·It’s no coincidence that as the debt has increased 52% over the past 44 months, the unemployment rate has hovered near 8% or higher.
·The economy is just not adding enough jobs. If the economy consistently added as many jobs as it did in October, it would take 7 more years for the unemployment rate to reach 4.4%, the lowest mark under the Bush Administration.
·President Obama has centered his first term around massive, unaffordable efforts that have driven the nation deeper into debt and done little to put Americans back work.
oAfter four straight years of deficits in excess of $1 trillion, the unemployment rate sits right where it was when the president took office.
oThe administration’s massive stimulus-spending package provided an unfortunate example. The nearly $1 trillion package drove our economy deeper into debt. Now, almost four years later, our economy is growing at anemic levels and millions of Americans remain out of work.
·Beyond unemployment, Washington’s fiscal irresponsibility is hurting American families in other ways.
oA record 46.7 million Americans are on food stamps.
oCollege tuition is up 25%.
oGas prices are up 100%.
·All this plays into one of our economy’s greatest challenges: uncertainty. Policies coming out of Washington make it far too difficult for businesses and the American people to plan ahead.
oUnsure of what taxes, spending, and regulation will look like, businesses are unwilling to expand, invest, and hire.
oExcessive and unnecessary federal regulations discourage businesses from investing and hiring new workers.
oA recent poll of small businesses and manufacturers showed that “two of the biggest challenges facing small business owners and manufacturers are government spending and federal, state, and local taxes.”
·When will Washington face the facts? Putting millions of Americans back to work cannot happen on the back of government spending. Until Washington makes real spending cuts, the economy will continue to struggle.
·It’s time for Washington to stop holding back a recovery. Hardworking taxpayers will be the foundation for economic growth, not government.
·The focus has shifted away from creating growth by encouraging businesses to invest and entrepreneurs to take risks to a world where the government is more active than it can afford to be or that Americans want it to be.
·Americans are ready for an honest conversation on our country’s biggest problems. These aren’t Republican or Democrat problems. They’re American problems. It’s time for Washington to set aside the partisan rhetoric and crony politics and start working for us.
·We deserve better. We deserve bold, competent leadership that insists on decisive action and real solutions.
October unemployment, a closer look:
The real unemployment rate was 14.6%. This includes the underemployed and those who have given up looking for work.
23 million Americans are still looking for work. In January 2009, that figure was 22 million.
Two out of five Americans looking for work have been out of work for more than six months.
3.6 million Americans have been out of work for a year and are still looking for work.
813,000 Americans have stopped looking for work
In January 2009, the average amount of time spent unemployed was 19.8 weeks. Today, the amount of time has doubled, rising to 40.2 weeks from 39.8 weeks last month, the highest since December 2011.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President, Susan B. Anthony List: This new ad from the pro-life SBA List debunks the claim that Planned Parenthood, America's #1 abortion provider, provides mammograms but does not provide abortions. The ad also hits back on the falsehood that religious institutions including hospitals and charities are not forced to provide coverage of abortion-inducing drugs under the HHS Preventive Services Mandate.
"With Obamacare and the HHS Mandate, President Obama has launched an unprecedented attack on freedom of religion and the rights of conscience. President Obama knows this -- and in an effort to distract the media and grassroots, he and his team have resorted to using scare tactics with women's health," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA List.
"Planned Parenthood's own annual report reveals that it is the largest abortion provider in the nation -- it does not provide comprehensive, whole woman's health care, including mammograms. The HHS mandate forces religious institutions and Americans of faith and conscience to violate their beliefs and pay for coverage of abortion-inducing drugs. Women want and deserve leaders that care about access to comprehensive, whole woman care, not those who promote only abortion-centered institutions and policies."
Following Vice President Biden's claim that Catholic hospitals and charities would not be negatively impacted by the HHS Mandate, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) responded on October 12 with a letter saying: "This is not a fact. The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain 'religious employers.' That exemption was made final in February and does not extend to 'Catholic social services, Georgetown Hospital, Mercy Hospital, any hospital,' or any other religious charity that offers its services to all, regardless of the faith of those served."
The Washington Post fact check column recently awarded President Obama three "Pinocchios" for repeatedly saying that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms. According to HHS, no Planned Parenthood clinic in the country is authorized to perform mammograms under the federal Mammogram Quality Standards Act. A recent paper published in First Things pointed out that abortion is 125 to 165 times more profitable than mammography. During fiscal year 2009-2010, Planned Parenthood reported more than one billion dollars in net assets. . . . Whoa! Our friend Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka, "Joe the Plumber" is NOT dead. He is still with us and running to represent Ohio's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives: campaign site; Twitter; and FaceBook. Congress needs him!
The Title addresses the following video. Watch this video and then ask yourself, are we (you) really better off than we (you) were four years ago? The following is a real world example of what has played out all around our great country. The story of a multi-million dollar plumbing company that could not survive the Obama RECOVERY. Many thanks to Wells Fargo for not being there when we needed them. They were unwilling to pick up the phone and tell us that until it was too late. But then again they only ignored all follow-up attempts for 13 months in all. Too big to do it right or even care.Update: Nov 5, 2012: For unknown reasons the video has now been set to private and cannot be viewed. The story was important and the ARRA News Service does not know why it was removed or if pressure was placed on Bob Wernly or the maker of the video about the fate of the Plumbing Company: Greater Denver Mr. Rooter. A line appears in a Denver Post article addressing an "Alleged Centennial-based health-insurance scam" which included a comment by Bob Wernly: "Bob Wernly of Greater Denver Mr. Rooter, a plumbing company that lost money with RHPI, said he was surprised by how quickly the federal government moved on the indictment, since news of RHPI's troubles surfaced in November. "I have no hope we'll see anything back from the assets," Wernly said.Joe The Plumber Is Dead.

Between news about Benghazi, Sandy, the alleged actions of a certain Senator, tomorrow’s jobs numbers, and next week’s election…take a quick minute to watch the following new video about the Smith family. Just like some other folks you know, the Smiths have a big spending problem.
Republican Study Committee: Is it fair to spend so much today that our kids are massively in debt when they grow up? That's the question facing the Smith family in the video.
Our video may be light-hearted, but the subject is serious. All this spending and debt weighs down our economy and threatens America's ability to protect itself in a volatile world. When we (the government) owe so much to China and other countries, we owe it to ourselves to spend less and start balancing the budget.

News Critical of Obama Admin Subsidized But Now Bankrupt Battery Maker A123
SAMUEL ADAMS
by Sam Adams MMIV:The Washington Times reported yesterday, “The recent bankruptcy of battery maker A123 Systems after it won a nearly quarter-billion-dollar federal grant threatens the business prospects of another well-known government-backed company: luxury car manufacturer Fisker Automotive. Fisker has received nearly $200 million in federal loan money in recent years, but one of its signature vehicles is powered by batteries that come off the assembly line of bankrupt A123 Systems. And now A123 wants to get out of its contract with Fisker, according to court records. . . . The problem for Fisker is that the car manufacturer has no short-term suppliers for the batteries that help power a high-end sports sedan it makes called the Karma. . . . The Energy Department has, through loans or grants, been generous to both companies.”
So it looks like the bankruptcy of another company that the Obama administration’s Energy Department used taxpayer money to subsidize is affecting another company that got federal assistance from the Energy Department.
But that’s not the only issue arising from the bankruptcy of A123. According to The Wall Street Journal, “A123 Systems Inc., the electric-car battery maker that recently filed for bankruptcy, is seeking emergency approval to tap a $50 million loan provided by a Chinese auto parts maker to fund its Chapter 11 case pending an auction of the clean energy firm. Lawyers for A123 Systems said Sunday in a bankruptcy court filing that Chinese auto parts maker Wanxiang Group Corp. will provide the so-called debtor-in-possession financing, replacing initial lender Johnson Controls Inc. Wanxiang's bankruptcy loan, which cuts the interest rate to 12% from 15% from Johnson Controls' initial offer, comes as a bidding war heats up between the two companies vying for the Massachusetts-based battery maker's assets.”
Reuters notes, “The Obama administration's investment in the advanced battery sector created just over 12,000 jobs, costing nearly $160,000 per position, according to an analysis from two Republican senators released on Wednesday. Republicans have blasted President Barack Obama's efforts to jumpstart clean energy development, accusing the administration of wasting taxpayer dollars on well-connected companies with little hope of success. The administration's advanced battery initiative, which awarded $2 billion in funding under the 2009 stimulus package to help expand U.S. manufacturing capacity, has come under fire in recent weeks after the bankruptcy of government-backed battery maker A123. Using government data, Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and John Thune said the program created 12,613 jobs at a cost of $158,557 per job. ‘The expense is significant, especially when many of the jobs were temporary,’ Grassley said in a statement. ‘The administration should not overstate the value of this program as a boon to economic recovery.’”
In other words, another green energy company touted by the Obama administration was given millions in taxpayer dollars by the Energy Department and subsequently went bankrupt. That company may now be dragging down another company the Energy Department has given federal assistance to. And the bankrupt company is now turning to Chinese companies for cash. Meanwhile, Republican senators have pointed out that the program the Obama administration used to prop up this company cost nearly $160,000 for every position created, and many of those positions are now being lost.

Phil Kerpen, Contributing Author: The economy is limping along at an official 2 percent growth rate — and even that is overstated because it includes a 9.6 percent increase in deficit-financed government spending. The private sector grew at just 1.6 percent last quarter. Employment data remains weak. Household incomes continue to fall. We're already in the recession red zone, and the largest tax hike in American history looms January 1 if Congress fails to reach an agreement to cancel it. In this contest, the presidential election boils down to a remarkably simple choice: recession or real recovery.
An Obama reelection would all but guarantee the economy tips back into recession next year. For one thing, the purported recovery he's presided over is already the weakest on record. Since the recession officially ended and we entered recovery three years ago, household incomes have actually fallen by $3,000.
Labor markets are extraordinarily weak. Even with the surprise decrease in unemployment in September, that report still found over 12 million Americans unemployed — more than when Obama took office. Add to that 8.6 million Americans working part-time for economic reasons and 2.5 million discouraged workers who want a job but temporarily given up even looking for work, and you get a total of 23.2 million Americans unable to find full-time work. (The newly engaged battleground of Pennsylvania has suffered one of the worst jobless recoveries, losing a net of over 90,000 jobs since Obama took office.)
This is a natural consequence of Obama's big government approach, which entails a dramatically expanded federal imprint on the economy from haphazard and contradictory regulations. Businesses will not hire when the rules of the game are constantly changing and they find it impossible to forecast their tax rates and regulatory compliance costs. The president's health care law has made it impossible to gauge health expenses associated with new hires —they are certain to go up, but nobody knows by how much — creating another drag on hiring.
Genuine economic suffering is far greater than meets the eye, as households are squeezed between falling incomes and rising prices. Gasoline prices have doubled from when Obama took office, and have increased in line with Obama's new restrictions on offshore drilling. The invisible bread lines of this "recovery" have been food stamp and disability rolls. Food stamp rolls have jumped a heartbreaking 45 percent to now include a record 46.7 million Americans. More than 6 million people have signed up for disability since Obama became president.
Clearly, the failed policies of the present are causing widespread suffering. Moreover, and contrary to campaign rhetoric, there is a striking resemblance between Obama's core economic agenda of Wall Street bailouts, reckless spending, and weak dollar monetary policy and Bush's failed second term agenda.
Add to this toxic mix an enormous tax hike looming at the end of this year — a tax hike Obama has already promised to use his veto pen to ensure takes effect — and it's clear that an Obama second term means unacceptable economic suffering and a near certain return to official recession.
A Romney victory promises something very different. Congress would almost certainly cancel all the tax hikes. If Obama is intransigent enough to veto a deal before he leaves office, Romney would sign it into effect retroactively early next year, guaranteeing that no one faces a tax hike with the economy reeling.
Romney promises to unlock America's energy resources, including offshore drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf. When Congress lifted the offshore ban on October 1, 2008, prices at the pump collapsed to under two dollars in just three months — and that could happen again.
Romney promises a regulatory overhaul that would focus on ending the uncertainty of ill-designed scattershot rules to micromanage businesses and replacing it with clear rules of the road that protect consumers and otherwise allow markets to function efficiently. That will bring capital off the sidelines and get companies hiring again, with the benefit of being able to project their labor costs. Romney even promises to radically reduce his own presidential power by signing legislation that would require Congress to approve new regulations before they could take effect — a welcome step toward accountability and regulatory sanity.
by Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum: Americans may be tired of an exhausting national campaign, but let’s not forget that the stakes have never been higher. As Yogi Berra said, When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
If Barack Obama is reelected, he will merely click the repeat button to give us another dose of his first term, sending us down the road to European socialism, dependency on government, and imposing incredible debt on our children and grandchildren. Taking the fork in the road will give Mitt Romney and a new Republican Senate the opportunity to take us into a new era of rejecting dependency on government.
That’s our choice of what kind of America we want for ourselves and our children because it’s becoming clearer all the time that Obama’s road means a growing percentage of Americans dependent on government for living expenses, housing, medical care, and even food. The Congressional Research Service has just issued a new report that total annual spending on means-tested welfare programs has hit an incredible $1 trillion a year, not including entitlement programs to which people contribute, such as Social Security and Medicare.
There are 83 federal welfare programs that make up this single largest budget item, more than we spend on national defense. In 2011, federal and state welfare spending averaged $61,194 per poor household per year.
Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who ordered the budget figures to be released, said, “No longer should we measure compassion by how much money the government spends, but by how many people we help to rise out of poverty.” A major reason to take the right fork in the road is the fact that Obama gutted the welfare reform provision to get people out of poverty when he summarily and unlawfully abolished the successful Work requirement which was required by the law passed by the Republican Congress in 1996 and signed by Bill Clinton.
The biggest increase in welfare spending is for food stamps, which are now feeding 46,681,833, including 1,634,000 non-citizens. Sessions says that the Obama administration has allowed this program to increase mightily through misleading promotion and a disregard for self-reliance.
Foreign policy is another major reason to take the fork in the road. The scandal of the Obama Administration’s refusal to defend our U.S. Ambassador in Benghazi, despite desperate appeals to send help, proves that it was a hollow victory to kill Osama bin Laden because his acolytes are alive and still killing Americans.
The pathetic job market is a major reason to take the fork in the road. Obama’s much- touted “plan for jobs and middle-class security” is to send two million kids to community colleges. They will be looking for private enterprise jobs that don’t exist, and the only new jobs this will cause is hiring more government teachers.
In the last presidential debate, Barack Obama taunted Mitt Romney with this accusation: “Governor, when it comes to our foreign policy, you seem to want to import the foreign policies of the 1980s, just like the social policies of the 1950s and the economic policies of the 1920s.”
Some Obama staffer too young to remember any of those years must have given those words to Obama. They make no sense.
The 1980s were actually years of our most successful foreign policy. Those were the Ronald Reagan years when he labeled the USSR the Evil Empire and then won the Cold War (in the famous words of Margaret Thatcher) “without firing a shot” based on our military superiority and his determination to build an anti-missile defense.
The 1950s were the high-water mark for the American nuclear family. Social and economic policies favored it, and no one had to apologize for it. Since then, illegitimate births have increased to 41 percent a year, causing all the taxpayer costs and social problems that result from that unhappy figure.
The 1920s (known as the Roaring Twenties) were years of sustained economic prosperity, industrial and technological progress, and cultural dynamism. Obama, on the other hand, is taking us back to the 1930s, the years of the Great Depression, when the progressives started to falsely tell us that government can solve all our economic problems.
The only question voters need ask themselves in deciding whether to take the fork in the road is: are you and our country better off now than four years ago? For the overwhelming majority of Americans, the answer is a resounding “no.” Tags:Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum, right fork in the road, election 2012To share or post to your site, click on "Post Link". The last Aspen vacation info is interesting. To give you an Idea how hard people had to work to get all this information here is just one example:
Judicial Watch elaborates:
-The total cost for the Aspen ski vacation was at least $83,182.99.
-The bill for the U.S. Secret Service, including accommodations at the Fasching Haus deluxe condominium and the Inn at Aspen, was $48,950.38.
-The cost for the flight, per official DOD published hourly rates, was $22,583.70. Food and miscellaneous on-flight items cost $235.44. The cost for rental cars totaled $6,442.23.
Key details, including flight records for the Secret Service detail and the names of individuals who accompanied Mrs. Obama on the vacation, were redacted from the documents with the exception of two staffers. One was Meredith Koop, her personal assistant and style advisor, the other was her scheduler Kristen Jarvis.
"No wonder we had to file a lawsuit in federal court and wait six months to get basic information on Michelle Obama's luxury Aspen vacation," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The costs of the Obama family ski weekend are staggering. These high-priced luxury vacations, and the lack of transparency about them, are beginning to seem like an abuse of office." More Coal Layoffs Announced As Obama EPA Continues To Hurt Jobs
Hurricane Barrack Devastates Jobs
Before the Hurricane Sandy pounded the East Coast with devastating effects, Americans were experiencing the devastating effects of the Obama administration war on various industries notably the oil, gas, and coal industries. Today, we have new reports on the damage being done to jobs by the Obama administrations "war on coal." Again, Americans employed in the coal industry are losing jobs thanks in part to federal regulations under the Obama administration.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports today, “Consol Energy has told officials and workers that it will idle a West Virginia surface mine and lay off approximately 145 employees starting at the end of the year. The Cecil-based coal and natural gas company blamed the idling on permit delays that have slowed necessary environmental permit approval at its Miller Creek operations. It said it has been working on securing permits related to the Clean Water Act since November 2007, and said it continues to work through permit delays.”
The AP adds, “Consol has sought U.S. Environmental Protection Agency permits to redirect the Mingo County operations to mine land that would then become a 5-mile stretch of the King Coal Highway. . . . [Consol President Nicholas J.] DeIuliis noted that while the EPA had relented in objecting to one of the two permits sought, ‘that permit alone is not sufficient to allow miners to begin work.’”
Just last month, the AP reported, “Coal producer Alpha Natural Resources said Tuesday it’s cutting production by 16 million tons and eliminating 1,200 jobs companywide, including 400 with the immediate closing of eight mines in Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. . . . [Chief Executive Officer Kevin] Crutchfield called it ‘a difficult day,’ but said the shutdowns and layoffs are a necessary part of ensuring Alpha survives in what has become a difficult U.S. market, where coal companies face a dual challenge: Power plants are shifting to cheap, abundant natural gas, while companies like his face ‘a regulatory environment that’s aggressively aimed at constraining the use of coal.’”
And of course, these layoffs have effects beyond the jobs for coal workers themselves. Recently, the AP noted that “Norfolk Southern Corp. says it has laid off about 200 workers in the railroad’s divisions based in Bluefield and Roanoke. Robin Chapman of Norfolk Southern tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph that decreased coal traffic led to the furloughs.”
Phil Kerpen, president of American Commitment, said last month, "At this point, you’d have to be blind not to see President Obama’s war on coal, and the devastating impact it is already having on coal mining communities and will, sooner rather than later, have on everyone who pays an electric bill. Does this administration care at all about saving American jobs?"
Earlier this month, Kerpen noted, "War on coal comes to Virginia . . . Mines are being closed. The latest announcement came from Alpha Natural Resources, which is laying off 1,200 coal miners, citing 'a regulatory environment that’s aggressively aimed at constraining the use of coal.' The strongest words of anger against this regulatory destruction of the coal industry came from Cecil E. Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers: 'The Navy SEALs shot Osama bin Laden in Pakistan and [Obama EPA Administrator] Lisa Jackson shot us in Washington. This rule is an all-out, in my opinion, decision by the EPA that we’re never going to have another coal-fired facility in the United States that’s constructed.'"
As noted this summer, Senator Mitch McConnell said, “Perhaps the clearest example of this Administration’s regulatory assault is its War on Coal. Since being sworn in, President Obama’s EPA has set out to circumvent the will of Congress and the American people by turning the already-cumbersome mine permitting process into a back-door means of shutting down coal mines. . . . With this radical environmental/anti-coal agenda, it is no wonder the Administration has failed to answer the American people’s call for greater domestic energy production. The real-world impact of their fantasy-world energy policy is that people are losing their jobs and energy prices will rise even further.”

Global Security Newswire- The Obama administration earlier this year received information indicating preparatory activities being carried out by "al-Qaida-leaning" militants and other militants at encampments close to Benghazi, Libya, U.S. and European government personnel said in a Monday New York Times report.
A Sept. 11 assault on the U.S. Consulate in the city killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
The cautionary statements fell within a broader range of other intelligence and foreign service indications that Libya had grown increasingly dangerous after Washington resumed activities at its outpost in the African nation's capital following the Qadhafi government's collapse last year, according to the newspaper.
Prior to July, assailants carried out in Benghazi a series of targeted killings, strikes on Red Cross personnel and an assault on vehicles escorting a British international relations official. "A security vacuum" had developed in the area, according to an August e-mail from Stevens.
The U.S. Embassy in Tripoli warned days before the Sept. 11 strike that the Libyan government had established a "state of maximum alert" in Benghazi, which had recently faced an explosives attack on an automobile and a foiled attempt to steal money from a bank.
Despite the intensifying threat level, the State Department retained a policy established in 2011 to field relatively few U.S. protective personnel in Libya and to increasingly depend on locally recruited workers to guard Washington's envoys to the country, the Times reported.
The strike is said to have involved members of the groups Ansar al-Shariah, al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb and the Muhammad Jamal organization.
The security situation in Benghazi and the Obama administration's response to the incident are now the subject of three investigations on Capitol Hill and a State Department probe.
"Given the large number of attacks that had occurred in Benghazi that were aimed at Western targets, it is inexplicable to me that security wasn't increased," said Senator Susan Collins (Maine), ranking Republican on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

by Dr. Thomas Sowell: Confidence men know that their victim -- "the mark" as he has been called -- is eventually going to realize that he has been cheated. But it makes a big difference whether he realizes it immediately, and goes to the police, or realizes it after the confidence man is long gone.
So part of the confidence racket is creating a period of uncertainty, during which the victim is not yet sure of what is happening. This delaying process has been called "cooling out the mark."
The same principle applies in politics. When the accusations that led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton first surfaced, he flatly denied them all. Then, as the months passed, the truth came out -- but slowly, bit by bit. One of Clinton's own White House aides later called it "telling the truth slowly."
By the time the whole truth came out, it was called "old news," and the clever phrase now was that we should "move on."
It was a successful "cooling out" of the public, keeping them in uncertainty so long that, by the time the whole truth came out, there was no longer the same outrage as if the truth had suddenly come out all at once. Without the support of an outraged public, the impeachment of President Clinton fizzled out in the Senate.
We are currently seeing another "cooling out" process, growing out of the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi on September 11th this year.
The belated release of State Department e-mails shows that the Obama administration knew, while the attack on the American consulate was still underway, that it was a coordinated, armed terrorist attack. They were getting reports from those inside the consulate who were under attack, as well as surveillance pictures from a camera on an American drone overhead.
About an hour before the attack, the scene outside was calm enough for the American ambassador to accompany a Turkish official to the gates of the consulate to say goodbye. This could hardly have happened if there were protesting mobs there.
Why then did both President Obama and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice keep repeating the story that this was a spontaneous protest riot against an anti-Islamic video in America?
The White House knew the facts -- but they knew that the voting public did not. And it mattered hugely whether the facts became known to the public before or after the election. What the White House needed was a process of "cooling out" the voters, keeping them distracted or in uncertainty as long as possible.
Not only did the Obama administration keep repeating the false story about an anti-Islamic video being the cause of a riot that turned violent, the man who produced that video was tracked down and arrested, creating a media distraction.
All this kept the video story front and center, with the actions and inactions of the Obama administration kept in the background.
The White House had to know that it was only a matter of time before the truth would come out. But time was what mattered, with an election close at hand. The longer they could stretch out the period of distraction and uncertainty -- "cooling out" the voters -- the better. Once the confidence man in the White House was reelected, it would be politically irrelevant what facts came out.
As the Obama administration's video story began to slowly unravel, their earlier misstatements were blamed on "the fog of war" that initially obscures many events. But there was no such "fog of war" in this case. The Obama administration knew what was happening while it was happening.
They didn't know all the details -- and we may never know all the details -- but they knew enough to know that this was no protest demonstration that got out of hand.
From the time it took office, the Obama administration has sought to suppress the very concept of a "war on terror" or the terrorists' war on us. The painful farce of calling the Fort Hood murders "workplace violence," instead of a terrorist attack in our midst, shows how far the Obama administration would go to downplay the dangers of Islamic extremist terrorism.
The killing of Osama bin Laden fed the pretense that the terrorism threat had been beaten. But the terrorists' attack in Libya exposed that fraud -- and required another fraud to try to "cool out" the voters until after election day.
